I’m not too worried about that metric. I had just gone through his history and found his teams consistently concede a lot for their position in the table. The two fairest examples to use are his second season at Swansea and his promotion season at Southampton. The Swansea season he conceded about 10 more than all the teams around them in the table. The Southampton one it’s more like 15 more (which is about 35% more). Of course, that means they scored more too. But it’s put me completely off him because I don’t think it will work at Rangers. It’s actually very reminiscent of Warburton. Warburton’s achievement was actually far more impressive than Martin’s. Finished 5th as a newly promoted side. Martin had the significant advantage of being a relegated EPL side and finished 4th. Warburton had the exact same kind of record, scoring and conceding significantly more than teams around him in the table. It showed at Rangers. The positives going forward didn’t outweigh the negatives defensively.

'Do you expect me to talk?'

How did Sean Connery find his way into this conversation?
-
I can't argue with that - I tried... The only caveat being, Martin has been managing sides in the lower half of the table (outwith So'ton '23/24), whereas the others tend to manage those near the top. Goals conceded per league match: 24/25 23/24 22/23 21/22 20/21 19/20 Avg Martin - 1.37 1.39 1.48 1.39 1.34 1.39 Knutsen - 1.03 1.27 1.37 0.83 1.07 1.11 Muscat - 1.00 1.21 1.03 - - 1.08 Ange 1.71 1.61 0.89 0.58 0.92 1.74 1.24

We’ve seen good football work in this league plenty with a skint man’s version of those players. But they still need to be a certain standard and ours have been worse than Celtic’s for a while.

Is this when / where SDM makes his reappearance? Asking for a friend........

The Allardyche Option? You could interpret that as sufficiently foreign-sounding, I'll give you that.
-
What odds would you have given for Big Sam with Big Sean as his assistant?😁
-
The system works fine. But you need a de Bruyne or a David Silva to suddenly lance through the defensive battery and an Aguero to finish it off. Otherwise it’s pointless tedium.

“Emergency” eh? Tell’t yeese. Admin2 and aw that.
-
Definitely not Martin for me. His goals against record is diabolical. That never works at Rangers. Of course Ancelotti has no record. I haven’t researched the options to be honest, but overall I don’t like what I see in Martin’s record.

EGM 23rd of June.

I can’t see the attraction to any of the hipsters who insist on playing out from the goalkeeper to beat the press. Most of our games we don’t get pressed. Teams will watch us play it about the back for 90 mins and be delighted with a point.
-
Why? His record elsewhere isn't great and his style is the soon to be outdated Pep 'possession at all costs'. I'll be gutted if we appoint him.
-
I favour Martin out of the likely candidates. I think Priske and Fagioli look like better options than Ancelotti - and maybe Martin - but I'm not sure how likely they are.

The Bhoys Broadcasting Company should be banned from all things Rangers
-
The BBC can write or say whatever they want. However, while they continue to persue an anti-Rangers agenda, the club would be well within their rights not to allow them on any club owned premises.

Yes, and Timmy is studying hard to catch up. Worrying.
-
I'm so confident i stuck a bet on Martin becoming manager at odds of 3/1
