Rangers Owner Craig Whyte Meets With Bigoted Vanguard Bears Group
der Berliner replied to Ergatrude's topic in Rangers Chat
Had a few "bouts" with him last season, tried to be as polite and objective as I am with anyone. It did and does not work. Replies will be turned on their heads, new "facts" thrown in or yours dismissed or left uncommented. Utterly unprofessional behaviour and it is sad that e.g. the coach of Glasgow City is still giving her views on Scottish women football at this website. Andy truly drags it all down into the gutter ... On a sidenote, methinks the reports on the Hooped Horrors defeats a few months back never made it to the SPL reports on there. Ach well, nae bother!- 20 replies

Actually, if we fail to gain three points against the Tangerines, the fact that either Motherwell or them will take points of one another suits us very well. In the best case scenario, we get a win and they draw. For the next two matchdays, both Motherwell and them have difficult ties, we do not.

As Hearts go to the wall, we've been offered Templeton
der Berliner replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Honestly, them aside, I have no real dislike for any football team in Scotland (I don't count Aberdeen's sick-silly support and some of their Hooped-minded players). Would be a travesty if Hearts go out of business because of the manics and antic of a foreigner like Vlad the Mad. -

Yes, but why "offer" him for 500k? Poor journalism maybe ... -

Agree about Sutton. Regarding Celtic, they have a very bloated squad for these last few years and sure pay a heavy wage-bill with next to no return bar season tickets et al. They will most likely have to sell some of their "stars" in January to get going. -
We have been - on the whole - less than convincing at Ibrox for a few years now, TBH. As if dominating a game and be creative does not suit us as much as playing fast and counter-attacking football away from home, when we can pick teams off while they try to play footie. IMHO, too much lies on the shoulders of Davis here and once he's not out of the blocks from the start, our general play lacks considerable (not least under the circumstances above). McKay is someone who can change that and it is sad that it needs an injury to our best player to get another creative centre-midfield player into the side.

... or so sayest The Scottish Sun This would be strange. Us with all the negative reports of "unpaid bills" and frozen money still signing a player. Then again, he'd have to be a freebie ere we get him straight away. (On a sidenote, he seems to favour the Hooped Horrors, despite his dad placing a "Cooper" as his middle-name.)

The thing is: how many companies do that, have we done it before and how common is that (all over Scotland)? Unpleasant as it is, it seems that Whyte now has a rat-tail of contractual etc. stuff to deal with after the takeover and apparently takes his time to double-check and outgoing money. Doom-mongers will say that we have no money to pay these bills (given that we have a substantial amount frozen in the bank), but what do you expect of those or the press.

Naismith confirmed as out for 8-9 months
der Berliner replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
On a purely football & team viewpoint (!), we played Naismith all over the park last season, more often than not due to lack of personal. Now we have the emerged Wylde and McKay for the left hand side (and I for one rate McKay highly), plus Papac/Wallace, as we have seen. For the right hand side there is Ortiz and Bedoya, both of whom have IMHO been "suffering" from the good form of the rest. What we have to realize is that these 4 players are sure good enough to cover for Naismith in the SPL. What worries me is the lack of substitutes for either Lafferty or Jelavic. -

Major, major blow indeed. Strangely enough, I feared that somesuch might happen weeks ago, since he's that sort of give-it-all player, always in there in the thick of the action. Hopefully he gets over it sooner than what is said, but getting back to that fitness and form is another hurdle along the way ... -
Kiddyfiddlerstreet - Reaction To Naismith Being Out
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Did not expect any less from the Scum, they have to keep their standards. That said, should any of theirs suffer, you'd find enough idiots in the Rangers blue who would share similar sentiments. Obviously, KFS is a nexus of all things anti-Rangers. -
Dunno, but as far as I am aware, championship medals are presented to the players when the trophy is held aloft. Even if they were collected afterwards to print names and somesuch, this would have been done long ago ... I mean, we've October 30th when that was happenening and we won it in mid-May? These sure were spare medals, were they not?

Rangers run risk of three-year Euro exile if they lose tax case
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Yeah, but I am not sure whether the initial claim actually included that. As I said, whether it will be 36m or 49m, it will be equally difficult to handle.- 20 replies

Rangers run risk of three-year Euro exile if they lose tax case
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Methinks - as has been pointed out over at FF - that Whyte is the only "secured creditor", while HMRC and the rest are just creditors too. He gets first pick and HMRC and the rest will effectively get next to nothing. The only real way for HMRC to get any money of substance is to do a deal with Whyte. Now, I can't say that these people are all "in the know", but it appears that there is a certain consensus with regard to what HMRC can expect should we enter any form of administration. Hence my remark above. At the end of the day, all the media speculation is based on the notion that we actually lose the case in the first place. A case that is actually nearer to 36m (i.e. confirmed 24m + 12m penalty) than the much-quoted 49m. Not that this makes any great difference, unless there is a deal to be cut. Speaking of which, someone mentioned a deal to be offered to the tune of 8.5m this week, anyone else heard that? On a sidenote, another poster mentioned: Hm ...- 20 replies

Davis anger at Dons fans as Rangers star Naismith hit by injury woe
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
It is being all over the place, but still, the Sheepshaggers have a special relation with us and injuries. Unless I am mistaken, they still indulge in the sing-song about Durrant and Simpson, don't they? -

On a sidenote, this would only hold true if we go int pre-pack (or whatever it is called), right? If we simply go into administration to clear the debts, face the 10-point penalty and have the assets split between the creditors ... i.e. the only real creditor that is Craig Whyte ... nothing of the above will hold true. Unless I am mistaken.- 20 replies

What happen will happen and no matter what the press spouts or we muse, Whyte will (hopefully) do the most sensible thing that can be done for Rangers FC. For I still of the opinion that in contrast to the other people who were chairmen or directors in my days as a Bluenose (i.e. the better part of 30odd years) he is actually a Rangers supporter himself.

Could well be that this sneaky guy simply wants to register the names ahead of Rangers, so they may have to "buy him out". But as far as I am aware, we could challenge him for the rights to use the names with ease ...
-
I for one would not give him any line or thought anywhere.
-
And I would assume that he won't have any funny ideas about weekly wages ...
-
So anyone actually read anything more of said "story"? If we've already bid for him, the deal might be more advanced already ... the Swedish season will soon be over, AFAIK. Maybe a tip-off from Bedoya?

Craig Whyte vows to sack anyone at Rangers who talks to BBC
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Skint Rangers won 3IAR. While they faltered in Europe, they run away with the league again, after spending next to nothing on seven new players (according to some). Timothy as a team and their manager appear to be clueless these days, had it not been for the Sion Fiasco, they would be out of Europe too. (The cover this fact gets is minimal, BTW.) The big HMRC case comes up, so our "friends" at the BBC (you know that I do not speak about the impartial ones - few as there might be) take the opportunity to deflect from Celtic's woes and lay heavily into us ... by whipping up a programme to undermine our chairman in the public eye, just ahead of this schedule HMRC case hearing. And we do not simply speak of some nonsense local paper or TV station here, we speak about the BBC, read and screened all over the planet. As I said, their football (not Scottish, but their main footie) page on the day (Friday) had the Rangers & criminal background headline spread all over it. As you say, the programme was about Whyte, but it was IMHO misnamed for a reason. Why right now and not years ago? Maybe because Murray, our board members and the BBC folk were good friends, or at least on good terms?
