Crazy talk???? I think you will find there are 1000s of crazy talkers who agree with me - shame they some arent on here. Boyd - Plum! Cant run, cant control a football, overweight, misses more than he scores - well below standard Adam - A 6th year running around the playground with 1st years trying to pretend he is the man These 2 are St Mirren level at best. If Boyd was so good then teams would be queing up for him right now - but only Cardiff have a sniff of interest - says it all really!!!

Who said keep Miller?? He is here to stay anyway. However boyd cant play football. If he finally takes a chance after 83 misses he gets praised - they guy is unfit and i honestly say hand on heart that I would be a better player than him. Its the Boyds, Burkes, Adams, etc which has brought us down to a level where we finished 3rd and havent won the league for so long.

Agreed, id play Aaron aswell. I was hoping for Beasley to get a run on the left but if Aaron is a better player, more dangerous player then play him. Beasley is still lightweight and injury prone and even may be a better impact sub player.

On paper I am very happy with our signings overall because we balanced the squad out much better eventually. Everyone will be judged over a few months for me, I dont want to give knee jerk reactions. Im not a massive Miller fan but i have always liked him for Scotland but playing for Rangers is slightly different that Rangers arent underdogs and hoping to snatch something on the break. Right now Im as in the air as everyone as to who the best striking partnership is from our list of strikers.

The youngsters are being pushed back in the pecking order at the moment. They should all have been given a chance a few weeks ago when we were struggling.

Wija is correct, it will be an entire waste of time of we dont utilise players properly. I will back Adam etc if they are picked but they have had too many chances its time for them to wait until the next person plays poor. You just know there will be a lot of gruntled voices if they see McCulloch and Adam in the team at the moment. And the thread title isnt a bad shout - a new start, we could be looking to change the back 4 over the next 9 months so by the start of next season we have a new look defence. But as SA says a few players have to be shipped out the door. There is a lot of dead wood and players who just arent good enough to bring the league home over a season - I think everyone knows who Im on about.

Have they not got internet in schools???

I would play Novo wide right aswell if its 4-3-3/4-5-1 but id also give him a run through the middle in a 4-4-2. We need pacey players against Aberdeen on Saturday, if we get that then we could give them a dooing. The options are great though and choosing a XI is getting difficult.
-
Would go with Mendes, Thomson and Davis to start at Pittodrie on Saturday then unleish young Aaron at some point or even start him on the left of a forward 3. Has Edu's work permit gone through? Watch McCulloch and Boyd start again this weekend though

Fook me - Marv! Khizanishvilli was another I was going to add today. I was thinking about taking Konterman off the list coz I never added Berg and De Boer.

Got to be: Whittaker______Bougherra_______Broadfoot________Papac

Disagree SA, i prefer shirts without collars

A 0-0 then! But with a weakened squad I didnt expect much. Im sure Fraser will give us the highlights when he is on. England still look shite BTW

I just totally wondered where the stumble on the deal had come from after I assumed it was a done deal. I wasnt aware it was Fulham's fault, i thought that they accepted the bid we offered. Right now I also think there would be a proportion of our support who wouldnt be surprised if a deal fell through - Im however not one of them who thinks this one would fall through for any reason coming from Rangers.
-
Sorry i forgot to get the UK versions of the papers sent across so i could see Fulham taking the blame. I dont care what it sounds like to you but it certainly isnt anything to do with paranoia

IIRC DA played Porrini and Vidmar at full backs when Numan was unavailable but it still worked well. But DA had McCann, Johannsen and Kanchelskis for his wide men also. The quality we have now isnt as good as it was then but its certainly the best options since then simply due to the fact we have went out and bought real midfielders. However all the new signings still have to prove it to us over a season, but this is the best midfield on paper in a good few years.

Is likely to be sorted today? Or does WS maybe feel he has brought 1 option too many and Gers are stalling??
-
I agree with BTBBilly, a 4-3-3 would be our best bet. Id have Thomson to do the graft and tackling then Mendes and Davis to do the creating in the centre. Then 2 wide players and 1 striker. As many strikers as we have, absolutly NONE of them have shown any good form. Lafferty has started games ok but faded later, Velicka was good preseason but was poor against Falkirk until he scored, and everyone knows I think Boyd makes the team weaker. But its still early days, WS needs to decide who to play with and give it a bash, unfortunaetly he seems to be going with Boyd and Velicka which is a bad option.

I kinda agree Craig, but Im thinking with Mendes in the team it could compliment Davis a lot. The best way to beat Celtic is have a go at them and I dont think they can cope with teams running at them - you saw Dundee Utd give them a hard time on Sunday - therfore the more attacking players in the team the better - so playing Davis and Mendes may be the way to go against them.
-
All we needed was someone in midfield to take a bit of mantle and stand up, I think we'll get that in Mendes. Agree with comments on Davis above, he can start but doesnt have to be a touchline wide winger, he can play inside right and more central. Under Advocaat we often had 4 real midfielders none who were natural wingers - Reyna or Tugay with Gio, Barry and Albertz and it worked a treat in games. I cant wait to see the team whwn everyone is available
