  1. I strongly suspect that this type of ridiculous salary is restricted to the football side of the Club and perhaps some of the senior execs; I very much doubt if the hard working foot soldiers in the ticket office for example are on £20,000 a year never mind £120,000. Of course none of them probably double shifts as a bus driver, well not for Rangers anyway.
  2. You are absolutely right, I looked it up there but missed the end column.
  3. Hopefully a return to the SDL & Europe and new management in due course will rekindle your desire; meantime feel for those of us who have decided to continue watching the same dross next season.
  4. Please PM me with your mobile number and I'll coordinate. Ditto anyone else.
  5. Keep up the good work on Anglo Saxon English. I have been fortunate to see Rangers win in (Amica) Wronki, Cyprus (Anorthosis), Livorno, (Zeta) Golubovci, Lyon and Lisbon, (L's seem to be fertile territory for us) and draw 14 other games out of 32 I have attended abroad. Unbeaten 62.5 % of the time, not saying it's anything to do with me; but it's a very decent record for any team in Europe, never mind one that comes from a minor league.
  6. Beyond me why we haven't done that this season; but perhaps our lads would be too tired.
  7. Will Celtic be allowed a weekend off again to play a friendly? They will start in the CLQ1 first week in July as will 3rd in the SPL in the Europa League. 2nd in the league and cup winners start in ELQ2 in mid July. Happy holidays to them all.
  8. Agree with your assessment of those players. Cuellar was a titan and who will ever forget the chants of Carlos Cuellar Sh***** your wife; wonder if he understood? I see there is a Nonesuch unincorporated community in Woodford County, Kentucky, only 90 miles from Glasgow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonesuch,_Kentucky. Wonder what the good folks who live there are called, Nonesuchians perhaps? I also see there is some such Nonesuch River and a golf club of the same name nearby in southern Maine in the United States. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonesuch_River Apparently there was some such spelling as somesuch http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/somesuch; let's have a Somesuch Campaign, perhaps the RFFF would donate some money to this worthy cause.
  9. That's a bit harsh is it not?
  10. To be fair the game is a lot faster than in those days although certainly not more physical than when Bobby Shearer or John Greig played!
  11. It is depressing to note that the Club's share price has fallen from 31.5p to 26.5p (Bid 26.0p, offer 27.0p) since the end of March, albeit on very limited trading volumes. I doubt that this has anything to do with our depressing on field performances and can only assume that the market is taking a view based on the interim accounts and the notes thereto and the ongoing threat of fans withholding ST monies. Markets tend to anticipate rather than react to events and this may well indicate the market view of the rights issue price.
  12. Cannot argue with your criticism of Whittaker, the incident happened right in front of me and my (sadly departed) mate; the only thing I would say is that it was entirely out of character for him, the same could not be said of Bougherra. The Jelavic miss also happened at "our" end and would surely have won us the tie, as they would need to have scored twice. What with £50 for two fish suppers and two beers, all in all a terrible night.
  13. I hadn't taken into account that quite a few (myself probably included) will not take cars and there is also the ceremony to consider; so it might be best for us just to meet outside Ibrox after the ceremony, say at 3.00pm and taxi it over. Two or max three taxis should do it. Can everyone who would like to taxi over please post here so I can get an idea of numbers, thanks. After the dinner it is less than 15 mins walk to Bridge St Subway.
  14. Yes, I agree that we should not have lost at home but I was in Malmo and I can assure you that even with 10 men at 1-0 up we looked the most likely to score again in 90mins and at the least we would have taken the game to extra time until Bougherra head butted the guy. He and everyone else knew it was his last game for us so obviously he didn't care. Ally should not have played him despite the injuries we had that night but Bougherra was a disgrace. Mind you some might say that Cuellar "I want to stay at Rangers for life." comes into the same category in a different way; but he was different class and holds the record for games in a season - 65; and was central to our UEFA cup run.
  15. He's been honest, too honest perhaps; but if the senior pros can't get up for games surely the answer is obvious.
