I don't suppose there's a Rangers fan whose heart didn't sink a little when he saw the team selection with Lundstram and Kamara in the centre of it. We got exactly what we knew we would from that midfield pairing - ponderous square passing, sucking the energy out of the team. We've seen it so many times that there was never any doubt we were going into this contest with our hands tied behind our back. Worse still, Tillman joined them and virtually disappeared from view.

 

There still a lot of dead wood in this squad. With contracts being the way they are it takes time to re-shape a whole squad but there no excuse for selecting Lundstram ahead of Jack and Kamara ahead of Raskin, nor for leaving Tillman on the park for so long.

 

It was no accident that Celtic were such hot favourites but it's dispiriting to see manager after manager persevere with players who should be nowhere near first choice in a cup final.

They win 'every game' because other sides in Scotland are useless and we're not much better.

There's no such thing in football as a "good side".

There's only better or worse.

Right now, as we all saw today, Celtic are a better team than we are.

Not by much but they are still ahead of us.

Skippy the Celtic manager has won something like just 3 out of 18 games in Europe. That tells me they’re not that good.

Tactics, game plans & formations play a massive part in football nowadays. Doesn’t seem to matter who we play we get the same product on the park.

That needs to change

Saying Celtc aren't a good side is not the same as refusing to admit they're better than us.

 

The evidence is piling up - they're definitely better than us.  We can't beat them.  

 

I've seen some good Celtc sides and one of them would've beat us 3 or 4-0 today.

Starting XI debate aside... I thought Kent, Tilman, Morelos and Sakala were all poor today. So many wrong decisions when we had potential opportunities.
