Just giving a perspective. Said previously, I don't particularly want Martin, but feel the same about DA - much of a muchness. Martin unproven at a high level, DA unproven at any level.

So have I become a believer too soon?

I'll admit to not always understanding the niceties of tactics being employed in a game, but this was fascinating. How quickly he can get our players to follow his methods will be interesting. How he deals with the team's abilities will also be interesting to see. I just hope he does not talk at that speed in training. Jefte and Igamane are only getting to grips with English. This will blow their minds.

The Rangers Summer 2025 Transfer Rumours and Deals - Thread
L72 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I get the sentiment. But that'd be like buying a car, realising it was utterly crap and trying to sell it back to the same dodgy salesman for what you paid for it. Ain't gunna happen, you're taking a hit on it. -
Hmm. The big difference is Rogers proved he could cope taking it a level up, finishing 11th in their first season up. Martin didn’t just fail to do that, he completely flopped at that level.
-
Well it appears no one has any idea who we are or aren't speaking to, or where we are in the process. Today's "toys out the pram" reaction to a tweet that could be as equally incorrect or correct shows that. Its worth noting that SSN who went all-in on Martin being appointed earlier today have changed their narrative to talks with multiple candidates ongoing.

Guys a donkey but he should be sold back to them for what we paid. -
Still hoping someone is talking to Muscat and its being kept quiet , if thats possible in todays game.

As a comparison, here is Rodgers record prior to joining Liverpool ; Watford, Reading and Swansea - win rate of 41.3% - Martin has a 39.3% win rate. The only thing Rodgers won prior to going to Celtic 1st time around was a Championship Play Off final, the same as Martin.

Excitement and optimism has turned to bewilderment and apathy. Oooft. Any manager we could attract would be a seen a s a gamble, to be honest, so if Martin is the chosen one then I'll have to get behind him. I'm just feel momentarily scunnered.
-
They have had months to come up with the right guy , and its scary if the names that are in the frame are the guys they are actually thinking of employing. Russell Martin is just ridiculous and if they are crazy enough to give it to him we are all going to be at the games and on forums in October asking why.

GPL Predictions Bluebear54's GPL 2024/25: Rangers vs Celtic
weebluedevil replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
Thanks for asking Bluedell. I'm okay, just having to focus a lot of time on my business lately. Popped in to se the reaction to the news about Russel Martin....and if it's true or not. -

I've just listened to that podcast. Recommend it to anyone who wants to understand the, soon to be, chosen one. He said his ambition was to manage at the highest level, in the Champions League. Destiny! I'm now a believer and will be gutted if he does not get the job.

I sit in BF4 and the vast majority in there join in. As does most of Broomie if I'm being honest. At Hampden for LCF this season, the entire Rangers end sang it, and it didn't start in UB section. I still think songs remain a more serious issue than flares and banners, I see it them as just a convenient stick to beat the UBs with whilst ignoring the songs and the potential repercussions of singing them. Maybe I'm just finding myself further and further removed from the "rank and file" Rangers support and their obsession with TBBs, the Pope and Bobby Sands. Whilst Londonderry On The Foyle and the links that have been adopted by the UBs, aren't traditional Rangers songs they are far removed from the "banned" songs. I long for the day we manged to sing Rangers songs for 90mins, but that day seems further away than ever.
-
That article was full of negative stuff. Perhaps only for those with eyes to see.
-
I wouldn't say that it's the vast majority. From where I sit, I can hear the UBs clearly, but not necessarily from all other parts of the ground. I'd say that a majority of fans don't join in.
-
Pity he couldn’t bring Delia to Ibrox she does lovely dumplings would be a better prospect than the dumplings we have as defenders

They do, as do the vast majority of those in attendance. I'm willing to bet if FARE do report us, the UBs will cop the blame (even from those indulging).
-
All my misgivings put to rest. Delia reckons he’s a manager.

People will laugh but that has actually helped me 😂 2nd in xGD is a good sign and xGA is a good bit lower than actual, which is also good. I’m still not booking the Ancelotti tattoo removal appointment yet.
