We couldn't afford him anyway.

Cat was on something like 60K a week.

The number teams he was on told me a couple things.

One of which is...he is ALL about the Benjamins.

No voluntary pay cuts coming from that camp.

Besides, we don't need him when Kevin Van Veen is still available. ;)

Just as long as there is a buying option added.

Apparently there isn't.

Edit - we're apparently looking for 2.5m for him and not sure that they can afford that, but we'll take it from anyone.

Today's transfer talk is rather stale ...

Rangers are poised to move for Vitesse winger Million Manhoef, with Leicester City also interested in the 22-year-old winger. (Teamtalk)

Rangers look set to back away from a possible deal for Belgium international Michy Batshuayi, with tentative fact-finding talks already hitting a wall for the £60,000-week Fenerbahce striker. (Scottish Sun)

Galatasaray are showing interest in a loan move 😂 for Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz. (Ajansspor - via Daily Record)

Torino continue negotiations with Hellas Verona for Scotland U21 defender Josh Doig, but Marseille reportedly enter the fray too. (Foot Mercato in French)

We are not even mentioned anymore.

Rangers, Bournemouth and Norwich City are all interested in Motherwell youngster Max Willoughby. The teenage defender is the grandson of the former Ibrox player Alex Willoughby. (Daily Record)

But hey, here's something to light up spirits ...

Scottish Giants Keen On South African Forward

We are linked with Tashreeq Matthews of IK Sirius ... a South African left-winger!

Allround attacker aged 23, contracted till 2026 in Sweden.

I don't think we could afford to pay a single player £60,000 a week and if we did it would be  reckless

Absolutely, but I think the exact same of paying £38,000 a week to Goldson. That makes me sick. It is completely reckless for a club of our income to be blowing £2M a year on a centre half. I'd love the person who sanctioned that to be fired but I guess they are long gone. Surely with our income stream there should be nobody on more than £25Kpw?

I think there is a balance to it.

Agree with your Goldson conclusion. Its madness. They only time we should be paying massive wages to a player is when they have a high transfer value and are highly coveted and we have given them a big pay rise pending a big transfer.

Paying guys the wrong side of 30 +£30k per week is a recipe for disaster. These guys are only going to get worse not better.
