  3. I would assume that playing 32 games for Schalke in Germany's Bundesliga et al, and 27 more games in the top league in Belgium at Cercle Brugges, by the age of 21, shows that some football brains rate him. Likewise, he wouldn't end up with ManCity's u21s either. He hardly had a good run in the team or a decent start either (23 games with an average of 38 mins per game) ... yet for some reason people want every player to have an instant impact in a totally alien (by football standards) environment. Some do, others don't. IIRC, NIAR hero Hateley took almost a season before he came truly good alongside McCoist and/or MoJo. MB indicated that he will be here next season, so why not give him a run now. Probably not against the Scum, though.
  4. It's his first full season as a professional footballer in a top team environment ... with ever changing roles and players near him. If I had a say, I'd play Matondo on the left, Tillman and Raskin through the middle, and Sakala on the right. Colak and Morelos up top, Davies, Goldson, and Souttar in defence, with Jack the DM.
  5. No hatchets allowed inside Ibrox, or Edmiston House, for that matter.
  6. I think it is time for Rousseau to get his gifs ready ...
  7. If it comes to pass, make sure you put your smartphone on the table and make it clear to the interviewer et al that the record app is running.
  8. Hey, this is a Rangers board, after all. I truly have given up on this season a month or two ago. Beale or not, we do the same stuff over and over again, same players, same tactics. Even after the season was gone, we go on with the same dross. Yes, there are injuries, and truth be told, much of our season was ravaged by that. But that sounds like a lame excuse if you see the above, i.e. ... same stuff over and over again, same players, same tactics. We have a decent enough bunch of players to make next season a better one, yet we also need to chuck quite a few of the "old hands" as well as changing tactics for teams like the shyte dross we faced today. Hope dies last, is the saying. But hope doesn't look very healthy in the here and now either.
  9. Season was gone before today, so a chance to do something different was there. It never materialized, so the jury is out on Mr. Beale and his gang. You live in hope for that cup semi-final, but the stark truth is, that this team isn't good enough (and some of them know it). BTW, no.we didn't need Kent for today. Is of the same bang-average category that hasn't served us well for the best part of the last 4 or 5 years - Europe apart.
  10. Really, what a shithole of club and place this is. Faking fouls and injuries, throwing balls away, "all for the cause" ... all "British football" stood for has gone down the drain ...
  11. Defeatist nonsense 😜
  12. IEven in the proof pic you coulds see Miovki's arm being ahead of anyone, not to mention that guy in the middle keeping McGregor distracted. Nonetheless, a simple goal.
  13. Have a look ... but be aware of many clickbait-headlines for the same player / info NewsNow - Rangers
  14. He's just keeping you happy. πŸ€ͺ
  15. Has anyone actually checked how many of our signings since 1988 were actually RCs? It is kind of "interesting" to see m(h)edia people drumming that drum, when in fact it is only them who keep this up and "hot". Somehow, you have to validate your existence as a journalist, it seems.
  16. Lets have a look: Right now, it looks a good bet that McGregor, Helander, Davis, and Morelos won't be here, and I would assume Kent and Kamara neither. Ofoborh is essentially non-existent. Dunno about Tavernier. Likewise, I would assume that if bids come in, we may lose Wright and Barisic. We will most likely have Lawrence and Roofe back, who knows for how long. I'd sure give Arfield another year, his input, especially from the bench has been vital and he looks fit as ever. Hagi is essentially a "new signing" Lowry, King, and Devine are waiting in the wings, no real idea about the rest of the B teamers. So I would assume there should be at least five newcomers, with most of them starters.
  17. Well, IMHO, we were bound to beat them all afternoon, yet, we managed to give another 2 poor goals away, 5 withing 7 days. Some feat. Our attacking play is as good as it gets. Sakala, Morelos (or any other striker) and Cantwell make a productive front three, why would anyone recall Kent? Raskin is the driving motor from deep midfield, Tillman good enough to be creative behind the front three, and getting into free spaces. The three subs didn't make much sense (nor would I have withdrawn Sakala), but brilliantly held the line and set up Morelos, while Arfield flick through the goalie's legs was just sublime, as was Cantwell's pass. A BIG hat's off to Cantwell. What a display for the full 90, even tracking back hard in the 92nd despite being on a yellow.
  18. Doing a pro-Kent stunt here, Tillman set up the first goal with a neat pass to Sakala πŸ˜‰
  19. After our goal, St. Mirren gave us about an ounce or two more pressure on the centre-halfs, and they easily fell into their sloppy passes mode. Once the ref didn't whistle for that foul on Sakala, my gut feeling said, "just wait and see" ... and rightly so, we defended like amateurs, were just ball-watching and that O#Hara shot capped it all off. If anything, we need some decent centre-halfs next year, people 100% switched on for the full 90, doing the simple things, and don't panic.
  20. Let's put it this way: I wouldn't throw them on from the off either. Yet, we essentially go 4-2-3-1 again, when we might easily have thrown in Matondo on either wing and play Sakala next to Morelos. Anyway, having Raskin fit means that we look more attacking than with Jack and Lundstram. It has to be clear where everyone is, as far too often, our "attackers" rove around and we have far too many open spaces and thus the defense can cope with us easily enough.
  21. Well, he's got a contract at Barca till 2026 and is currently "valued" in the Euro 3m bracket. I doubt that the lad harbors any wishes to join a Scottish team for long, but who knows. He is a CM and thus would compete with Raskin, Jack, and Lundstram (with Davis sure bound for retirement). And, obviously Kamara.
  22. No, I mean a Beale target, back in the day. Would have to dig that info up from the days when Matondo signed.
  23. Goldson, Colak, Wright, Ridvan, Jack and Kent out? How the hell lose we players who are not playing re Wright, Ridvan, and Colak? Here was hope that some of them might step in in place of the standard fare, but ... So what have we left ... McGregor Tavernier - Souttar - Davies Lundstram Cantwell - Raskin - Tillman - Matondo Sakala - Morelos The back three screen the defensive half, with Lundstram the sole DM. perhaps stepping into the hole left by the captain. The rest is meant to keep Saints busy in their own half and, if necessary, track back. Alternatives might be Hagi, Arfield, on the bench Barisic and Devine, plus a few available youngsters. My gut says that we will have a neat standard-fare back 4, a single striker and perhaps even Kamara partnering Lundstram or Raskin in DM.
  24. 16 days left. BTW, AFAIK, Matondo was a Beale target / wish, rather than a Wilson one. We will see in the coming weeks whether Beale will utilize his squad in a way that differs from what he did so far. Wouldn't bet too much on it, though.
