  1. Well then they should ask why their intentions have changed.
  2. Can I correct that, hopefully for the last time. I wanted to restrict communication to elected groups, or to put it more precisely, I tabled a proposal first made on another forum, with which I agreed, that given the existence of the RFB, Rangers would no longer communicate with "unelected groups".
  3. Fair point, will email the Secretary directly.
  4. One that you have already breached when it suited you to do so.
  5. Since it is clear that the fans are totally opposed to this course of action, the RFB are failing in their constitutional duty if they do not convey these views to the Board. Asking for "clarification" of something that is abundantly clear already is nonsense. Furthermore the RFB should call for the resignation of the Chairman of the Board in view if his breach of previous commitment not to grant security over Ibrox. Then we would see if the entire RFB was accused of not acting in the best interests of the Club and removed or abolished.
  6. Yes that's true a couple of good or bad days and you are up and down like a yoyo and why I only said "targetting"; but I'm happy with my recent climb from 18th to 11th
  7. Malaga v Villarreal 10 January 2015 Controversial decision as Malaga have a "goal" disallowed, perhaps more than a minute after the referee had pointed to the centre spot. Sergi Darder (with the beard in the middle of three Malaga attackers in front of goal) is set to put the ball in the net after Asenjo in the Villarreal goal saved from Malaga RB, Rosales (right hand up outside the box), but the assistant eventually ruled correctly that striker Amrabat (the bald player pictured on the left of the three players on the 6 yard line) was offside and interfering with play in the build-up. See the exact moment at 3:11 here https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1C1RNBN_enGB433GB450&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#newwindow=1&q=malaga%20v%20villarreal&sh=0 Amrabat had the last laugh though as he scored a minute later.
  8. Some conspiracy theorists don't think that Barak Obama was born in Honolulu, HI but he's still the President of the United States.
  9. Are you kidding me, you've done nothing but attack and goad me since you came on to this forum. Why don't you just keep your advice to yourself, I'll be sure to let you know if I need any.
  10. He isn't necessarily in it or wanting to get in it just to make money, he may just like the idea of owning or partly owning a European "soccer" club.
  11. These are all excellent points but perhaps a mix of the two cultures might not go amiss? How about some cheerleaders (we did have some for a while), pre match entertainment (no, not the BB pipe band), half time entertainment (no, not the stupid can you get the ball though the hole in the goals), proper marketing, far more flexible pricing etc? I agree with Craig, just because some investors are so-called Rangers men doesn't mean they are going to be fantastic at running the Club. Mr King, for example, doesn't have much of a track record from that point of view and who knows whether running a car franchise is transferable to running a football club? It may well be, but we don't know at this point in time. What we need is a bunch of well-heeled smart businessmen who are also football fanatics and yes it would be nice if some of them understood the traditions of our Club or better still were long time supporters but that is by no means a prerequisite to success in my eyes.
  12. Well that would be for Mr Sarver and his advisers to decide but on the face of it he seems like a pretty shrewd businessman to me. NB: I have not done due diligence
  13. It's good to know that you continue look after my interests but trust you'll understand if I am equally sceptical about your advice. Regardless of the reasons for Mr Carver's interest I'm comforted that in Mr Johnston's opinion he is both credible and high calibre.
  14. Correct I should have said "buy control of" but did qualify with "at least buy a significant share of a Club".
  15. If you look at this historically then Rangers even as a second or third tier European football "franchise" and a worldwide brand, albeit both somewhat diminished at the moment, are valued ridiculously cheaply at c.£20M. You wouldn't get half a Premier League striker for that money. Sarver says that he has been looking to acquire an EPL or European Club for some time and I don't think there's any more to this than meets the eye. Rangers have fallen on hard times and there is an opportunity for anyone with deep pockets (and £20 - £30M doesn't seem to be very deep for him) to buy or at least buy a significant share of a Club with a long history (which must be mind boggling to an American if you think that Rangers were founded just 7 years after they stopped shooting and killing each other in the Civil War!). True, more investment will be needed but from an investment perspective the Club could easily treble in value over the next few years. Personally I think it's more about the prestige of owning (all or a share of) a major Scottish Institution than anything else. I place a lot of store in AJ's views and if he says "Of all the pretenders that have come along in the past few years, whether or not he has the understanding of the emotional interest in the club that some of the others have, he has certainly got the business acumen and the financial wherewithal." I'd take that as a pretty good endorsement.
  16. If it was formulated around Christmas time, 18p a share was a reasonable offer, but it's a different ball game now.
  17. Quite so. It's a fact that I have pointed out many times that 6 years after effectively being declared bankrupt and going down to the 4th level of Italian football (sic) they were playing us in the semi-final of the UEFA Cup and I'm quite sure that a bit of research would uncover articles from the time referring to it being a rematch of the 1961 European Cup Winner's Cup Final.
  18. I'm not certain but I think it's a post-Whyte thing. It's a breach of the SPFL Rules (and rightly so) not to pay your tax on time and clubs are hardly going to to red flag it themselves so it's a good idea to have such a system in place.
  19. You are right that he could have said it's not part of my job description to reply to folk like that but it does us no harm for him to quote authoritative figures in support of what we already know, that Rangers Football Club are the same Club now that was founded in 1872.
  20. Doncaster is usually very precise but a comma would have saved this sentence from appearing to be contradictory with the rest of the email. "There is no suggestion that the Club is a legal entity or has a legal personality, which is different from whatever is the legal entity or person which is the owner and operator of the Club." I think what he means is that the fact that the Club is not a legal entity, is different from the body or person which owns the Club and is a legal entity; but without the comma it reads as if the club is no different form the legal owner; which is clearly the opposite of what he means to convey.
