Predictions for EURO 2016 Quarter-Finals
Tannochsidebear replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
This Poland - Portugal tie is the first match of the tournament I am truly dreading. Both sides played terrible tactical football against more open opponents on Saturday in last 16, and I can only see this being a total snorefest, with perhaps a late goal in extra time being the only difference between them. The two main men, Lewandowski & Ronaldo have been utterly disappointing throughout and there is only so many times you can say they must turn up this time only to be rotten again. Had it been a Swiss - Croatia game I would be really looking forward to it as both teams have played good stuff and I could see a high-scoring entertaining encounter. Hopefully I am as accurate with the above assessment as I have been at predicting the results and this ends 4-4 and goes to pens! -
Don't think this guy is going to be any better than the hapless Ricky Foster. If he can't get into a poor NI team, and gets papped to relegation threatened Killie it doesn't say much for our Development squad that he is seen as a better option. Good luck to the lad and I don't want to be blowing the budget for a sub, so he will do as an option to ensure Tav can get a break to keep his level up throughout a long tense season. Definitely still needing a centre half to play alongside Hill and a striker to play alongside Waggy & Barrie. Squad is getting deeper, stronger and taking shape.

Kyle Lafferty: I’d love Rangers return but fans may disagree
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
A very honest assessment there by Lafferty. You can tell he has now grown up and is not the daft wee boy he was then. He is correct though that he has burned his bridges here with the fans and he would not have overall support should he come back. That has not stopped other players (Miller!) coming back anyway if they get an offer better than elsewhere. I suppose the difference is that Lafferty is a Rangers fan as well, and should he come back and score the winner in the first OF game, you can bet your last euro he will be accepted by the vast majority afterwards. He was very inconsistent in his spell here, playing well at the start and end of the season but disappearing for 7 months in between. He also was used more as a wide forward for us, not a lone striker, and MW does like having these wide forwards so it wouldnt be the biggest surprise but I hope we go for better and MW respects the fans enough to not make this purchase. -

While I like the reasoning behind this Q&A, has he actually said ANYTHING of any value in 9 releases? I'm struggling to recall anything of any note. The scouting one was interesting but nothing new to those who have been paying attention.

Lee Wallace Celtic are playing catch up on us
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Just as I thought when I seen the headline. Nowhere does he say what the headline says. He is too professional for that. I absolutely feckin hate that gutter filth excuse for a newspaper. Ban the Rhebel from all contact at our club NOW!!!!!! -
Cup run of four games in nine days exasperates Warburton

Can someone remind me what the qualification process is out of these groups? Winner only, top two? -

Now we're talking! More like Kranjcar please, and less of the 4th tier English cheap squad fillers.

Rangers board to discuss safe standing area at Ibrox with fans
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Ehm the quotes actually say there is NO plan to do anything about safe standing. Which I agree with. Safe standing will just encourage the wee numpties to try to bring in flares as they can hide in standing areas easier than seating areas as seen at away games over last 4 years. We have a minority element within our support, both within and around the Union Bears, that love the Ultras style more than our club and refuse to accept that these things are bad for other supporters, and we don't want flares & smoke at our games. -
The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread
Tannochsidebear replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Cammy Bell has signed for the Arabs, despite a last minute attempt by a prem club to hijack the deal. For someone at a good age with a year left we should have got a fee from that horrible scummy club, and if they refused they don't get the player. With other clubs interested, for us to get nothing for him is really bad business. If it turns out we paid him anything to leave I will be raging. We have clearly learned nothing from the Darren McGregor fiasco last season. Disappointing. -
In the right system/side he is a good player. Good technically, pace and direct running. As I said in my earlier post, plays best when running over the shoulder of high line defences onto through balls. We dont play that way and we want to play him as a winger/wide forward where there is not enough space and defences are packed and all behind the ball. Its just not the right fit. Square peg into a round hole.
-
Sub, then released in January. Very poor signing, hasnt worked out. Needs to be running past defences from balls played over the top. We dont play like that, so was a very poor choice. Not his fault entirely, but hard to see it ever working out for him. Will be amazed if he is still in the matchday squad come February.

Rangers invite suggestions for the renaming of Auchenhowie
Tannochsidebear replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I dont like the idea of naming it after a club figure, like Cooper (who hated training!) or even Struth as he already has the main stand named after him. I dont want us to make the same mistake (IMO) we made with the Jardine Stand. I am ok with it being sponsor led, but I really dont see the problem with calling it Auchenhowie - I have used that name for it since it opened and everyone knows where I am talking about so dont see the need to come up with something different unless a Company wants to pay for the privilege. Most training grounds are named after the area they are in, that works for me. I will be glad when they take down that scumbags name from our wall no matter what we replace it with. -

Lewis McLeod? -
Yet more proof that he is a pure liar, he never tells the truth on anything, where is his £50M he was putting in? I thought I would get these in now just to save the sevconians later!

Club 1872 increase Ibrox stake to become 6th largest shareholder
Tannochsidebear replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I agree entirely. At the moment the club is in safe hands so the need to get shares into the hands of bears is not as urgent as it was 18 months ago. As such Club 1872 should be waiting until the money raised by fans can be invested directly into the club, and not paying off 3rd party investors. Very poor decision. -

Commercial executive sounds much more expensive than corporate match day host! Having heard Bomber on the after dinner circuit and at fans meetings, he ain't worth the grandiose title!

Mark Warburton has been granted his UEFA Pro Licence
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Surprised he didn't have it already. Hopefully they kept defending set pieces to the end and he has now got to grips with it for next season! -
I can only hope the bullshit filter has been vigorously applied. That will take more than half the questions out!
-
If bomber gets any sort of job at Ibrox it will be a return to the bad old days of jobs for the boys. He is not the sort we need representing us. A good wholehearted player in his day but those days are long gone. I won't go on to slaughter the guy by listing his faults which are well known, but I will leave it at I don't want to see him in any official role at the club outside match day host at hospitality.
-
Do we think there is any chance of the fixtures being ripped up and re-done? I suppose the answer to that will be only if it doesn't look good to celtic. I can't imagine these being released without Peters approval so I'm guessing nothing will be done. On first glance the fixtures are fairly kind to us but that may come back to bite us post-split depending on who makes the top 6, but I have this feeling that due to the moaning by the wee bitter diddy clubs the fixtures are going to be re-done and we will get a horrendous set of fixtures in the re-draft.

By all accounts a proper defender, a leader and an organiser. Exactly what we need this season. Short term perhaps, but we can't have a team full of kids for the pressure of winning this title.
