[FT] Rangers 3 (Colak 50; Tillman 71; Sands 86) - 2 Partick Thistle

  • Frankie changed the title to [FT] Rangers 3 (Colak 50; Tillman 71; Sands 86) - 2 Partick Thistle

Made heavy weather of that one. A bit too bizarre a midfield-line-up, better after Roofe and Kent came on. I doubt Tillman knew what Thistle was after, they got the ball back and so be it.

Tillman got hammered all afternoon, yet dances through their area in the 96th. Raskin looks a fine acquisition too, can play and spray passes, good to have Roofe back too.

Now it's up to MB to employ the weaponry he has and stop playing Kamara 97 mins, or any other 2nd DM.

Better in 2nd half (Raskin and Tillman the pick of the bunch) but we really have to examine our obvious shortcomings again and the manager really needs to explain the questionable attitude for periods of the game. We have to be a lot, lot better than this.

I don't like singling anyone out as a rule but how Kamara played the full 97mins is beyond me. Tav really needs to improve his contribution as well - his use of the ball at the moment is awful.

Reading that people think Beale has thrown Tillman under a bus and that he'll have lost a lot of respect from the players in some places. I can't agree with that, he can still defend Tillman and explain what happened.

The simple fact is that we have to improve our performances though. This was nearly the banana skin, I feel like when we do slip up it might cause a cascade of results if we can't get the team gelled and performing well.

Just stop playing him. He’s shown he’s barely one good performance in ten games.

I've never really thought he's that great a player. I don't think I'd have any emotions if he were to leave.

At half time Tillman had been so anonymous I felt he must be carrying an injury but in the second half I thought he was sensational.

At the other end of the spectrum, Kamara and Tavernier look absolutely spent and at the end of their Rangers road. Kamara just seems aimless and disinterested, while TAV can hardly put a foot right these days. In fact, I can't remember the last time our captain turned in an acceptable performance. Contrast with Barisic who had been fairly dire until the World Cup but came back from Qatar, worked his socks off and is now by far our best fullback.

Through to the next round!
