Bill Miller as preferred bidder & the new strip - doesn't add up!!
Bluedell replied to bigy's topic in Rangers Chat
Given JJB's well documented financial troubles, why would their directors agree to a commitment of £3m pa that they didn't have to? Even if they did want to, I'm not sure that their banking covenants would allow it anyway. However thinking about Umbro and Tennents further, did we not get cash upfront from these contacts so perhaps a new owner would be looking at getting new sponsors as there wold be no commitment to contracts that were null and void. -

The club will be contractually obliged to release the new strip at this point and therefore have to carry on as normal. They will have to do it as part of their obligation to JJB and Umbro, although they will not be getting any income directly from the sale of strips. There is no guarantee that the club will not contine in its present form and therefore haver to carry on as normal. I disagree with MoodyBlue. The contracts cannot just be transferred to another company, and it would be standard for the contracts to specify that. Companies like Umbro and JJB may allow the assignation of the contracts on the same terms to another company, but I doubt that they would allow that. The JJB deal as it stands favours Rangers and JJB may be happy to walk away from it. Likewise Umbro and Tennants would probably want to renegotiate as a club not playing in Europe and perhaps not playing in the SPL is not going to get as much coverage and therefore is less attractive. -

Why are people assuming the gun was fake? Is there any evidence that it wasn't real? -

Thinking about it a bit more, £5m is pish. Is that all that can be raised from TBKs? They are hardly putting in a big commitment. That's less than £1m each to buy the club? Hardly big hitters. Is that it from our wealthy supporters?

What a joke. -
All they did at that stage was change the company name. Nothing else changed. The company remained the same. They did subsequently get a newco to apparently play their games, pay their players and sell the tickets, while the plc owned the players and the ground. This is moving towards the scheme that is proposed by Miller, but the problem is that the information on what Celtic actually did is very unclear and there is very little publicly available information and they sure as hell aren't going to reveal it at the moment. A decent journalist may want to ask questions about it, but nobody has taken up the challenge yet and I'm not holding my breath.

One problem and one question about this: 1. Under this plan, Whyte still owns the shares of the PLC so the incubator company cannot easily get restored back into the PLC without paying off Whyte. 2. Just how does the company get restored back into the PLC? Does it just sell back the assets? I don't understand why a CVA would not get accepted. The incubator pays cash for the assets of the club and that's all that the PLC would get. why would liquidation benefit the creditors? Why would Ticketus get nothing from this? They would get their share of cash in the same way as the would under the current TBK proposal. why would Whyte get nothing? He still owns the shares of the PLC and if they want to restore back into the PLC then surely he would get paid for his shares?

The top two are OK but the bottom one is offensive. -
Here's Rangers Unite again. Has anyone established who they are?

Yes, it's the fact that they sponsor the SFA. -

Agreed. I heard an impassioned plea from one of the guys running the RFFF last night. It's still of vital importance that the cash continues to be given into it and there are a few cash raising exercises over the next few weeks, but there's nothing to stop us all giving what we can afford to help the club. Every penny counts at the moment. -
The deal will have been signed post-takeover in the name of Rangers. The timeline as I see it is as follows: 1. Ticketus and Whyte reach a draft agreement pre-takeover. 2. Ticketus pay the cash into a C&B client account that Whyte can't access but can view and show as proof of funding 3. On the day of the purchase of the club the following will happen effectively at the same time: - MIH agree to sell the club to Whyte - Whyte is appointed director of Rangers - Whyte signs the agreement with Ticketus in the name of Rangers - Ticketus give C&B the OK to release the cash to Whyte - Whyte pays the part of the cash over to LTSB to clear the loan.

You don't need to buy a table for the dinner. They will quite happily take bookings for couples/smaller groups. Should be a great night. Get along and support RTID NI if you can.

I was at the meeting for this yesterday and they do want to make it a family day. It would be great of you could bring your kids. It's not just about the Rangers of today. We want our kids to be able to enjoy the club in the future as well. We would like as many families along as possible. I believe that there will be a letter handed in to the SFA at Hampden and this will be done by a kid. -
Agreed. Great article by Boss.
-
I forgot to say that there wil be many of our friends who work for the club at the protest as well. Their jobs and their colleagues' jobs have been put at risk by the SFA and the human side of this should not be forgotten. People's livelihoods have been put at risk.
-
I attended the meeting tonight along with reps from RST, TBO, UB, FF, RM, VB, RFWG and RFFF. Everyone is extremely positive and all are singing off the same song sheet. We need as many fans along on Saturday. Bring your wives and kids and make it a fun family day out. We need to show the strength of opposition against these punitive sanctions. There has been a huge amount of cooperation to make this happen, and a huge shout out to Sandy Jardine, someone who I have been critical of in the past but he has stepped up to the plate when it is needed. The future of our club is at stake and we can all play our part by turning out and making the short walk from Queens Park to Hampden. Hopefully you can make it along on Saturday.

Can't remember (Liberty Capital?) but Whyte granted it security of the assets of Rangers Group, which AFAIK only owns Rangers shares but it's dificult to know why the security was granted as it appears that that Rangers Group doesn't owe anything to that company.
-
No he didn't. None of the assets of the club were transferred to the BVI company.
-
There will be accounts staff in the club but they can't do anything if a director refuses to sign the cheques. I don't see that they would have anything to worry about.
