  1. ... that is why we need a good QC. On a sidenote, I find the apparent ultimatum to Green - that the newco would take a penalty or not being voted back in SPL/SFA - being nothing short of coercion. That's why we need a good QC.
  2. Who needs World Wars and Ibrox disasters if you have a 140th year such as this?
  3. ... and that is what the Court of Session and a good QC is for.
  4. The point is who does the talking. Most idots they ask are those who hated us before. Whether they represent the large percentage of their support or any objective meaning is another matter. As of punishments, I would assume they'll have to be wary in what they do for what "crime".
  5. ... if the SPL still exists in its current format? Probably nothing. But at some stage it gets ridiculous and higher authorities will take note. There are precedents in Europe and Britain and we are made to pay for deeds outwith the club's and the support's reach. We do need a good QC though.
  6. So by the looks of it, the solicitor who works for Celtic and the SPL has seen the evidence and deems it worthy of another and deeper investigation, since it may have broken the guidelines? That's what "prima facie" means? As I wrote in the other thread, if it was used as double-contract, what sort of punishment could they actually hand out? WOuldn't that be checking the evidence for every single player and every single case? Would that open the door for investigations of EBT use by Celtic too? No matter whether tax was paid to HMRC for it or not, for this doesn't matter if it is a double-contract. Speaking of which ... weren't loads of Scum players and TLB themselves not having payments made from/into that strange film business? Does that come into play here? Just looking for a level playing field.
  7. It remains the question what they can actually do under current rules? Can they actually whip up new laws and rules as they go along? Would they do that if something similar happened to another club? Did they do it when Gretna bit the bullett, Dundee and Motherwell went into admin. What I, as zappa rightly pointed at, would look for are precedents. There are none in Scottish football, there are in English football though. I asked it before: who voted fro newco Leeds United to join the English league place instead of "vacated Leeds United oldco"? All member clubs of that division?
  8. The point is that the open public is not someone/-thing who would know. Or would be told. We can assume that they don't have the funding, but matter of fact, we have no clue.
  9. The point is that whether this is as "legal" as the SFA embargo was? They have rules and guidelines to obey, much like the SFA has. If they have no such stuff for a newco, bad for them. They should whip them up and pass them. (Though I have no doubt that they manage that in no-time.) Stripping titles ... would mean that they have hard evidence on any miissuse of the EBTs and if they found something, it should be reported and laid bare in an legally sound way. Have they the powers of stripping a team of titles? If so, where does it start or end? With a single player who played 5 games and getting naughty 30k and thus had next to no influence, or large scale misuse? Can the SPL actually strip us of titles when the SFA should be the body investigating? For once, again, I can see them working neatly hand in hand though. In any case, we should challenge any claim for missuse and check out whether this is actually true. Obviously, we would know (or rather, someone would knew), but then again, this EBT use is muddied water anyways. And while we are at it, no matter whether the Scum paid for their own EBTs, having them running fullfills the same legal problem for the SPL/SFA that we now encounter.
  10. As I said before, IMHO, penalizing Rangers more than what was being done is essentially the same as blaming and punishing the Costa Concordia herself, their low-level crew, and the passengers for the ship's sinking.
  11. You know what they say about bloggers? Not always it is true, but in this case ... NB: No need to poison this board with such bile.
  12. King will solely be knocking on D&P's door claiming that he had a verbal agreement to get first pick of the shares. AFAIK, he can't buy anything or do anything. So what's he doing here apart from creating malcontent? And, BTW, if he gets a finger on RAngers, the press will have an even plain'er playing field with an apparent tax evader near our helm. NB: He picks always the most sensible times to throw in another flask of oil into the fire. One starts to see why he's much liked down in the RS of A.
  13. As I said yesterday, while their fan representatives scream for blood, you do have to ask how much of their support do they actually represent? IMHO, the chairmen seek a curtain to hide behind. Furthermore, while there are some resentments against us in general, I for one doubt that beyond the Scum und the Dons, the average supporter of the rest will not stay away from their clubs because of us still being in the SPL. At the end of the day, they know exactly who will win the title and what their chances of winning even a game in Europe will be.
  14. If we are suspended for one year, would that mean that we could - effectively - loan all our players out for one season and have them back the season after next. Would we get straight re-entry into the SPL? IMHO, whatever decision they will take bar voting us back in, they will rue it.
  15. On a sidenote, if we drop out of the SPL, that will end the 11-1 vote, right? As in, the Scum loses power in their play with the SPL teams ... even though they have plenty of vassals drooling at their feet, it seems.
  16. I asked this before: is there a time limit to reclaim any "unpaid" taxes? It's not murder, genocide or the like, so there sure is a limit. On topic, I would love is some of the "old" guard would come to help us, especially if we are send down to Div. 3 and our star people are inevitably forced out (external pressure from national coaches spring to mind). People like Boumsong, Novo, Cousin et al. Good enough for the SFL and able to teach the youngsters a trick or two.
  17. Matter of fact, my only sentiments (which does not say it is a lot, BTW), will go to Ross County, ICT, and St. Johnstone. The rest, IMHO, can meet their doom head on.
  18. No, but at least they will start talking and strike a deal in some capacity or another.
  19. I for one assume that should Rangers be sent to Division 3, there will be no real point for Zeus et al to stay on. The return for the years ahead will be minimal, investment interest will be low, image will not play role, so I do assume they will sell at the right price.
  20. Snatched from FF ... We will remember! We will remember your laughter We will remember your cheers We will remember your hatred We will remember your sneers We will remember you shouted about administration We will remember you then wanted liquidation We wil remember how you spouted all your lies We will remember how you spoke of our demise We will remember how you filled your papers with hate We will remember how you all laughed at our fate We will remember the bbc and radio Clyde We will remember how their gloating they couldn't hide We will remember guidi, young and speirs We will remember how you laughed and wiped away tears We will remember you said the players would get no pay We will remember how you wanted our trophies taken away We will remember how you said it was the Rangers no more We will remember how into our history you tore But one day soon and it won't be long We will remember those who have done us wrong For we will be back and you can bet Those who laughed we will never forget .
  21. Who did the vote for the newco Leeds in England, BTW? Was it a simple English FA thing, or did the "board" of the First Division (or whatever it was) decide? Just out of interest.
  22. Dunno whether their deal stands with the newco.
  23. Zappa ... forlanssister (much like gunslinger) is nitpicking at each and every bit that is negative about Green and Co. (and before that D&P). I come to the point of disregarding much of that of late. It's not a head in sand - attitude, since I can read and have brains myself, it's the constant negative spin that oozes out of some chaps, spiced with a fair amount of doom-mongering. If it makes their existence better, fair enough. They are bound to receive some "stick" for it nonetheless.
  24. Your gospel becomes boring.
  25. Sniping at others boards, are we not? Well, at least you got it off your chest.
