I don't know if I was asked specifically about my own numbers before today but if I was and answered with the percentages then I was just being diplomatic because as I said I was told in confidence. At the outset I was just told that I had been elected; then after 2 emails and a phone call I was told my percentage and that I had won by 22%; after another call I got the actual numbers for each candidate in my category (in confidence). I didn't post this whole boring process because I didn't think it was necessary. I posted the information that I was able to post. There was no attempt by me to mislead anyone. I have nothing to hide in this. Rangers have caused the situation by failing to publish the full results and I won't be slow in telling them that at the meeting.

I can only agree with the general thrust of the points that are being made here, the full figures should be released by the Club; I told them they would have to do that and I can give an assurance I will pursue this.

I don't believe there is any contradiction, Zappa. As you correctly point out the question then was "Can we have a complete breakdown of the voting numbers, please - both numbers of votes and percentages - for all candidates?" I answered honestly that " I don't have the breakdown of the voting numbers" and I don't. The question Hildy asked today is different and I have answered equally honestly. I have my own figures but not those applicable to any other candidate nor do I know the overall turnout. I don't know the exact date that I obtained my own figures as I followed up the emails by phone but it must have been within a day or two of the emails.

As I said I did that twice on 25 September following legitimate requests on here and it was also my own opinion in any event. Since I didn't get a satisfactory response, the correct thing to do in my opinion is to raise it formally at a meeting and I have said I will do that. We agree on the basic premise, kindly allow me to pursue it in my own way.

That's not reasonable, you know it's not reasonable and it's not going to happen. There will be occasions when a certain member of staff is asked to attend to deal a with a certain issue or issues but that is another matter.

I am not answering any further questions on this. As has been noted by others in this thread, and as you are ably demonstrating here, anything I say will be dissected and used against me by you. I have made my position perfectly clear in the two posts above, I have nothing further to add. Anything else is a matter for the Club.

I agree with you 100% and I made the point very forcibly at the time. An election not only has to be fair it has to be seen to be fair and the turnout and votes cast for each candidate are part of that process. I was advised the percentage vote I secured (49%) and only after much pushing did I get the percentages for all 3 candidates in my category. I agree that this is not satisfactory and I will push hard for the full figures to be released and if I have the backing of my colleagues I don't see how Rangers could resist.

It might be a little inhibiting but they can be excluded as you say and on the whole I think it's beneficial.

Where should they be then; in a cupboard and brought out from time to time?

I agree but I was just responding to Hildy's point. I don't think it's impossible in the fullness of time if the RFB is successful but a fans representative on any Club board is in a very difficult position because of confidentiality.

Yes I do; but I was given the figures in confidence and I will respect that confidence. I do not believe it is appropriate for the figures to be released piecemeal. I twice asked for all the figures to be published at the time of the declaration on 25 September. I will ask again at the next meeting.

I have some sympathy with this point but it is actually helpful to have senior staff present as they can answer certain points right away. If you review the Membership Scheme thread that Frankie has reposted then you will see that I said as much in the OP: "The proposal would be that the members would elect a Supporters Board (as in the Hamburg model) and that that Board would elect one or two members to the Club Board."

Obviously a deliberate error to keep T4C on his toes; but well spotted Christine. I must admit that I did have to do a double take on that because clearly I AM Alan; but when I realised that you had deliberately omitted the quotation marks - Don't you mean "you're" Alan? it made a lot more sense!
