  1. So if no one including you has the details of the contract how can you say it is "onerous"?
  2. From the Fans Board Minutes: We’re on a royalty deal with Puma where the club get approx. £10 per shirt sold We’ve leveraged Sports Direct to get us a better deal. Sports Direct gets half of the shirt deal
  3. Because right now the Club is already having to pay one manager for the next 12 months and can't afford another. I can only assume that in the judgement of the Ashley & the Directors KMcD can take us up to the SPFL after that it's a whole new team and a whole new ball game; especially if Ally is off the books by then. Also which manager could he bring in that would guarantee the first step of getting to the SPFL with the current squad?
  4. Do you have the details of the contract between SD and Rangers? Whatever SD get from the current situation, I very much doubt that Mr Ashley is the type of person will want to stand still.
  5. Ally made his own position untenable and we can't afford to employ two managers at the same time, so promoting McDowall was probabaly the only possible solution. If he takes us up he'll probably get the gig, but if not he'll be let go for sure.
  6. #1 Rangers are an n times bigger brand than Newcastle will ever be #2 He needs us to be playing in the SPFL and Europe to make it worth his while to invest and get a return through increased markets and sales. Going back to my points: The fans did have the opportunity to buy the company out of insolvency and didn't take it. Boycotting the Club by not attending matches is indeed completely counter productive. Tell me what those who have stayed away from home matches have achieved other than increasing the amount that Rangers need to borrow or issue new shares to cover? Did one Director resign because of reduced attendances or one institution sell their shares?
  7. Kenny McDowall is a highly experienced coach, much more so than Ally. That said I would accept that the reason for his appointment is more financial than for any other reason but that was forced by Ally who made his own position untenable, so there is no money for another manager on the payroll at this time. I would have had Davies but there is no guarantee that anyone can come in now with the players we have and get promotion automatic or otherwise.
  8. What other objective would Ashley have in buying shares in Rangers other than to promote SD and how better could he do that than by ensuring that the Club is successful?
  9. Supporters Direct has all the models you would ever need but the circumstances have to be correct. Currently the only road to ownership is by buying enough shares and I think I have demonstrated that that is a very long way off indeed. Even if fans owned 100% of the shares I doubt that legally they could turn the Club into a members only organisation. I am fairly sure that that would be an entirely new entity but that is a other debate as would be the status of such an entity. A degree of Fan influence might be an achievable objective if a combined 5% could accummulated and perhaps some kind of umbrella fans shareholder group could be formed if the RST & RF can't get their acts together.
  10. This is highly unlikely at best. The SFA can do lots of things but they can't override company law. Most UK clubs are private limited companies, owned by shareholders and operated by a Board of Directors. The shareholders and their directors are not going to give up ownership easily. It's true that German clubs started as fan owned organisations often sports clubs, much the same as in the UK, but German history, politics, and culture has evolved differently to the UK where the political culture especially has been much different. It's true that there are some examples of clubs 51% or more owned by fans but these tend to be the smaller outfits like Stirling Albion, Clyde and East Stirling or essentially new clubs like AFC Wimbledon and Portsmouth (75% owned by the Trust and 25% by high net worth fan-investors) in England where you were starting with a blank sheet of paper.
  11. I am sorry to have to tell you that "Fan Ownership" is simply not going to happen. If my arithmetic is up to scratch then I make it that the RST/BR & RF combined have about 1.7% of the issued share capital and there doesn't seem to be any prospect of them getting together any time soon (although as an RF member I welcome the decision to talk to other groups). Other individual shareholders were said to own 12% but what proportion of that 12% have gifted their shares to RF? 12% is 9,777,384 shares and the RF own 633,528 in total including all those bought from monthly contributions and lump sums, so not many it seems. 51% is light years away. The 2010 RST Scheme envisaged 20,000 people paying £1,500 each over 5 years underwritten by McColl to raise the £30M thought to be required to buy the Club from SDM at that time. Currently the RF have close to 2,000 paying monthly and it's my belief that only a very small percentage of the 2,600 RST members are paying monthly, possibly less than 200. So it's my guess that the RST&RF are raising about £20,000 - £25,000 per month between them, say £250,000 - £300,000 a year (at an average of £10 pppm). Even if every last RST member is or could be persauded to pay monthly then I doubt you would raise more than £500,000 a year. IF and it's a very BIG IF you could acquire 50% of the shares at 18p right now that would cost you north of £7M. But there is now way that the instititutions are selling out now for 18p/share. Assuming that there is a new share issue to raise approx £8M, that might be something like 5,000,000 shares at say 16p and would mean that a 51% stake would cost around £9-10M. The fans had the opportunity to buy the company out of insolvency but even in those very difficult times all that the RST could raise was £250,000; very commendable but nowhere near enough. King is a busted flush and all the other pretenders are full of hot air. Face facts, Ashley will increase his stake one way or another and he and a small number of institutional shareholders already control the Club, witness the 90% votes to return Easdale/Llambias yesterday. I expect that after the next share issue the top four shareholders, Laxey, MASH, Artemis and River & Mercantile will own in excess of 50% of the shares and together with Blue Pitch and Margarita will do exactly what they want when they want. Boycotting the Club by not attending matches is completely counter productive and boycotting a few SD shops is no more than a tiny pin prick in Mr Ashley's well round posterior. Ashley is in this to make money for SD but in order to do that he has to make Rangers successful first in Scotland and then at some kind of level in Europe. He and his man Llambias will be ruthless in pursuit of that objective. I doubt they'll put up with the buffoon Somers for any longer than it takes to find a replacement. Other new directors will be brought in, starting no doubt with a finance director and yes he will be paid a salary commensurate with the job; but I am confident that the time of ludicrous bonuses not based on financial performance is over. Ashley is the only show in town.
  12. I did say that Durrant would be looked after; at least now presumably he knows what he's supposed to be doing. But will he get any respect from the younger players given his demotion and is he capable of delivering in any event? Personally I would have given him a job in the ticket office, who are badly under-staffed.
  13. If McCulloch is a qualified coach thern he must know that he is completely incapable of performing at CB and recommend himself to be dropped.
  14. That may well have been true.
  15. Not the ONLY difference, Craig, he was a football player, I couldn't kick a ball to save myself, so became a referee. Also, I would venture to suggest that I have a somewhat greater command of the English language; of course that may be a matter of opinion. As to your second point; I think you have the answer to that in the Minutes of the Second Meeting.
  16. You certainly can't buy a ticket to sit in then Director's Box at Ibrox and I doubt if you can do that elsewhere. I have been privileged to have been invited to meet Directors and sit in the Director's Box at two other grounds both of which had private hospitality areas with stewards on the door armed with a list of invitees.
  17. Quite possibly but if it wasn't his intent it was a stupid thing to do and certainly sent out the message loud and clear.
  18. Brown was not "entitled" to sit in the Directors box and the point I was making was that I was never invited to sit in the directors box. That's a fair comparison I think. Removing a duly elected person without giving reason other than vague generalisation is quite different in my opinion; but I'm sure you'll say that I would say that wouldn't I. IF I was removed because I asked too many awkward questions then there may be a degree of comparison but so far as I am aware, Mr Brown was not elected to anything and I don't recall standing on the steps of the front door megaphone in hand. Anyway, I'll leave you to speculate.
  19. Not quite the same thing and I very much doubt they knew anything about what happened to me. But if they did , then I would suggest that there is a world of difference between refusing one of your most vociferous critics entry to the Directors box and removing a duly elected member of the Fans Board without a fair hearing or appeal as would be anyone's right to natural justice. This isn't the time or the place, GS; but I CAN confirm I was never offerred a seat in the Directors box nor a blazer nor did I ever request the same or any other privilege for that matter.
  20. I don't have any great love of the Easdales either, particularly Sandy; but like it or not they are Directors of the Company/Football Club and so long as they are, they call the shots.
  21. Quite so, but I wouldn't bar him or anything like that, I just wouldn't let him anywhere near the directors box.
  22. I can't find anything to disagree with there RR. It will be very interesting to see if there are any immediate personnel changes e.g McCulloch (but who would play there, Faure perhaps, bet he wished Zaliukas was fit to play). And surely he won't start Smith in LMF, Templeton or Shiels have to be better choices if we are going to win.
  23. But he's his own worst enemy. Would you let him in the Directors box? What was Ally thinking about fgs.
  24. Let's say that he is legally entitled to the one year's salary and the the deferred pay are we all happy that he takes it?
