[FT] St Johnstone 0 - 3 Rangers (Diomande 37; Tavernier 79pen, 87pen)

This is as poor a performance I've seen for a long time, terrible pitch is aiding that, but the body language is telling!. Great goal and hopefully we come out an improved team.

Not a performance to write home about in that half and our goal was arguably against the run of play. Both teams have struggled on a bobbly pitch and with chances at a premium, it's a real positive we take in a lead into the 2nd half. I think we also look a bit lethargic at times with only Cantwell trying to make things happen.

Looking for more quality in this period!

Diomande has notched an unexpected but, wonderful goal.

Our midfield has been lacklustre both in and out of possession. More often than not, their backs are to goal when receiving the ball, the second touch is the proverbial tackle. Of course the pitch is under par but, it is the same for both sides.

If we are going to persist with balls over the top, we are going to have play them with more accuracy.

Is there a massive lump in the St Johnston pitch or has the groundsman just drawn a crooked penalty box line?

There are three massive lumps in their defence, I think

I'm still blaming the pitch for a large proportion of that first half performance.

A famous Brazil manager once said, "If you know how to play football, you can play it anywhere," in response to a rival concerned about the state of the pitch.

St Johnstone are not playing football.
