  1. How so? You know any inside stuff? Any clue what either of them actually wanted from the club ere being sacked, or rather being suspended? Okay, any clue how this could have been avoided? Bar paying the money when it was due years ago in the first place, that is. When Bain and McInytre might have actually come across the money long ago by doing their job properly? Granted. How so? Whyte has his own folk and uses it. I for one have not noted "constant" changes, btw. Expand please. Rubbish. HMRC wants more than what is due and we contest this. We have agreed to pay and AFAIK will do so, but not the penalty on top of that. And, BTW, do you or anyone else on here actually know whether these 2.8m have actually been paid by now? Paying over the odds for players not worth it and to clubs wanting to squeeze as much money out of our club? No failure. We even bid too much for Juhasz and HIS club decided to stay put. We bid enough for Verhoek ere HE decided to stay put. That's Whyte's failure? Not in my world. Based on hearsay and information by people who have been wronged by the club or are commited enemies of it? Yes, if you believe them, then that's a failure. Yes, people want to see all bad things that there might be in Whyte's take over, after being carefully nose-lead long before it happened by the media and those same people who now come after him with money claims and whatnot.
  2. As has been said, we know next to nothing about Whyte and these people. I do assume that this is the case with many football clubs all over Britain, not just us. I doubt that Whyte has any greater obligation to sate our curiosity about his background than we would have presenting our background to the public. It is a sinister tendency these last few years to assume the worst and expect even worse, rather than to wait and see. So far since his take-over, the only ones who have failed us were the players during the first few weeks of the season ... or rather, before the latter actually started.
  3. I for one do not know how high McClelland or Whyte are held in the "business community", whatever this may be. What we do know is that all those who have left by now have held their roles under the last owner and at the end of the day, did little to stop us from running ever deeper into trouble. They could all have resigned in protest et al long (as in years) ago, and in the cold light of day, they all earned their money from Rangers FC while we slipped ever deeper. So I for one do understand that Whyte does not exactly want those people - whose role at Rangers as such I would not question - about for much longer (and with all due respect, they do get on age-wise too), nor will he surround himself by yes-sayers either, I'd assume. For he needs new faces to get us into the next era of Rangers, whether those may be a Laudrup, Gough or you name it. Not necessarily as directors, BTW. It would be good if we learn more about those changes and I would hope people will ask the relevant questions at the AGM, or that Whyte tells us in advance. One of the worst enemies in these days is the lack of information. Still, people need to understand that this is no open democracy, where people have to learn all that there is to know about everything that goes on at the club.
  4. Notable: 1) the name the graffiti CIRA being "a reference to a republican terror group" 2) absence of linking it to the Celtic and its support Just imagine somesuch would have happened at one of their pubs ...
  5. So while we are debating it on here, should the above not been made aware to Whyte and his lawyers? Obviously, it is a touchy issue going at loggerheads with something like the BBC beyond their Scottish division, but if you see what is actually been done and who the sources are - with the HMRC case on the horizon - you can see the writing that's on the wall here. The word "witch hunt" looms in the shadows of a programme that could well be used to influence those judging on the HMRC case. And it will not matter if the programme is screened and Whyte wants an apology afterwards, since the overall damage will have been done.
  6. Even a Dolph Lundgren shooter has more intellectual spark than this ...
  7. I'm pretty sure the small one was, but someone mentioned that the big things is being done in England, for whatever reason (maybe a different case/basis).
  8. That HMRC thing is being heard and "court'ed" in England, is it not?
  9. Did they have a similar story when Portsmouth was what, 120m in debt and walking the tightrope of disaster?
  10. Did they do somesuch on SDM, or Lawwell, or any of the moguls that own the EPL teams?
  11. Just out of interest ... and since I am far far away ... what's the current state of the ICF?
  12. Hazzard a guess at tomorrow's headline then: Former Rangers bankers and the bank of Craig Whyte - chairman of Rangers - is being hit by downgrading! Relevance to Rangers FC? None. Does it matter to them? Nope.
  13. On a sidenote, "Fan Stewards" is a very common practice at football and icehockey games over here in Germany.
  14. The lad who first presented it gave the Bears a list of people to e-mail about the material being represented. Hundreds of e-mails have so far been sent, amongst them Lothian & Borders Police (Hearts game). They replied twice and today ... ... might just be a coincidence. 15. Possibly something private? Anyways, there's a thread over on FF which sheds next to no light on the chap whatsoever. If we invited him for a trial there sure is something in the lad, yet, as always, it is far more interesting what happens next with him.
  16. So in essence they - by pushing through with their demands - forced the company out of business receiving nothing now, and nothing in the future either. For I would assume that had the company stayed in business, they would have continued to pay to HMRC normally? Here's logic for you. They could have demanded suspended payment or at certain rates for some years etc., but ...
  17. It's not my site, but one of my fellow German Rangers "boarders". We "just" contributed.
  18. On a sidenote, the German "Boarders" have put together a site called Double Standards. It presents facts and figures, articles and links on all things so wrong in Scottish football, asking questions about prosecution of Rangers players and supporters alike, while our friends from across the Clyde can e.g. indulge in their IRAokes in Europe and at Tynecastle with not even a whisper mentioned about it. It has gone online today. We have collected the evidence, now the Bears have to use it. Double Standards
  19. Which raises the question about what we call the "house rule" over here. It has to be nailed down at every stadium, concert hall and the like, so people know in advance why they might be "targetted". Anyways, there seems to be some strange handling of "offenders" in place, with all these chaps having their season ticked being seized? For an "offence" such as standing? I mean, if those standing do some sort of harm or pose a threat to someone or whatnot ... but their aren't. The stewards, the police or those coming up with such ideas cannot expect to turn a football ground into a classical concert or something. This needs to be adressed, preferrably with Rangers officials being accomodated in the stands and watch the "administrative" behaviour Rangers FC pays for first hand.
  20. Since all sorts of things fly about, administration would by default (using Motherwell, Hearts (?) and Co. as an example) mean a 10 point deduction and no players signed, but "not much" more, right?
  21. Not saying that it wasn't wrong by the chap to keep his water bottle. If there's a rule in place to that extend, it should be obeyed (even though the police officer made a hash of it ... and he should know better than the steward). We do have restrictions with regards to bottles and tetra packs greater than 0.5l too, btw. But to remove a season card for a bottle of water is simply out of sync. Give me a knife, pepper spray or the like and a related behaviour, but a water bottle?
  22. Can I ask on what basis his season ticket/card has been removed/confiscated? Even if local fans over here get evicted from the Olympic Stadium for being drunk on one matchday, they usually can come back the next match day unless they caused some bodily harm or similar grievious offence. Having a bottle of water is no reason to remove a season card, nor is escaping the clutches of some apparent (!!!) heavy handed stewards. On a sidenote, if there are shareholders in and about, they should take up their right and report this to the man in the main seat, either now or during the next AGM. Such behaviour cannot be tolerated - the pendulum swings in both directions.
  23. Of course, you would like to know what Whyte and King had to talk about pre the Old Firm game, when King was supposedly* after Whyte with regards to the HMRC case and whatnot. *According to that screaming newspaper headline back then.
  24. In this current climate and day and age, I can envisage much more than just "relegation".
  25. Well, IMHO we are currently better when we can snatch the ball and counter-attack quickly than being creative and have to dictate the game ourselves. Which is not to say that we have not what it takes to dominate SPL teams ... we showed that in the second half against Timothy as well as at Dunfermline. Yet, when Davis is not at the races (like in the first half yesterday), our midfield creativity drops a few levels. That remains a concern, though one hopes that McKay can add some quality here soon enough.
