The comparisons with Rooney and his body type are a good point, Rooney was on a decline at 30 whereas a guy like Sheringham played at the top into his late 30's. Contrasting builds and body types which meant Rooney could play in the first team young.. Genetics is a big thing in football these days clubs look into backgrounds and body types. Many clubs passed on Mathias de Ligt when he was at Ajax because they reckoned his genetics would lead to him having weight issues.

I agree with this. Add to that he will be one of our higher paid players. It doesn’t make sense to have your highest paid players as guys with no resale value as if we don’t make Europe or need to wage dump it’s impossible to move these guys on. Tav, Goodson, Lundstram and Lawrence will likely be our top earners when Morelos leaves and no one Will likely buy them. It’s ok to have a few old heads around making big money but balance is required.
