Would have no issue keeping him if he extended his contract, but as it stands, if any offer close to £25M is received dor him, or any of our players we have to be selling them. 

25 million goes back to my original post that it would equate to being silly money (in SPFL term) so could be sold, but if offers were circa 11m or 12m Id rather keep him - as the old term goes speculate to accumulate (especially if others are sold for profit). We've more chance reaching the CL with Raskin in the team. It would be unrealistic to get a replacement in on the cheap and hit the ground running.

We're not in the position to let £11 million or £12 million assets to run down their contracts for nothing.

 

Yes, we've more chance to reach the CL with him, but that's all it is. A chance. We can't "speculate". We can't gamble. We've done that before recently and under Murray and it caused issues. 

 

We can't take the view that because we may make a profit on some players, we can afford to let others walk away for nothing. We made a £17m loss in 2024. In 2023, we were in the CL, made a profit of £23m in player sales and still made a loss. We need to be run on a sound financial footing.

Would rather have seen Danilo sold (but who's gonna buy him) but it is what it is. 

 

Hopefully opens the door for a replacement to be signed.

Just read somewhere the fee is £3m. Does that convert to €4.8m? Bit low but he needs sold. If Martin wanted him I'm sure this rumour wouldnt have gathered so much pace. 

 

Fair play to Dessers though. He was a donkey for the 1st year but had a much better 2nd season.
