  1. FFS man, dont tell Strachan what he doesnt already know. We want Crosas to play every game till the end of the season
  2. Completely agree Cammy. Was just trying to put some perspective on the police thing as no doubt that weasel Gav (kidding) would have done so when he came on..... Those banners should be ripped away from them, simple as. Rangers are culpable for letting them get their banner display set (but do they do that for us too ????), but at the same time the responsibility is with Strathclyde's finest is it not ? You know what though Cammy ??? Fuck them, we took 3 points and OUR League title is within grasp - lets revel in that glory !
  3. I hope that you are bumping this thread another 4 times this season to update his winning stats my friend !! Agreed, FANTASTIC signing. Yes, he lacks pace - but he cost us NOTHING and his reading of the game is as good as any CB we have had since Gough. On top of that, I suspect that guys like Cuellar and Bougherra would not have made as big an impact without bit Davie beside them. Very, very consistent performer - though his dictribution is SHITE !!!
  4. Will update as I see fit Cammy but...... To be fair to the cop, I just cant see any cop wading into Celtic OR Rangers fans and arresting "someone" - isnt that easy. I understand and agree with the sentiments but the reality is that it wont happen. Unless there is a FORCE doing it, not just one bobby.
  5. Technically, hopefully.... But a league is won over a season so it woudl be a bit harsh to not give BF some of the credit.....
  6. Fair shour Re Hearts..... but I am hoping that by the time the Tims play Hearts that it will be an irrelevant game.....
  7. The thing is.... the pressure is now firmly on THEM. Pressure was on us today as we kind of needed the win - we showed we could handle the pressure and showed bottle. Now it is up to THEM to show some bottle and against the one team that has troubled BOTH of the OF sides this season home AND away. I can see Utd sneaking a draw on Tuesday night, leaving us a point ahead and a win against Hibs Wednesday night would make it 4. Which, funnily enough, would leave us needing a win at HOME to the sheep on the 16th. What a fitting way to win the league that would be. Am I getting ahead of myself ? Sure. We have been poor this season but we have hit a run of RESULTS (not necessarily form) at just the right time - same way the Tims did last season - and these players MUST see that they are a mere THREE wins away from the holy grail. They proved they had the bottle today..... the confidence (hopefully not arrogance) that comes from that should see us take another 9 points. COME ON RANGERS !!!
  8. Regardless though Pete, they DID show they have bottle. Do they have the bottle to keep themselves where they are ? Hopefully but we just dont know. The Tims have a VERY tricky game on Tuesday night against Utd and we could find ourselves still in front after that game. But we MUST beat Hibs on Wednesday night to maintain the momentum.
  9. If we win tomorrow I can see Celtic drop points in their next game as they will be deflated. A win tomorrow and we could see the league won before the last day.
  10. He came here as a young lad, enticed by his former manager who so happened to be a fellow countryman. Is it really that much of a lack of character to want to go back to your homeland when your fellow countryman, the man who signed you, is punted/walks ?? Perhaps PLG was the ONLY reason he signed for Rangers, and when PLG left he no longer wanted to play in the SPL.
  11. Thomson is a better fit to the SPL than Clement and, as S_A says, Thomson was the direct replacement. Thomson is a much better player than Clement (and I say that as someone who felt Clement was a very talented player). Edu or Clement ? I actually think that Edu will mature into a better player. He has a better engine than Clement, gets into more advanced positions, breaks play up well too. The only thing Clement has over Edu, thus far, is passing ability - and that could be put down to Edu not quite being up to speed with the Scottish game and realising you have little time on the ball.
  12. I didnt consider it either but included it as Drogba wanted the penalty, therefore I guess it technically is a penalty incident.
  13. No offence taken Jon, none at all. That was my point, it is something which you either apply very simplistically (as you did) or you make it convoluted (which FIFA have done). I think that at the parent level it should be fine (when you look at my own instance it makes logical sense, at least for me) because there are extenuating circumstances as to why you werent born in Scotland. But when neither parent was born in Scotland then I find it a bit harder to believe that they were brought up Scottish. Now, in saying that, it isnt to say that they werent as it could very well be the case that the parents, whilst not being born in Scotland, were brought up to be fiercely Scottish (again..... I can see this happening with my 4yr old - we dont intend on moving back to Scotland anytime soon - so when he gets his first international call-up (aye right...) then he has not been born in Scotland, neither have his parents (both the Mrs and I were born in England) so we would have to go to grand-parents...... yet my 4yr old will DEFINITELY be brought up to be proud of being Scottish. See, I have now given a real-life example of where I personally think that we should go to grand-parents - yet I am against it in general. See how convoluted this gets ? Maybe your simplistic version is the best way forward Jon !
  14. Harsh on Clement IMO.
  15. All about opinions I guess. But I think the above is far too simplistic. In my own instance for example, my parents are both Scottish (through and through) and only employment meant that I was born in England. I was also then raised Scottish (through and through) so how does that automatically mean that you shouldn't be considered Scottish ? I would agree with you for the most part but that is a far too simplistic approach and I don't think you can "broad-brush" it either.
  16. I think it DOES make a big difference. Having Scottish parents does make you more Scottish in my opinion than if your last lineal relation being Scottish was your grandparent. I was born in England but of Scottish parents and would ALWAYS consider myself Scottish. But if your parents are not Scottish then I believe that it starts to make a farce of it. Your parents may never have seen Scotland yet you can represent them. That part I think is farcical. What if your parents lived in Scotland and were on vacation in the USA and your mother went into labour whilst on holiday ? Should you be prevented from considering yourself Scottish ? I do see what you are getting at Gav but I don't think it is necessarily so easy to simply say "not born in Scotland, not Scottish".
  17. And what made it worse was that it so obviously was NOT a penalty !!!
  18. Pen #1 - is on the side of the box - Malouda gets out-muscled. Pen #2 - Drogba goes to ground in box Pen #3 - Drogba goes to ground inside box under sliding tackle from Pique, Pique obviously got the ball. This is the one where Drogba goes all theatrical and child-like after seeing the ref not give the penalty. Pen #4 - handball incident - Pique, with arm behind back Pen #5 - handball incident - Ballack blasts it, hits someone on arm as he has turned away.
  19. Much as though I dont rate McGeady...... if he goes up against Dailly he will rip him a new arsehole. Has to be Whittaker at RB and Stevie Smith at LB. Come on Wattie, play players in their NATURAL positions !! The only reason I can see for not playing Smith at LB would be his lack of height - but surely the Tims would be playing Nakamura on that side and there isnt much difference in height - and Nakamura is hardly noted for his aerial presence.
  20. Goughie looks like he could still play..... but he needs a haircut !
  21. The pint of guinness thing is an old-standing joke about representing RoI

See, you CAN teach OLD dogs new tricks
  23. That must be over 90 mins then, right ? I would take a piece of that to be honest. Man U are just as capable up front, should be able to stifle them in the middle and defensively will be stronger.
  24. Big Dwayne..... Bermuda never won a game though..... I didnt watch ONE of their games - pathetic I know !
  25. I think that Man U are a certainty in the final. Barcelona have their RB, LB and Marquez out of the final, that is 75% of their defence.
