  1. I think the issue there is separating lies from opinion. The other problem is that as with almost any organisation, whilst you may will have a complaint upheld; getting them to take action against the person concerned is extremely difficult if not impossible; or at least getting them to confirm that they have done so is impossible unless it becomes obvious i.e. the person concerned has been sacked. Companies will always hide behind confidentiality/ internal matter etc etc. I have just had a major complaint upheld by a bank against one of their employees and received £500 compensation but I cannot get them to say what action they have taken (if any) against the person concerned.
  2. I don't think that winning every game is entirely unrealsistic on the evidence so far (granted all the wins have been against "bottom half" teams, but one reason that they are in the bottom half is that we have only played 4 games and beaten each of them in one of them), I think we will win this league a lot easier than the SFL3. A) We have a better team (and haven't had anything like our strongest team out so far) B) The opposition are a bit better and in strange kind of way that makes them easier to play against. But in reality undefeated is a fairer target. However, I think if McCoist were to set a target of winning every game (and I know he won't); it might stretch the players, although he would be accused of being disrespectful to the other teams.
  3. I guess if they sacked every journalist that offended every viewer there wouldn't be many left.
  4. Yes and it's obviously a sore point with a lot of people; I suppose you could always go on a Licence Fee strike?
  5. Remember that TBK's were courting the RST and some of their Board were frequent guests in the main stand at one point.
  6. Jim Spence is a bit of a looney (hope that's allowed, it's meant as a term of endearment, honest) and quite harmless really, about as effective as a meerkat toy but not as good-looking. Once we start worrying about him, then we really are in trouble.
  7. If McCollCo give the existing shysters a vote of confidence then no one will have any confidence in them. This is obviously an attempt to protect themselves at the AGM. None of these people are daft, that's for sure.
  8. Personally, I think it's a poor petition because it doesn't specify the "several leaks of confidential information relating directly to sensitive information about the club, the employees and the current state of play within the " investigation". " Therefore it was easy for HMRC to answer and appear to be the good guys. What really matters now is the Appeal.
  9. As previously reported, Martin Bain is currently a director of Vicast Ltd, a media company; as is McClelland, P Murray and Nicola Young. Jacquie Gourlay, ex Head of Business and Bain's right hand woman at Ibrox is an employee. Bain also has a business relationship with Andrew McCormack. Draw your own conclusions.
  10. I don't think that could have been the real Martin Bain who is quite slim and would bounce off Mather.
  11. To be fair the statement does say “In the event of Celtic’s qualification"
  12. Me neither, too prone to errors for me; but he's what we've got. I would have taken Alan Hutton in a heartbeat but it would have been about an 80% cut in wages for him and given his demands to Mallorca not on obviously.
  13. Not well up enough on this to be sure I can agree; but I would have thought that in the case of the institutions it should have named the person and capacity in which that person is signing and in the case of indiviuals if the shares are not in their names then the same is true. Anyway, appears to be moot now and in my book a complete cave in by McCollCo; but perhaps they are agreeing now but not agreeing to support the others at the AGM. I doubt that as it would surely be part of a pact that they would all support each other.
  14. Yes it does and surely Foster is a recognised RB, albeit he has spent a lot of time playing on the left, he is right footed is he not?
  15. His teams weren't playing in the 3rd and 4th division.
  16. You might think so............
  17. No I didn't TBH, well on second thoughts I guess I did think you were poking fun at my sheltered upbringing. Anyway I learnt two things tonight so that's not bad.
  18. Yes I did and I am not ashamed to admit it. I have also had to look up "dobber" and found that it could mean: OR OR OR OR I'll settle for #3 although I am not a Cypriot, but would be equally glad to get back on topic.
  19. This was inevitable when Ralph Topping stepped down form the SPL. The composition of the SFA Board was: the Office Bearers (Stewart Regan, Chief Executive; Campbell Ogilvie, President; Alan McRae, First Vice-President, and Rod Petrie, Second Vice-President), plus Ralph Topping (SPL), Tom Johnston (Junior FA) and Barrie Jackson, the Scottish FA’s first-ever independent non-executive director. The composition of the Professional Game Board was: Jim Ballantyne (SFL), Neil Doncaster (SPL), Peter Lawwell (SPL), David Longmuir (SFL), Alan McRae (Scottish FA), Campbell Ogilvie (Scottish FA), Stewart Regan (Scottish FA), Sandy Stables (SHFL) and Ralph Topping (SPL). So 4 people sat on both Boards, not a very good governance model one might suggest. As things stand now with the SFL gone, the SPFL Board consists of Steven Thompson of Dundee Utd, Eric Riley of Celtic, Aberdeen’s Duncan Fraser, Les Gray from Hamilton, Mike Mulraney of Cowdenbeath and Bill Darroch of Stenhousemuir plus CEO Neil Doncaster. From memory, there is a caveat in the SFA Rules about how they would deal with a change in the league structure but I would think that at least one if not two of the new SPFL Board will be elected to the PGB; and my guess is that Riley and Thomson will be the top candidates, perhaps joined by one of the lower divison reps. Quite why the other clubs think that having two represenatives from one club in the top echelons of power is appropriate is beyond my comprehension but that is the state of play that we have to live with.
