  1. I have a couple taken on an old mobile phone but not certain that everyone will be happy to have their faces in lights albeit no names attached. However, bluebear54 was the official photographer and looked very professional so perhaps best to wait for his exclusive expose!
  2. Thanks for texts received. No more messages here or PM's please at least till afterwards! Leaving now. Awaiting reconfirm texts from charltonman, Juancorneto, Tannochsidebear and the gunslinger.
  3. What's unbelievable about saying it's better for fans to pay Rangers direct than through a credit card company?
  4. Glad I brightened up your morning. Hope to see you at the next dinner; if I'm still alive to do the organising.
  5. It goes without saying that for any director to take a bonus at this time is both crass and stupid.
  6. But I think you've been at pains to say that you don't trust the Board so how could you accept any "guarantees" from them? The Board have made it 100% clear that they will not grant the security you want and not paying your ST will not remove the Board it will sink the Club (regardless of what has gone before, that is where we are at now). Should be an interesting dinner; hopefully the food is appetising and filling; I don't want to be eaten alive.
  7. I agree with that but make no mistake, the future of our great Club (not the Board or its CEO or Mr King) in whatever form it takes is now most assuredly in the hands of its fans.
  8. On the face of it this appears pretty damning but we don't know what happened in between times and it may be that whilst concerns had been expressed, the current threats of a boycott were the straw that broke the credit card camel's back. The position of the Club is now extremely serious, even desperate and if season ticket monies are withheld then the institutional shareholders may decide to cut their losses and walk away. If the institutions don't support a new share issue, then the danger of admin 2 is very real indeed. All concerned from the Board and its CEO, Mr King, the UOF/SoS, down to Joe Fan young and old; must think hard on the consequencies of their next actions.
  9. The great day has finally arrived, all attendees please note post #365 and oblige, thanks.
  10. I hope folks will forgive me for posting this from the Celtic web site but I found Danny McGrain's tribute very moving. Danny McGrain: Sandy Jardine was a great man http://www.celticfc.net/news/5760 “Sandy Jardine was a nice man, a great player. He was a nice man to have known, a nice man to have played with and a nice man to have played World Cups with.”
  11. Does Mr Easdale have any advisers?
  12. If that's true then Wallace's credibility is further shaken; but at the end of the day it is better for fans and for Rangers to pay Rangers direct is it not?
  13. My Samsung S4 is off to the mobile phone hospital suffering from intermittent switch off syndrome and whilst all my numbers were supposed to have been transferred to the basic job I have been given as a sub, most of the recent numbers including Gersnet Dinner attendees have gone AWOL. So can I please ask everyone to text me anytime after 9.00am with Gersnet name and real name and at the same time use this to confirm that you know the taxi arrangements - 3.15pm at the junction of Edmiston Dr and PRW or that you are going direct. Sorry for inconvenience but I was going to ask for taxi confirmations anyway.
  14. Unfortunately, I have to pass on apologies from Chris Kenna as SDMC will no longer be attending the dinner. After months of trying they have finally been granted press passes for the last game so will be staying behind to interview players etc and then have to go directly to another event. This may suit some of those who do not regard themselves as photogenic but anyone who feels that this is an opportunity missed for stardom can feel free to apply directly to SDMC.

  16. In answer to my own earlier question Email from Rangers IMPORTANT – IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RENEWED YOUR SEASON TICKET OR HAVE ALREADY CANCELLED, PLEASE IGNORE THIS COMMUNICATION. Dear Alan Rangers FC would like to notify all supporters that from today, Friday 25 April, it has withdrawn the option to use credit or debit card payments for season ticket purchasers. Following today’s Business Review announcement which is available on the Rangers website here, we are contacting all season ticket holders to update them on the options available in order for them to renew their season ticket. Continued negative external comment and campaigns have created significant operating difficulties and has been threatening the Club’s orderly and progressive recovery. A current example of the difficulty being faced by the Club, and which will regrettably impact upon supporters, is that for next season supporters will now be unable to pay for their season tickets by credit or debit card. The Club’s merchant acquirer, which processes credit and debit card transactions, has advised that it would require extensive security, including a charge over Ibrox Stadium and an insurance policy at considerable cost to the Club, to protect itself against any potential liability arising from passing on monies from season ticket purchases ahead of next season’s matches. One of the major factors influencing this decision was the extensive negative coverage of calls in some quarters for supporters to refrain or delay purchasing season tickets. As previously stated, the Board will not grant security over Ibrox and therefore has regrettably decided that for the current season ticket renewal process it will proceed with direct payment only to the Club by way of bank transfer, cash or cheque payment. Any supporters who are on the automatic renewal scheme will not have their tickets renewed automatically and will also require to renew their seats individually. The Club recognises that this will inconvenience a significant number of supporters, however in the Board’s opinion, the demands placed upon the Club by the merchant acquirer are not in the best interests of Rangers. Please note however that whilst credit card and debit cards cannot be used to pay for season tickets, the continuous credit card schemes remain unaffected. To assist supporters at this time, the Club is extending the season ticket renewal window until Friday 16 May, to give every supporter sufficient time to renew their season ticket As a season ticket holder who automatically renewed your season ticket for the season ahead, due to the above changes we have not and will not be taking payment on Wednesday 30 April as was previously communicated. We are however currently holding your seat for your renewal. To allow you to secure your seat for the coming season all we need you to do is select a new method of payment from the alternative methods below by the new season ticket renewal deadline of Friday 16 May. Season ticket holders who had selected to auto renew in 4 instalments can still renew in instalments using one of the options outlined below. If you had opted to auto renew your season ticket in instalments, please refer to your previous form and deduct £10 from your first instalment only. If you had opted to auto renew your season ticket in full, please refer to the price on your previous form and this will remain unchanged. Please note that if you do not submit payment by the revised renewal deadline, the Club reserves the right to release your seat for general sale. PAYMENT OPTIONS OPTION 1 – in full by bank transfer, cheque or cash. Bank Transfer – For UK payments please use the following account details: Metro Bank, One Southampton Row, London, WC1B 5HA, Account Name: Rangers FC - Direct Ticket A/C, Sort Code: 23-05-80, Account Number: 14222855. IMPORTANT INFORMATION – if you select to pay by Bank Transfer you MUST only pay for one season ticket at a time and ensure that you use your correct 9 digit Rangers Number along with your seat details with a space in between as payee reference in order for your season ticket renewal to be processed. Your individual payee reference would therefore be XXXXXXXXXXXX Cheque – write cheque guarantee card number, expiry date, RANGERS NUMBER and seat details on reverse and make payable to The Rangers Football Club Ltd. If returning by post, please send to Rangers TICKET CENTRE, Ibrox Stadium, 150 Edmiston Drive, Glasgow, G51 2XD. Cash – only in person at Rangers ticket centre. If you have any queries regarding the change in payment methods, please contact Rangers Ticket Centre or email ticketcentre@rangers.co.uk Thank you for your continued support RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB So (without knowing which bank Rangers were using before, but I think this is no change) it seems to me for folks like me on auto renew, all that has happened is that the Board have reacted to the criticism of the cancellation date vis-a-vis the publication of the review AND removed the £10 charge. There are 3 ways to pay in full and 4 ways to pay by 4 instalments and a 10 instalment option.
  17. Does anyone know Richard Gough's business experience? And before anyone gets too excited this is just a question. I have tried googling and cannot find anything.
