  1. Just to compare this ... how much money are other clubs losing per day? While I am at it, the admins say they want to save 1m a month, not that we are losing 1m a month. If they agree to the proposal of the players, these "losses" should go down quite a bit, so where else could they make any cuts? Ally already works for free, it seems? With regard to the HMRC thing (No. 14) ... the admins told the RSA representatives ... Well ...
  2. This may answer your question about what our admins have been doing these days. And I would assume that this is not the only work accomplished.
  3. That is maybe because we are not "just another football club", things are not overly clear and information easily obtainable, potential buyers linger about (or not). Quite a few possibilities out there to explain this. Unless I am mistaken they gave investors another 10 days to show up, while having 8 weeks for their first report. We do not exactly know what they are actually doing 24/7, btw.
  4. They haven't received any substantial sum from Europe and IMHO desperately hope to sell one of their superstars Traitor O'Gheady-like for a large sum. Had we managed to retain the title this season and they wouldn't have survived the next CL qualifiers, their alarm bells would have been ringing big time, IMHO. Just look at the size of their squad these last three to four season, 30odd players. If you average them at 5k a week they would shell out 600k alone for those players a month. But honestly, I do not care about their welfare in the slightest. (Of course, 5 years ago I would have minded about them going bust or whatnot. But these days, I would not like to be asked what my opinion of a Celtic administration would be ... )
  5. Yes, so on the one hand they are brooding over the amount of points deducted if we go into liquidation or may be in administration come next season. And if that does not come to pass, we get chucked out of the SPL for supposedly giving players two contracts. Aha. The end result for them when losing us would be the same, but that will aparrently not matter right now. BTW, it should be those who gave them such deals (if any) and those who did such deals (if any) who should be banned from football, not the "club as an institution". Dunno, but Bluedell recently related that Celtic is actually a double-company-club, with one owning the ground and the players, while the other receives all the gate money and pays staff and players. All a touch strange ...
  6. But one should take notes who actually comes up with this. Know your enemies and all that ...
  7. On a sidenote, does it tell you about the precarious situation with some SPL clubs if ticket income from a (single) Rangers game means that they cannot pay their players in full a month later?
  8. As I said somewhere else, releasing players may make the club looking better financially, but at the same time buyers will be aware that to keep Rangers attractive, they would have to buy new players too. It might be wise to keep the or some of the household names and ask them to play for a lower wage for the time being, than to sign up no-names or new names.
  9. ... and we would be commended world wide for our participation of handing money into and thus developing Scottish football by entertaining these low key teams and giving them far greater ticket money than they could ever dream of, even if it is only a fraction of what SPL teams would get.
  10. I hear Rooney is on 200k a week. Others will be too. This would be ridiculous sums being asked for hospitality et al, or shirt deals and the like. Last time I heard ManU debts were in the region of 700m ... and I for one don't think they can sustain their team with TV money and other income alone. That said, ManU or Barca and Real may do this, but about 80% of the rest of the EPL don't. On a sidenote, if a sunstorm shuts down Sky's satellites for a months or two, I could imagine that the EPL bubble will burst big time. But that's another point.
  11. They have yet to define what they think is sectarian, or bigotted or whatnot. The beaks simply hid and hide behind the UEFA judgement and as long as there is none against the Hooped Horrors or any other club, they shirk away from harrassing them openly. Very shameful indeed. As it is now, the police officer and steward has a) a tough job to do (since he has no tangible guideline) and b) the freedom of choice (he could be a mhank after all) what he deems to be chargeable. That is the status quo since 2007 and exactly nothing has changed. As I said time and again, WE (the club) should have gone out and tell the support what songs are allowed and which are not. At least inside Ibrox. As it is now, others decide about the songbook and what "we mean" by singing certain chants and words. As long as this continues, we will lose out. BTW, I am not advocating the singing of sectarian (whatever that is) or bigotted (whatever that is) chants, just stating the status quo. They have the UEFA club to beat us with and do it cheerfully. They have no such club for the rest and shirk away to get one.
  12. They have invented rules for us (Lafferty's Law), changed rules for us (McGregor found guilty on BBC instigated TV evidence ... and nothing has been done to harrass a number of other players doing the same to us), brought in this Lunny character who found Aluko guilty of nothing and banned him for two games. Rest assured, the current malcontent levels are high enough to see them invent something draconic for us now. That said, the rules for teams in administration are cast into SFA/SPL stone. While we are in admin, the money due to other clubs is being thrown into the pot, which is unfortunate for them, but that is the law. What we could do is go to a couple of games and pay tickets to watch e.g. Dunfermline play. That would regain much of the respect lost by Whyte's actions, I would assume. Coming to think of it, this is something that could be done with any collected saveRangers money - paying money due to the Pars. Hearts and the Tangerines can wait ... not least because of their recent behaviour. As I asked before, you do wonder what the situation was with Motherwell, whether there was any money due to other clubs when going into admin. For that would be a precedent?
  13. That is true enough and a light on the horizon for those smaller clubs, who are left within the shadows of the Reals, Barcas, ManUs et al. Yet, while I whole-heartedly agree to this policy, I wouldn't be surprised if this bubble bursts once the big guns of Europe and their massive lobby (TV, commercial et al) just say: Shut up. Either you play by our rules or we break off and start a cool European League under no auspices whatsoever bar our own. FIFA and UFEA may threaten to their hearts' content, but the players playing for these clubs and 50k to 200k a week wouldn't mind if they are banned from any other competition.
  14. First, I'd like to point out that this is just a recap of the story broken about 5 times last week. Each day we heard that xyz players were in for the chop ... until the admins actually told us that talks were ongoing. They also told us yesterday - this reporter must have missd it though - that while players could agree to play for free, someone still needs to pay their insurance stuff and all, which might (!) be contractually difficult to do. Not saying that is impossible, but we'll have to keep that in mind. On the same note however, those willing to make a bid soon may (!) tell those players to stay about, take a break from it all and be ready once they come in. Just as food for thought. As opposed to some other poster, my glass is still half full rather than half empty, so I think about positives here, as minimal as they might appear right now. I would assume if players e.g. agree for a wage cap of 2k a week, we would save a lot while those who get less now remain untouched. Whether that makes up a million per month remains to be seen, but I would be surprised if the admins go for broke here and try to reach that within the first month of administration. Cutting the squad down even more would seriously hamper the attractivity of the club for potential buyers too, since they would have to invest pretty soon after coming in. On a sidenote, one may ask the admins whether fan money from e.g. "save Rangers" can't solely be used to sustain the staff (wage cap included) to stave off redundancies. Something, I think, every creditor will agree to?
  15. Another positive belter and the day is still young (over here).
  16. Maybe so ... still there is a "unlikely" involved, so that is an assumption by the admin. Not saying that this might not be a stumbling block, but people like Paul Murray will know this and IMHO taking over a football club is hardly ever a venture that makes money. You can try to keep losses at a minimum, and possibly hope for some transfer income and European money in days to come. But anyone willing to invest into the club will know that money needs to be spend to make it attractive for fans too.
  17. Of course, it is not March 31st just yet.
  18. This is all very hypothetical. Sure no-one on here wants us playing in the 3rd division. But what they want to impose on us now is simply off limits. There are guidelines how administration is handled and you do wonder - with e.g. the money to be paid to various clubs - what the status quo was when Motherwell went into administration. Right now it looks like some clubs sniff a chance to rub it in and get the biggest gain, rather than looking at facts or existing law. And we have been keeping a dignified silence far too long IMHO to let us being bullied about. Especially not by our great rivals in the SPL. If liquidation comes to pass. For the time being I keep my fingers crossed that someone/-many step up to the plate before March 16.
  19. As much as the English Leagues would appeal, I'm afraid they will not let us. Or UEFA will not let us, or FIFA or whomever has a say. As for the measures being talked about ... utter nonsense. They like to quarter and draw and castrate and torture the witch before it is burned alive at the stake. Any half-sane person looking at this will see that and whatever they may decide, we could challenge it at any relevant court in no-time. But as has been said, should there be a newco, we should start in Division Three and let them rot altogether in the shadow-SPL with a TV-deal that will be even more laughable than it is now. If they actually get one. Coming to think of it, going by the recent hysteria, theywould most likely even try to impose penalties on the newco in Division 3 as well.
  20. These people are the only source of genuine information. While they do leave a fair amount of possibilities, it is not exactly the doom-and-gloom end of days scenario we are fed by the media for days. We and any potential buyer should keep a sharp eye on who is amongst the prime offenders with regard to the doom-singing and giving of wrong information.
  21. Something that just sprang to mind ... given that HMRC wins the case (and we for the time being just accept it), wouldn't it be the supporters' as much as the club's obligation to pay this EBT bill? The reasoning is quite simple: if it is true that we "paid" these players from/via the EBTs and they brought success to the club in one way or another, the "service" as such has been done but not been paid for in full. So while it would hurt now, we would simply pay for the success we had back then. Not ideal and sure not much of a topic if we win the case (and HMRC do not pursue it till the end of days), but methinks we all agree to an extent that we probably walked some sort of a grey-area tightrope. People will sure come and claim that SDM's to blame and should pay up ... but coming from a Germany background were players and staff are usually paid by club membership schemes et al, I think the success we bought back then needs to be paid for. If SDM and cohorts take in part in that, all the better ... and it would sure raise their status amongst the Bears, if only a little.
  22. Which areas? HAring after money of Whyte or the like? I mean, I fully understand the frustration, but law stuff (finding and getting money) takes its time and can't be hurried with a club or the like. Could it be done faster? Maybe? Possibly? Who knows?
  23. The admins are the court's men and if they show any hint of impartiality, they will be jobless in no time. Or so I am told. Admins interview in the Scotsman
  24. 2 out of 50k make the headlines. I wait till Double Standards shows us the singsongs at Pittodrie yesterday and what the police did about this.
  25. In times of these those with blue blood in their veins come to the fore. And whatever I had to say about their abilities on the park will take a major step backwards and wiped from history by the character shown these last few weeks.
