  1. Give up. Who paid for the DD?
  2. or their members
  3. There was me thinking it was Stephen Halpin.
  4. Registering a company doesn't mean anything. It costs a few pounds to do and is easy enough to do and easy enough to get rid of.
  5. I don't totally buy that. If we lookn at it from a purely business viewpoint would a businessman look at buying a company where a proportion of your customers protest against you buying it? It can affect your future income streams and can generate huge amounts of bad publicity (look at Blackburn). It may not be the main reason but it certainly didn't help.
  6. I've seen nothing to suggest that's the case.
  7. I don't think that there's time for a CVA before the end of the season, at which point the players wages revert to their original levels and the administrators will need to get rid of players and staff, not forgetting about the fact that some players can apparently walk at that stage as well.
  8. Unfortunately all parties seem to be suffering from that affliction.
  9. OK. If you're quibbling the actual statements were "Truck off Miller. Yanks no thanks" and "No thanks to asset stripping Yanks". I'm sure it's not the only reason but you're not stupid enough to believe that it had no impact on his enthusiasm for buying the club.
  10. So "Yank go home" is truthful and not just bad mouthing?
  11. Given the amount of bad mouthing that had been going on, I guess not.
  12. That'll please a lot of people.
  13. The American isn't the only one.
  14. Years ago? Is that your son giving you all the information again?
  15. Whyte was a Rangers fan and I know someone who stayed in the same apartment block as he did who remembers him heading off to Ibrox regularly.
  16. Yes, it's a crap article. From his insistence of using the guy's midle name (yes, we get that he's got a RC sounding middle name ) to his use of catchphrases that a 10 year would be above. Halpin may or may not have gone to a RC school. He may or may not be a Celtic supporter. It's actually not him that's been working with D&P. Rangers media consultants are still Media House and are still heavily involved with everything that goes on at the club as anyone with the slightest involvement would tell you. The fact that Halpin's been involved with 5 companies that are dissolved is irrelevant. I've been involved with some as well and they were dissolved without owing a penny. It happens all the time. There's some other inaccurate information in the article. Leggat's got a cheek to accuse anyone of practising in the back arts (sic) of spin. He should stick to the articles that he's good at.
  17. The administrators have the power to sell the assets, and in this case the trade and assets to get a return for the creditors. Whyte does not have the power to prevent it. I'm unclear about the players and their registrations. I'm hoping that they can be transferred easily but I'm not sure and there will be plenty of barriers put up by the likes of Regan and Lawwell. I think that the administrators can sell the club anyway, if they believe that it's the most that they can get for it. If the creditors don't accept it, then what else can they do? There isn't money lesewhere. Why can't every company do it? It's not been easy. we have suffered 10 point deduction, the players losing wages, potenially not being able to sign players etc. We have a couple of parties interested in us, many other clubs would not and may just fold. there's still no guarantee that we are out of the woods yet and I was getting a bit emotional last night at the thought that it may have been may last time in my seat.
  18. I think that they were trying to close pre-packs where existing owners just set up again. This is slightly different and is the maximisation of income based on the sale of the business.
  19. I've looked into it further and there have been repayments of £8m last year (the first instalment of £3m was in June 2011 followed by an additional payment of £5m in September), but the balance left is still around £27m, I believe.
  20. What repayment? Did the admins not disclose the balance due as £27m and I don't think that there's been any payments to them since then.
  21. Depends on the value of the TBCs, but it's not going to be a huge amount.
  22. Do Close appear on the creditors listing? How much are they owed?
  23. He made some money along the way. I could come up with some facts (eg the difference in the sale price when he bought and sold the Albion, the profit on the Response deal) but don't see the point (I'll save it for a book ) He also sunk some cash into us (~£60m) and I'd argue that it did end up costing him a lot of money over the long run.
  24. By that logic, we can't trust anyone.
