Bring it on! We should never have been removed from the top tier in the first place, so it's time we stopped cutting our noses off to spite our faces.

It might not, but in reality it's far more likely to happen than not, so I don't understand your pessimism at all. That question seems very strange to me in the context here because while it's asking about an important issue, absolutely none of us know the answer for a number of reasons. Another question which seems strange in the context here (attendances) for a whole swathe of reasons, but primarily because we've been a Europa League standard team for many years now and then there's the fact that our average attendances against several Scottish minnows recently have been as big as many a European night at Ibrox outwith the 'big games' against 'top clubs'. Scottish football is poor these days and in more ways than one, we all know that, but to say that Rangers has 'little ambition left' is ridiculous. The Club and the supporters have plenty of ambition, we just need a slightly more ambitious structure in terms of development, scouting etc and a management team and squad of players to have ambitions and effort/performance levels which are on par with what the Club and the support strive for. The new board's been in place for 3 weeks and they have an absolutely massive task ahead of them which they're going to need our help with, so would it maybe not be more prudent to give them some time to try to sort the mess out than to attempt to second guess them and harp on about their lack of ambition?

There we murmurs last season that our TV money was less than a hundred grand, which apparently isn't even enough to pay Jig's wages for 6 weeks.
-
Players have a say in their own destiny too though, so it's not completely impossible if he personally wants to stay or come back.
-
It would be a blow, but certainly not an insurmountable one. The Club will definitely fully recover either way, the only question is how long it will take.

It's going to depend on a whole bunch of different factors, but no matter what size of transfer budget we have, the bottom line is that Newcastle are highly unlikely to give us any transfer bargains.

Total ticket sales including STs as of yesterday morning were apparently in the region of 29k, so I doubt if it went over 30k by kick-off. If it did, then it wouldn't have been by much. With us having had 2, 3, 4 thousand ST holders not turning up to certain games recently, then it wouldn't be a surprise if there was only about 26-27k there yesterday.

Aside from his goals, some of his forward passing is absolutely excellent, especially his vision for sliding it into channels for a running man and that's something which is tricky in terms of judging the weight of the pass. His overall skill level is good and his pace, strength and height are all good attributes, plus he's clearly a team player, so it's difficult to see what not to like about the lad. His goals are obviously very welcome too considering that Kenny Miller & Kris Boyd both look like they couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo most of the time!

Well done mate and good luck today! The weather here in North Lanarkshire is pretty bad just now, but hopefully it clears up a bit by the time we get to Ibrox later! -
This thread's clearly run it's course, so is now closed.

Paul Murray spoke very well indeed in that interview and I really like the fact that he's clearly not leaping to fire moonbeams at us or hit us with more specific, but sketchy plans after only 3 weeks since the EGM. We don't need a repeat of last year's business review which (on the surface at least) appeared to take over 4 months to give us a pile of sketchy plans with very little in the way of substance.

He isn't embarking on anything on behalf of Rangers or the fans as a whole though, he's acted on behalf of himself and his website & forum, Follow Follow, so anyone taking a 'he doesn't speak for me and nor should he' or similar type line on this is blowing it out of proportion and viewing it as something which it isn't intended to be anyway.

Does it really matter? Why does it bother you? Most donations will probably come from folk on FF, but if a few other people choose to make a small donation what blooming difference does it make to you or anyone else here? FWIW, I'm not defending what MD did or defending him asking for donations, but it doesn't particularly bother me either and I don't understand why it would bother anyone else unless they have personal issues with the guy or his forum & website.

No matter which manager is in charge, that is exactly what he needs to be thinking because we desperately need some real quality before quantity. We need to be saying cheerio to Jig and a bunch of other high earners whose contracts are up and bringing some quality in, even if it's only a couple of really good players supplemented by a few shrewd freebies and the best of our younger lads.

Slightly different type of player and possibly out of our league, but I'd much rather we went for a player like Weiss. People remember him as greedy and inconsistent, by I remember him for his excellent assists & goals to games ratios under difficult circumstances where he was often used as a sub from the bench. He's also been providing those regular assists plus a handful of goals each season at a much higher level than Scottish football. The bottom line for me is that a player like Weiss is touching on the sort of real class that we need to be striving for while staying realistic. Can you imagine Olympiacos coming in for Templeton?

The last thing we need is a player who's so much of a clown that he manages to injure himself falling off the team bus. I don't like thinking about it, but it cost us almost £8.5m in transfer fees to sign Lafferty, Edu & Jig. Can you imagine how much those 3 players cost the Club in wages + bonuses and perks as well? All-in you're probably talking about £20m+ squandered on 3 extremely mediocre (being polite here) football players.

They need to retain the ticket pricing structure which was already in place otherwise tens of thousands of fans would be pissed off if they started selling cheaper tickets.

Rangers agree £1.5m loan with Park, Letham & Taylor

I would have thought that Wallace and/or Nash would have had an extremely detailed file on their findings during last year's 120 day review (not the published info, but their full unpublished material) and that one or both of them would be willing to assist Dave King & co where necessary, even if just from recollection and giving pointers as to where to look. One problem though, is that there were no trustworthy directors left after Wallace & Nash were removed, so there's a period of time where Dave King & co could have serious issues uncovering exactly what's been going on. -

His death rocked Scottish football, but I always think that it must have been absolutely devastating for his family and close friends for him to die so young.
