I will be in Bilbao for a week from tomorrow (and hoping to catch Bilbao v Real Sociedad on Tuesday night). If anyone needs the payment details please PM someone on this thread who has already paid. I get back next Saturday just in time to find out the results, so will catch up and finalise the arrangements at that point.

In the light of yesterday's result I have edited the OP as follows: Please note that if Rangers finish 3rd in the League and win the Play-Off Quarter Final the dinner will be moved to Saturday the 16th of May at 5.00pm for 5.30pm, again subject to date or kick off time changes imposed for TV. Please note that if Rangers finish 3rd in the League and lose the Play-Off Quarter Final the dinner will be take place on the 23rd of May at 5.00pm for 5.30pm or later if there is a consensus to move the time as we would have no game.

Ronald de Boer had the best football brain of any player I have ever seen in a blue jersey. The most skilful players I have seen were Baxter, Gascoigne and Laudrup but in terms of football intelligence it has to be de Boer for me.
-
Mols was easliy the better footballer, in fact it is a no contest for me. Mols was the only player in that team who undertsood what de Boer was trying to do, they were a sensational partnership when both were fit. Mols could anticipate a de Boer pass; in stark contrast to the likes of Lovenkrands who could only stand and watch even when RdeB pointed to where he was going to send the ball.

Don't worry Steve, you and I can have a wake on the 23rd. The good/bad news is that Robert is quite happy with your topic of "Rangers - The War Years". It has to be said that barring Falkirk doing us a turn and our lot rising to the occasion at Tynecastle a move to the 16th is looking increasingly likely.

Not quite sure if (Palmerston), Easter Rd and Fir Park, rank alongside Bremen, Athens, Lisbon and Florence but certainly ahead of Manchester!
-
So you don't ask the SFA to submit an application for special dispensation to UEFA?
-
We should be OK on the the 3 years accounts but if not the SFA can apply for dispensation on our behalf! There is a deadline, I forget the exact details but have posted the info before. This has been discussed at length when some thought we might qualify by winning the Cup whilst in the lower leagues and before 3 years accounts would have been available. I'm already looking at hotels in Kazakhstan

I'm sure that I read that Foster has 29% and Faure 31% chance, so probably it's an average figure.

It seems that the Tribunal may have based their decision on the fact that the referee aided by the offical behind the goal made a conscious decision that the player headed the ball and that whilst that was wrong, it is a different scenario from the referee alone not seeing the incident or making a conscious decision that there was no incident to penalise. It's understandable from that perspective and also from the perspective that it might set a very dangerous precedent.

Let's leave aside the vexed question of whether or not the Compliance Officer was right to charge the player, he was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. Let's say the ref or other official saw it, awarded the penalty and ordered off the player; judging by reaction on here most folk would have said that was the correct decision(s). Let's also say the next match in the tournament was the first cup tie of next season not the Cup Final. Would ICT have appealed, I very much doubt it. But again, let's say they did appeal. Take a look at the two pictures here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3052672/Inverness-defender-Josh-Meekings-cleared-play-Scottish-Cup-final-independent-panel-tribunal-dismiss-case.html; they appear to show that Meekings raises his arm to handle the ball (unnatural position or not). So how on earth do the Tribunal get from there to case dismissed?
-
Sadly we won't be needing them for at least another season, but I detect a touch of irony here.
-
SFA shafted by Harper McLeod, whatever next.

Looks incredible CM.
-
Does this mean that ALL the players in the picture will be at Ibrox next season or are any likely to be air brushed out in the summer?
-
So I guess they'll all perform like supermen in football boots then and :jig: should be good for another couple of seasons. Might need to get one myself if they're that good.
