match thread (image) [FT] Motherwell 1 - 1 Rangers (Itten 72)
Tannochsidebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
That performance was nowhere near good enough, but we found enough to not lose the game and pick up a point. We match our rivals result and one less game to play. I always thought Fir park was a tough place to go until I heard the stats on Sky that we havent lost there in the league for a very long time which surprised me. I'm sure SG will have them well drilled through the week, as we certainly need to improve on that performance. Onwards and Upwards towards 55. -

Agree with others its been a really disappointing performance in the first half. Hopefully the full hairdryer treatment at HT by SG and we see a much higher tempo right from the start of the 2nd half. Crisper passing, better movement off the ball, get some shots in. -
Fair enough mate, but by that game the bheasts had long been eliminated and Lille already qualified for ko round so it really was a meaningless match

That game was the dictionary definition of a dead rubber.

Just caught up tonight with the latest in the excellent “away days” series on Rangers tv from the Dolly match last weekend. It really is so insightful and brilliantly edited. I think the decision to just use whatever noise the mics pick up is what makes this so special, and this season particularly with no crowds we get to hear so much more of what is said on the pitch during the games. What impressed me the most about this episode was the sound and pictures from the full time whistle. There was no celebrations, not even a yeesss or anything. The players were not happy at just winning the game, they knew we were poor for the last half hour or so and were not happy about it. One picture showed Barasic discussing a particular passage of play with another defender and the body language was as if we had lost, never mind just grubbed Dolly for the 3rd time this season and twice this season at the hill of dung. It shows the level our club has got to now, and the team of winners we are building. Not even happy with a 2-1 win at Pittodrie to cement our lead at the top, they strive for perfection and unless they achieve it, there is little room for satisfaction. Absolutely tremendous stuff ???

The week is not over yet! Hopefully another update required tomorrow!

So utterly predictable from the likes of that mumbling buffoon. Expect more like him to start popping up on all SMSM in coming days.

I would add that the way the bheasts ran out of gas in the closing minutes looked reminiscent of a team that had been away on the bevvy for a week before the game. Of course they weren’t, they were elite sporting superstars getting some vital warm weather training. Lovely.

If Hibs play anywhere near that level against us in a fortnight, we will have one of our easiest wins of the season ahead. They were absolutely rank rotten, but still well worth their point, in a game that would get football stopped. West Germany v Austria ‘82 anyone?

Separate Entity FC Plan About To Come To Fruition?

Apparently it was wee Lenny giving him instructions. He’d have been better muting them and listening to his pitch side coach. -

I wonder if it is more than coincidence that Morelos is playing better with Roofe out the team? With Roofe playing, Morelos is not the main forward, and gets much deeper and involved with the play, and while that part of his game is improving, it can look like he is off-form as it is a lot to learn for a previously mainly penalty box striker. With Roofe out, Morelos reverted to a more central, leading the line position and this seems to have brought the best out of him again. Could all be just coincidental and he is free of niggles, mentally in a better place, fitter, any of the above, or a one-off and he has a stinker next game! -
That's an easy one - absolutely none of them are even close.
-
Apart from his last season when he totally downed tools and looked more like Theo Snelders. I loved Der Goalie as well, a top quality keeper for almost all of his time with us, but he doesnt come to close to Goram or McGregor for me.

I dont normally watch their games (apart from the European ones when they are getting a tanking) but I think I might just have to watch this tonight, including build-up, as our "net" lead is extended to 13 points. If for any reason at all Hibs do not leave with 3 points, Scottish football is completely screwed for good. Karma is alive and well and living at Covid Park (copyright Scott7, I loved it so I stole it!) -
MATCH REPORT - ABERDEEN 1 RANGERS 2
Tannochsidebear replied to Govan Rear Bear's topic in Rangers Chat
These reports are top class GRB, better than anything you’ll read in the tabloids tomorrow morning. Thanks again for the excellent summary. Id forgotten about Kent’s miss in first half when he done everything right and then hit the defender on the line when he could have picked his spot. Would have been a fantastic goal. -

I don’t remember seeing us put a 15 consecutive league games winning run together in my 35 years of watching us every week? This run is incredible and for us not to go on and win the title will take a monumental slip up of equally huge proportions but given what we’ve been through these last 9 years I’m sure I’m not the only one taking nothing for granted. -
Easy one again this week, Morelos back to scoring form with a bang as well as winning a penalty and a generally all round great game. Special mention to Davis who was best of the rest, classy performance today from the veteran.

Apologies, it was indeed Aribo. Assumed it was Kamara from the positioning, didn’t see clearly who it was. -

Yaass FT. Made that so much harder than it should have been. A totally controlled first 65 mins but we fell asleep once, and the rest of the game was brutally negative by us but we got over the line, which is all that really matters. 3 wins from the title. -

Zungu on for Hagi. Very negative sub, what we have we hold it looks like. Hope we don’t regret it.
