  1. Would anyone volunteer to write one if we offered you money? £20 a preview?
  2. Gimme a break, it was a f*cking Monday!
  3. I'm not 100% sure what you mean mate. We have a bunch of Gersnet writers and we give exclusive articles from them to WATP mag to put in our Gersnet column. There's no way we would publish these articles here on Gersnet or else it would spoil the mutual trust and respect.
  4. Even although Gersnet has absolutely no financial interest in the magazine, that would be an extremely uncool thing to do.
  5. For anyone who's interested, Frankie wrote the latest article for our regular Gersnet column in WATP magazine. It's WATP issue 11 which has just been released in recent days, so look out for our column containing Frankie's excellent article entitled Changing fan attitudes. You can purchase copies and subscriptions direct on their website here - http://www.watpmagazine.co.uk/ And for lots of info on current & upcoming magazine content, where to purchase a copies, subscriptions, competitions and everything else, you can follow WATP mag on Twitter here - https://twitter.com/WATP_Magazine/with_replies
  6. That's the predictions thread now up for the Alloa game on Sunday - Predictions for Alloa v Rangers - Championship match 2 (GPL game 4)
  7. These guys are doing some great reporting of stats and analysis of them too.
  8. Folks, we've got quite a lot of gaps on our match preview writing schedule, so it would be great to get some more volunteers. If anyone fancies writing a preview for a certain match just say which one and we'll put your name down for it. _____________________________________________________________ Upcoming: AUG 16 - Alloa v Rangers - SPFL Championship - Rousseau AUG 19 - Ayr Utd v Rangers - Petrofac Training Cup R2 - ??? 9. Jig missed one in Dumbarton the following month.
  10. We certainly didn't get very many last season. Jig missed one or two, but other than that I can't think of others.
  11. That's basically what I was trying to say myself when I said: "On the other hand, you'd think it wouldn't be difficult to just give the more experienced pitch-side staff the authority to go onto the pitch if necessary." Although obviously the emphasis was on "the more experienced pitch-side staff".
  12. Yeah, it is a thankless task. The guy works his arse off on matchdays and it seems like a really difficult job he's got trying to coordinate all of the security & stewarding staff as well as liaising with the police. In this case, it's probably quite an awkward situation to deal with when a fan invades the pitch and a decision needs made as to which personnel should get them off it. On the other hand, you'd think it wouldn't be difficult to just give the more experienced pitch-side staff the authority to go onto the pitch if necessary.
  13. No worries mate, I know David Martin is 'Head of Security', but I don't actually know if he's also classed as the 'Stadium Manager'. Either way, I'd have thought that it's probably him who'd need to give the OK for security staff to go onto the pitch because he's in charge of all security and stewarding. He's not a particularly popular chap amongst certain groups of fans for a whole bunch of reasons, but in his defense, he works extremely hard on matchdays under quite difficult circumstances. My only real criticism of him would be that he seems to dither quite a lot, so if he got a message over the walkie-talkie on Friday about the nutter running onto the pitch, then it wouldn't be a huge surprise if he dithered a bit.
  14. Stadium manager or the head of security David Martin?
  15. His goal return of 9 in 17 for us in the second half of last season was superb, but we shouldn't be touching any Newcastle players with a bargepole unless they're out of contract.
  16. Great read as ever D'Art!
  17. Here's the results and standings tables for GPL game 3 following Friday's excellent start to our Championship campaign - GPL game 3 results & standings If anyone spots a mistake please let me know!
  18. If he was posted missing for 95 minutes you'd have to wonder why Stubbs didn't sub him? Strange!
  19. This is almost certain to be another sell out match, so if you're not a season ticket holder and want to go it would be wise to buy a ticket ASAP!!!
  20. Allan played the full 95 mins in Hibs' 2-1 loss in Dumbarton today.
  21. Or at least was at one point? Maybe he even got her up the duff.
  22. The lad Oduwa plays as an attacking, goal scoring left winger, not as an out-and-out striker or centre-forward.
  23. The security and stewarding situation is a bit of a shambles tbh because it's not just one company, it's 3 completely separate companies. We've got G4S who still have an office in Broomloan house and still contribute a lot of security and stewarding staff. Then we've got Garrion, the subsidiary company Green & co set up. They seem to do all sorts of stuff from stand security & stewarding management down to basic stewarding in certain areas. Then we have a 3rd security company sub-contracted in called Servoca. Presumably they're being used for large attendances because G4S and Garrion don't have the staff numbers to cope with big crowds at Ibrox. As well as that, I think there's probably issues with inexperienced staff because there seems to be a high staff turnover. You constantly see new stewards and security staff being told what to do (and what not to do) because it's their first day on the job.
  24. Don't forget to post your predictions for the St Mirren game at Ibrox tonight. Get them in before kick-off!!! Do it here - Predictions for Rangers v St Mirren - Championship match 1 (GPL game 3)
  25. It's a completely and utterly unreliable source of player transfer values. Clubs will buy and sell at all sorts of prices and a website like Transfermarkt has no real or significant insight into that.
