  1. They were unlucky today from what I saw - and that was just the 1st half - Drogba was being pulled every time the ball was near him and that effort that hit the bar was a pretty sweet shot. MRS Craig won 100 quid on this game
  2. Not sure Colsh but the German press were also running this story today !
  3. About the same as you did with your Ivory Coast bet...... ohhh, and you meant to say "how much did MRS Craig win".... right ?
  4. Rangers have announced the appointment of Jim Sinclair as Youth Academy director. The former director of football development at the Scottish Football Association was responsible for developing all aspects of football in Scotland including UEFA licence qualifications. Sinclair will be in charge of all youth coaching, recruitment, scouting and management outside the first team at Rangers when he takes over in August. Sinclair told Rangers World: "I am delighted to be joining Rangers and look forward to working with the young up and coming talent within the Rangers Youth Programme at the state-of-the-art training complex at Murray Park." Chairman David Murray said: "Some months ago we carried out a full audit of Murray Park and our current structure. "At that time we identified selection criteria for the new first team manager and a head of our Youth Academy, who would both share the same strategy and compliment one another in their vision for the development of young players to progress into the first team. "In both Paul Le Guen (new manager) and now Jim Sinclair, I believe we have found a strong football management team at Murray Park. "Jim came to us highly recommended and indeed, his experience of coaching and development at all levels is vast. "We are extremely pleased to have secured his services and look forward to his arrival in August."
  5. Heavy gambling problem ?? I could show him a thing or 2 my man !! Unfortunately !! I would never bet that much on a 1st goalscorer though - especially with a team like Brazil who have 6 or 7 that could grab the 1st !
  6. Maybe, but I ain't THAT stupid Geo - she can make me money but get her hands on the profits ? Don't think so. She does pretty well on SPL and EPL games too
  7. Just over 11/8 geo. Not my bet though, is the wife's. She has developed a penchant for betting in the WC, she is currently up about 100 quid (but if she had made ALL her bets 50 quid a go she would be up almost 300 by now !!). She has had some decent bets come up (at least odds wise but teams you would expect to win) - only 2 out of about 10 or 11 bets down - she has only lost out on France (drew - pish !) and T&T (she refused to back England !). She had 25 on Argentina this mroning and 50 on Holland I might hand my betting account over to her !
  8. 50 quid on the Corona & Tequila drinkers (Chexico that is....)
  9. Read top of THIS page Rino - Colshy put 2-1 on.... Ivory Coast to win
  10. lol Gav.... me thinks you have a rough idea - how they won it though is beyond me - wait, it must have been his postings whilst pished !
  11. Yep, very passionate about his country huh ?
  12. He isn't even Argentina's top scorer yet Colshy - Maxi Rodriguex is the man..... (yes, it IS a joke). Crespo is a great bet at 22/1 though. Lots of football still to be played yet though.
  13. You are right Colshy - but at the same time much of England are jumping the gun with their team (and I wouldn't mind England winning it actually) - and they have played weaker opposition than Argentina have. Ivory Coast have better, stronger players in their team than T&T do and the same can certainly be said for Serbia - and I would say Argentina have far outshone England thus far. Defensively England looked shaky yesterday against a team that had 1 man up front and even he isn't that great (yes, Argentina haven't faced a Rooney yet either) - but will be interesting when it comes down to it to see if England can stem the attacking threat of Crespo, Riquelme, Tevez, Messi et al. I say again though, you are right that Argentina haven't been tested yet but they have had as much a test as England have (probably more) - so if I chose from those 2 teams on who to "jump the gun" on it certainly wouldn't be England !
  14. keep taking the meds Colsh (and yes, that is a joke too - shame I have to point them all out). And you somehow were 3rd in funniest poster ??
  15. Yep, Klos injury has made it difficult for Gers (not through any fault of his) because they could have allowed Mullet to leave, have Klos as #1 and get Mandanda (or any decent young keeper) in to learn from Klos. With his injury they now have to get a #1 keeper. Shame for Klos and the club
  16. As was my response Colsh
  17. POPULAR ??? Are you BLIND ? Look at the awards you won - surely you meant to say UN-popular ?!?!?! :D Cheers for the congrats - no doubt the 1st and last award I will receive.
  18. Colshy, you must be real proud to be voted into the Hall of Shame in front of NEIL LENNON !!!!!!!! hahahahaha And shucks, thanks guys for the Best Newcomer award - I will share the spoils with you though gersfem - I had a solid few months head-start on you ! Jon - well done for doing all the pulling together of the awards - nice job well done !
  19. 6-0 and in the 2nd half they weren't even trying - admittedly against 10 men but they looked like they could score whenever they felt like it - and to be able to bring someone like Messi on (and Tevez who is also much wanted.... ohhh and Cambiasso who looked very assured too) this is a VERY strong team. I fancied Argentina pre-tournament but after that performance I wish I had bet on them and not Brazil !
  20. The Czech Repuiblic DOMINATED the US (who aren't a bad team) - I see what you mean about consistency Cammy but I am very surprised that the Czechs haven't impressed you (or is it due to them only having played 1 game ?). Spain always bottle it when it counts most but still were pretty impressive I doubt you will see a team dominate another team over 90 minutes in this whole tournament (he says whilst watching Argentina destroy Serbia - and Serbia aren't mugs either). Argentina put a very professional performance in against Ivory Coast and now are crushing Serbia - every team left in has to be worried about Argentina !
  21. agreed Gribz - they have looked very impressive today - great passing, great movement off the ball, giving nothing away at the back and they actually look as if they aren't even trying !
  22. I have curtailed my bets on this world cup but the wife is betting on almost every game (somehow she has gotten the footy bug back after she got overkill a few years ago). The only bets she has lost thus far are France and T&T yesterday (her bet, not mine - I tried to talk her out of it). She has had Italy (v Ghana), Ecuador (v Costa Rica), Germany (v Poland), Sweden (v Paraguay), Spain (v Ukraine), South Korea (v Togo), Brazil (v France) She is up a fair bit so far - today she has Argentina and then she decides on her next bet - I am just tallying her profit/loss to see if I hand my betting account oevr to her to do !
  23. Colshy..... England are in a weak group too but they have hardly been convincing either. England will need to up their standard VERY quickly or they will struglle to beat the Germans or Ecuador. Good shout Gribz with all 4 teams - would possibly put Czechs first - debatable as to who is the better team between the USA and Ukraine - but either way those are currently the form teams !
  24. England are pretty fortunate to have their 2nd round game coming from that group...... the worrying thing for England though is that Ecuador and the Germans will be saying the same about England !!
  25. It was such a poor game that I didn't even bother to watch the 2nd half - on that performance England won't go far.
