Well, now that Daniel Sturridge has his dog back he might be in the mood for some football with some of his old L'pool mates.

I'm sure you will agree that Docherty is really a right centre attacking mid. Actually he could be the surprise package.

My recollection at the time was much the same - "why did it have to be him?" But you are right, it hurt Keltic much more than us. -
Apologies if this is in wrong thread. Thought this was going to be an interesting article praising us for finally ending the ban on catholics but it seems to be just using it as a stick to attack Rangers supporters calling people names. https://bellacaledonia.org.uk/2019/07/09/mojo-rising-maurice-johnston-30-years-on/

I think the new, improved Docherty could play that role if you're not selecting Arfield. Maybe instead of Kamara? We shouldn't need 2 mainly sitting midfielders for this tie surely? -
Only problem is that he has to be on the pitch to do that.

Oh damn. Now we're stuck with 2 good young players. If we can't get Kent then maybe good that we keep Middleton. -

Can honestly say that's the first I've heard of this guy. Scored 15 goals in the Championship. McBurnie scored more in same league. -

Only for players moving between English clubs. No English club will pay£30 m for a Scottish League player. The best we can do is to ensure we get a lucrative sell-on fee like the Keltic did with Van Dyck and others. As long as our teams keep getting turfed out of Europe before Christmas then that disdain for our domestic football will remain. -
11 million viewers say otherwise.

I'm sure I heard SG say that he wanted him because we lack a left-footed midfielder; suggests to me he will partner Arfield and Jack and just in from Kent.

Must have missed that about Dorrans going. Clearly injury has done for him as it did for Rossiter. Holt did a good stop gap job but we need to step up a level now. I think SG sees the midfield as the area to build around. -

No the only thing stopping it is the parochialism of the English clubs and their self-preservation. oh, and Eufa with their opposition to cross-border leagues. It certainly sticks in my craw that Wales can have teams in their league and still have a national side, both more successful currently than ours. -

Can you see a Wembley crowd chanting "Bonnie Britain, we'll support you evermore"? British Lions - not a rugger fan but don't see the point. Rugby World Cup has 4 nations. As for the Olympics, I don't feel any great affinity with Team GB (although it OUGHT to be Team UK). Your attitude is like the Walter Scott 'North Britons' cringe.
