  1. Is it bad that I thought 'who' when I saw this!

  2. I follow him on Instagram and it looked like he just spent his 3 years here travelling around Europe doing PowerPoint presentations. Obviously that's not indicative of what he did while he was at the training center 9-5 but its all I have to go on.

  3. Compared to PSV and Ajax the Feyenoord youth set up isn't that successful. I mean it's still better than ours, but that's a low bar. I thought bringing in someone from Belgian football made some sense. They've been pretty successful producing players in recent years and with a population around twice that of Scotland's copying whatever they're doing seemed logical. I've no idea if Zeb Jacobs was the right guy to implement that. I've no idea if he'll be a huge loss to the club. Perhaps whatever he's done over the last couple of years will bear fruit in the near future. Maybe his successor will get the credit, or blame, for that. Rangers and Scottish football in general aren't going to start producing seriously good players until the entire league is changed and it won't matter who we bring in to replace him. It is no coincidence that Celtic brought through a batch of decent young players when we were out of the top league. Since we've returned they've developed nothing like that number. Young players aren't getting a game when a couple of draws are a crisis and three defeats will see a manager sacked.

  4. I suppose its your definition of that then. You could argue Ross McCausland has added value to us this season.

  5. Thing is a Nathan Patterson, Allan Hutton, Barry Ferguson, Allan McGregor, Charlie Adam in the past 25 years all make it worth while. We've made around 1 million from Gilmour and Rory Wilson before they kicked a ball for us, with hindsight we should have done the same with King and Lowry when the big EPL teams were sniffing. We probably made a few quid on Lewis Mayo and Ross Mcrorie too. On the flip side we have invested heavily in the likes of Tony Weston, Archie Stevens and Zak Lovelace with Stevens and Lovelace about to walk at the end of the year for development fee's. Maybe the path forward for us is punting promising 16 year olds down south and churning out lots of small wins rather than whale hunting for a Ferguson or a Patterson.

  6. But worse. If we improve our youth set-up we might start to create a culture of belonging. I want to see the end of the Aaron Ramsey, Joey Barton elephant's graveyards.

  7. Is there not some sort of requirement for us to have a youth academy? So, basically the same as we've been for the past 20 years or so?

  8. Is Power Point still a thing? Or are Rangers miles behind the technological wave? (I shouldn't be surprised.) Anyway, there is no point in worrying: There is nothing we can do about the matter; There will be another Academy Director along in due course, to slot seamlessly onto the top of the pyramid; We don't actually know if we should be worried about this change (which, I concede, might be worrying, in itself).

  9. I'm happy except where Silva is concerned....gone right off him. Can see why he can't get a start in the EPL.

  10. Really dont see the point of having these awards dos when there is a month to go of the season and all the important games still ahead of us. Apart from it being yet another way to fleece the fans of course. And as for Goldson winning some sort of achievement award, it makes a mockery of the whole event. A bit like when Ricksen & Hartson were joint POTY in 2005 when neither player was in the top 5 best players at their clubs.

  11. Because Hagi can't get into the Alaves team does not mean he is rubbish. Because Lammers is getting the goals in the Netherlands does not mean he would do the same for us. It's all about fitting into a team's style and building relationships with team mates. I'd like to see Hagi come back and see how he plays under Clement.

  12. If anything it was a foul by the st Mirren player who ran into Butland long after he played the ball
