  1. What's on the leaflet, or need I ask?
  2. True but they did have a major benefactor though and BTW the same man helped out Berwick as well. However, there are parallels inasmuch as they brought in players with experience at a higher level.
  3. Not quite a u-turn perhaps but at least a right-angeled turn and a long way from his original position.
  4. Not even a vote of confidence from the Chairman.
  5. That is what was in my mind when I made that post, shocking really; as I remarked to those around me last week, it's one thing playing one up v top European teams when the plan is not to lose a goal at home, it's quite another v Athletico Forfar or FC United of Ayr when you've won the league 36 points and 71 goals ahead of your nearest rivals and some members of your team are on 20x what the opposition are getting paid.
  6. I have a feeling that Moyes might actually be relieved, he must know he's out of his depth. If he gets sacked now with a couple of year's money in his hip pocket how bad is that? He can say that he didn't get a chance to put his own plan/players in place, old guard players ran the dressing room etc. If he were to get another season and fail again with really expensive signings his career is shot.
  7. I'm talking about the institutions. Anyway, I think all be revealed pretty soon. And I expect Wallace to pull at least one rabbit out of the hat, and for the avoidance of doubt I have no inside info, just a hunch. The plan has to square the all the circles at least over 5 years, so I also expect a lot of assumptions about income and expenditure in various scenarios.
  8. That's not true this season a large number of the teams we have played have been more attacking at Ibrox, for example, than Rangers.
  9. I doubt anyone could buy out the existing investors for £30 million right now and anyway that's one thing he's consistently said he doesn't want to do. If it comes to a rights issue at say 25p (and BTW I think you are correct about that) I expect most of the institutions to take up their rights in order to average down their price, so if Mr King is offered the chance to underwrite the issue at all, then probably all he'll be able to get is the shares allocated to small shareholders who don't fancy the chance of getting burned again, even at 25p. I doubt he'll end up with more than 10% that way and I equally doubt if that would satisfy him though it may solve the other issue. He might hand the RST the £130,000 or so they'd need to take up their rights and perhaps gift the same to the RF scheme (or say anything up to about £1 million each) or possibly properly constitute the UoF and give them money to buy in, who knows; he's a clever man that's for sure.
  10. Thanks for asking. I am in favour of a PROPER membership scheme and indeed co-authored an article on here with Arnold Black last August' date=' on that subject and I have often written in support. By PROPER I mean one that leads to elections for a Supporters' Board at least one of whose members is then elected to sit on the Football Club Board, and confers other significant benefits e.g. in terms of priority and discount tickets, away travel etc and not just cosmetic things like 10% off in the shop, a lapel badge and a newsletter or signing sessions. [i'] In order to get a scheme off to the best possible start we are of the opinion that all season ticket holders (next season) should be automatically enrolled as club members.* This would guarantee more or less 35,000 club members with little or no effort on the part of the club. Arnold’s thought is that there should be no membership fee for those enrolling this way at least in the first season; my own feeling is that at least a nominal amount (to be deducted from season ticket monies) or an additional £10 fee (to be added to the season ticket price) should apply; otherwise everyone would have to be granted free membership. Whilst free membership is sometimes attractive (as with the FC United of Manchester model) it artificially inflates the true membership numbers. *In future you might have to be a member to buy a season ticket. The proposal would be that the members would elect a Supporters Board (as in the Hamburg model) and that that Board would elect one or two members to the Club Board.[/i] Perhaps someone at Ibrox read it?
  11. Only if he brings Jelavic with him.
  12. It's going to cost them a pretty penny with 5 years left on his contract, although "the award of a six-year contract was essentially a PR play, with Moyes' contractual terms including a break clause that enables the Americans to sack him at far less than the full salary costs of that term. " http://www.goal.com/en-ie/news/3919/exclusive/2014/03/26/4711963/man-utd-considering-moyes-replacements. Perhaps £10 million? Plus the fact that they don't look like qualifying for Europe at all and goodness knows how much that will cost a team like Man U; perhaps £40 million including TV money http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/latest-news/bt-champions-league-deal-makes-qualification-worth-%C2%A340m- So that's around £50 million right away. Then there's all the players they won't be able to get if they are not in Europe and the existing ones that will want away. Just shows the magnitude of the problem for the Glazers; about the same as some say it will take to put Rangers back where we belong. Some candidates listed here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/10777827/David-Moyes-possible-replacement-at-Manchester-United.html but what about Lennie of London Rd fame, surely he must be high up the list, after all THEY did beat Barcelona? On a more serious note, genuinely surprised that Martinez himself isn't getting a mention, I know it's largely Moyes' team but he's upped their game to a different level. And how about a final challenge for Arsene Wenger as an outsider?
  13. I'm sure he has but doubt he (Big Eck) could do any worse.
  14. Agreed; for the current Board it's all about getting money in: new share issue, new sponsor (already announced); membership scheme to raise a million; possibly some sort of new TV/IT deal to augment the SPFL; has to be something to tap into the money abroad; perhaps some new HNWI's; and given it's a 5-year plan has to include the financial benefits of getting back into the SPL and Europe. There that didn't take but 120 seconds, simples. On the cuts: 4/5 players out; Ally has to get the budget down over next 12 months or at least not increased ahead of the SPL; possibly the bus driver/kit man and others to reaply for slightly different jobs at greatly reduced salaries; some relatively minor redundancies (asst bus driver, an accountant or two?) and other cosmetic measures; oh and I nearly forgot, directors to forego contractual bonuses for winning the 1st Division and Championship.
  15. The main man, without a doubt, he can take Ally as his assistant; more to the point what about Ally himself should be at home down there.
  16. One thing about Aird, I don't think you can accuse him of hiding, seems to me he's always looking for the ball; remember he's only a kid and hasn't exactly had the best of coaching in the first team at least. I think he shows great promise. I don't think Daly hides either, I just don't think he's much of a player. Shiels well.................................
  17. The independence of the SFA as the governing body is vital to football at all levels in this country, whatever you might think of their decisions from time to time. This is a power struggle, Doncaster (having knocked out Longmuir) v Regan; SPL (having knocked out the SFL) v the SFA. The EPL rule the roost in England; looks like Messrs Lawwell and Doncaster have been at their academy.
  18. I take it that's an exclusive, Andy. Problem about Ibrox though is that we need to use the higher powered lights to make the grass grow lush and they might fall victim to the review! is a fair shout though we often play better with 10 ourselves.
  19. It would be helpful if all your moderators adopted the same diplomatic approach as you and Frankie, not agreeing is everyone's right and privilege but constantly referring to posts you disagree with as "nonsense " , "ludicrous" etc is confrontational.
  20. A lot of truth in what he says, although the pitches argument doesn't carry much weight, it's the same for both teams.
  21. I take it you do not disagree with Mr Justice Smallwood. Why don't you just come out and say you would prefer me not to post on here at all.
  22. It's good of you to take my word for it, Zappa, but your use of the word "denied" implies that you are making an allegation against me and since you have not produced any evidence, nor is there any evidence to produce because the allegation is entirely without foundation, I would be grateful if you would withdraw the allegation. This forum is not a criminal court and I am not in the dock. As to Mr King I am sure you are familiar with with Mr Justice Smallwood's comments which are far more authoritative and knowledgeable than anything I can say.
  23. I am not quite sure which part of "none" it was that you didn't understand and I also deeply resent the inference in you repeating the same question twice effectively suggesting that I was lying in my first answer. But since you have chosen to repeat the question on a public forum, I'll repeat the answer: I have never never contacted anyone at the SFA or anywhere else about whether Dave King would be deemed 'fit and proper' to be involved with Rangers. If you have evidence to the contrary I suggest you publish it now or apologise just as publicly as you have posed the question. You might also care to remember that not that long ago you had to publicly apologise for suggesting that I had leaked a story about Mark Dingwall to the press; when the truth was that I knew nothing about it. Why do you persist in these unfounded allegations about me? What is it you are trying to achieve?
