Every player gets a clean slate, he will work with what he has squad / player wise and Tav remains captain. Anyone looking for short term magic and miracles is going to be disappointed but that is in no way the same as saying there won't be changes between now and Xmas. The mainstream media guys asked some pretty obvious questions the manager had already answered in his interview on Sky and his opening statements. The questions from David Edgar, Josh Barrie and Chris Jack were the only decent questions asked. I get these things are a tick box exercise and you don’t get much from it but they could at least act professional. They really are total clowns. He made a point of saying he is not the type of manager who wants wholesale changes (players wise). I thought it was a very good 1st public interview, no soundbites, the 4 pillers is an interesting concept and telling he said he wants players who aren't afraid to make mistakes, but when they do, the react the correct way. There are too many of our players who have adopted a 'play safe' attitude ad they are terrified to make a mistake as the crowd automatically get on their backs. I wanted him to say Tav is never a captain and well past his best, Goldson’s been at it, the rest of the defence is one footed but he’s got five specialist defenders all comfortable going forward who can come in tomorrow and he knows a way round the registration rules, Dessers and Lammers are eejits and are as good as gone. Fully agree mate, it was pretty much the same questions but from different angles outwith the independent rangers media (fan media). I'm happy with his unveiling tbf, he's hammering home some points early on in regards to mentality and knows that this side need a lot of work to achieve what he wants (4 pillars). Nothing outlandish either. Looking forward to Saturday - hopefully we'll see some embryonic changes of style, I'm not expecting anything huge but even if it's just less crosses then I'm sold haha. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
