  1. CG will probably get hauled up on a disrepute charge again... How would you go about getting an independent enquiry into the SPL/SFA??? Lord Nimmo will be free after Nov. Alternatively, RFC could arrange an independant enquiry headed up by Donald Findlay!!!!
  2. to my limited understanding, I think that could be a key issue. It's one thing giving someone an informative letter, but its something completely different if they are required to sign it!!!! IF a letter was issued stating that the club operate a trust scheme through a 3rd party that the player was able to access, I don't see that as a contract. Its stating that a facility is available should they wish to use it.
  3. It has been reported that the main evidence against our use of EBT's is that Side letters were given to EBT members informing them of the trusts and how they worked. The big question is....does a "side letter" constitute a contract??? My understanding of a contract is an legally binding agreement, signed by both parties. My understanding of a side letter is a communication containing information which the employee should be aware of. Obviously, the devil is in the detail, but if the club were to issue a side letter to all new players detailing the various means of transport in order to get to both Ibrox & MP.....would this constitute a contract to use public transport or taxi's???
  4. I think his original comment is quite cleverly worded (whether intentional or not, I don't know) It is worded in such a way that it MAY imply one thing, but can easily be defended as another. If it was a spoken comment, his intention would be an awful lot clearer - a bit of sarcasm in his voice could point more to the racial side of things. Said with a more serious tone, and its pointing to a genuine question. To post a comment like he did then be surprised/shocked by the backlash is very short sighted & a very clear error of judgement. Would he have got away with making a comment like that on the national new?? Nae chance!!! The curse of social media strikes again.
  5. What gets me is why were they displaying the banner @ a friendly with Norwich in the 1st place???
  6. Has he not scored a couple of goals for the reserves??? I believe he is a left sided attacking mid/striker, so. Would be an ideal standin for Temps....
  7. I think the stripping of titles punishment comes from the registration not being correct (IF the EBT were not correctly mentioned). If a player is not registered correctly then they shouldn't be playing. We would then forfeit any matches that said players took part in, and therefore end up losing the title. The real question is why are they only pursuing it now??? They knew we were using them, they had the accounts and they had the registrations....yet still never questioned anything.
  8. As opposed to the other night....the only time we had men in front of the ball was when our players lost possesion @ the 1/2 way line & QoS bolted for our goal....
  9. no comments about being a Mickey Mouse club please.....
  10. Valid point....my theory goes straight oot the windae...
  11. CG's Comment: http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/2105-charles-green-statement
  12. I foresee a hefty fine being handed to CG....this will enable the SPL to pay Hearts the money they're owed, and therefore pay their players. However, the SPL will then fine Hearts for late payment of their players. SPL wins!!!
  13. did CG not specifically say that he was not calling the integrity of the individuals into question???
  14. He played against Annan reserves last week. He didn't play in last nights reserve match - possibly to keep him fresh for tonight!!! http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/academy-news/item/2167-annan-res-0-1-rangers-res
  15. clearance came it a while ago...not really mentioned though.
  16. Never said that..... The point you are making is that if we play good football, we will dominate the domestic game. Myself & others are simply pointing out that this isn't always the case. We all want to see good football on display & win trophies, but with the quality of players available, the general quality of football in this country and the general mentality of teams/fan means that combining the two is unlikely. You just need to compare the way the game is played across the border....players are generally given more time on the ball to pick passes etc. At times it seem that the pitch is twice the size of ours given the amount of space available to players. This allows the game to flow a lot better and allows players to play. Also, look at the mentality of the fans....McCoist draws a match & the fans are complaining and looking for his head. Imagine how it would be if he was regularly losing matches (but playing decent football)....he would be forced out in no time at all.
  17. The most recent example of playing good football & winning nothing is Arsenal!!! cracking team, with cracking players...yet a VERY empty trophy cabinet. Playing silky football means absolutely nothing if your not winning - whether that is a single game, cup competitions of the league. Priority No.1 in football is to win the match. Do that often enough & you win leagues & cups. Doing it with flair & finesse is nothing but a bonus. Fans love to see good entertaining football, but what would the reaction be like if we played great football, but didn't get out of Div3??? Secure the result 1st & foremost....worry about how you did it later!!!
  18. Just checked on RangersTV....the camera goes black, but the commentator mentions a "late clip on Templeton" followed by another later tackle on McLeod. Challenge by Jack Steel
  19. Celtic's EBT....Ok, so Juniho didn't take any payment while at the club - fair enough.....but in order for him to be able to take a payment later, Celtic must have been paying money into the EBT at some point. Were these payments made after he had left, or during his time at the club??? If they were made while he was at the club, and Celtic didn't notify the SPL/SFA of these payments, they surely there are in exactly the same boat as us. Also, its worth noting that we are not being investigated over the financial side of things. No-one, from my understanding is investigating the actual financial side of things. The SPL are investigating the ADMINISTRATIVE side of the EBT's - were they declared correctly & were there secondary contracts. The SPL are not investigating whether we could afford them. Therefore any claims about "financial doping" or cheating should be thrown straight oot the windae!!! It would be nice to see the SPL make comment on this & set the record straight.....
  20. Watched the game yesterday.... Firstly, I though Annan played well. They closed us down & didn't give players time on the ball. I thought that we played Ok, but we struggled in the final 1/3 of the pitch - the forward line just didn't threaten in any way. Compared to previous weeks, I thought that we actually passed the ball not too badly. It's always gonna be difficult when a team defends like Annan (and a number of other 3rd div sides) - they basically had everyone back into the box when we attacked. This makes it difficult to do ANYTHING around the box. Saying that Annan were also very quick to break & caught us on the counter attack a few times. One thing I would say, so far in the 3rd div I've found the matches far more entertaining than anything I've seen in the SPL for a long time. The games are pacey & exciting and there actually is a decent about of proper football being played.
  21. no...They must abide by the Rules of the Scottish Football Association first & foremost. My understanding is that the titles would have been awarded to the club registered through the SFA membership....not the business entity that owns the club - this membership was successfully transferred to the newco.
  22. In the eyes of the governing body...it is the same club - the SFA membership was TRANSFERRED, and not issued new.
  23. Similar to my findings. and another similarity to the RFC situation - plenty folk will claim as FACT that we issued side letters of contract for the EBT's, yet how many can actually provide hard proof???
  24. FYI.... Source: Daily Mail
