It's quite simple. The Police don't like them and they don't like the Police. If people choose to criticise or demean specific police officers then that might be construed as dehumanising but to criticise the standard of policing in this country in general can hardly be dehumanising. Similarly, the means by which such criticism is conveyed might conceivably be 'disgusting' but it's hard to see how simply raising banner could justify that description.
