  1. It ultimately comes down to how much SG & MA value the player - if they see £750k (in the case of Lafferty) as good value for money then fine, they meet Hearts valuation & job done. However, if they see him worth no more than £500k and Hearts are unwilling to sell at that price, then we walk away & close the door on a monetary deal - Hearts potentially lose out by not getting a penny.
  2. Agreed....I think from our side of things, we will be happy to keep the ball in the midfield & breaking up any play they may have. Couple that with the odd break forward, just to remind them that we're a threat. We will ultimately play for a 0-0 draw. Maribor HAVE to try & score....if we nullify that option we then have full control of the match.
  3. Ceptics possession stats are normally quite high....they spend large parts of the game simply passing it between their back-4 & sitting midfielders, all well within their own half. The opposition are rarely anywhere near them, as there's no point chasing the ball about & wasting energy.
  4. But he still knows (experience as a player) how to manage difficult away games to your advantage - he has already show this experience against Osijek & Shkupi.
  5. Apparently, only being offered to specific existing shareholders.....therefore the percentage of those not included will be diluted.
  6. What that contribution is, depends on the players position. We are needing an alternative to cover Freddo, in case he's injured, suspended or needing a break. Therefore Lafferty's contribution ultimately has to be goals - I'm not convinced that Lafferty is the man to provide those goals when called upon - especially if he isn't playing week in, week out.
  7. Doesn't make it big, clever or right though....Who want's to be like everyone else - other fans should want to be like us!!! All I'm saying is, with a slight change of tact, these matchday marches could be a great thing for the club & supporters.
  8. based on his stats since then...he's still done a lot of ball tripping!!!! He is NOT a prolific goal scorer - his career record supports that. Therefore, if he's not a proven goal scorer, what is he going to bring to the team???
  9. True...but in this case he's previously had the ball at his feet, and tripped over it
  10. Remove the pyrotechnics & the face hiding (though didn't seem that much this time), and you have a the same impact with the fans participating & watching, but with out the potentially negative overtones. You also have something that could be turned into a positive thing!!!
  11. I don't know where other teams have played him, but his goal tally hasn't really improved at other clubs - I'd go as far as saying he is a less prolific goal scorer than Kenny Miller. Acutally, checking Wikipedia - KM as a 33% career scoring record, compared to KL's 25%.
  12. Career total of 407 games....98 goals scored. Morelos is only 25 career goals short of Lafferty, after only 137 games. Lafferty is certainly NOT the reliable striker that many folk seem to think - his 19 goals for Hearts last season was only the 3rd time he's hit double figures in a season (other twice being 2013-14 with Palermo(12) and 2010-11 with us(15).) and also his highest goal tally ever in a single season. Also, as we have seen in recent years, many Gers fans don't like players who "disappear" in games.....what's Lafferty's work rate like??? I've never got the impression that he was a grafter.....
  13. There is nothing that will every stop me being British....coz I live in the British Isles (ie. the land mass)....however I will first & foremost ALWAYS be Scottish.
  14. I've got nothing against them...they can call themselves whatever they like - makes no difference to me. Also, nothing against them organising marches - think it's a good thing in that it brings supporters together. However, I don't agree with the face covering/identity hiding or the pyrotechnics - is that what makes them "Ultras"??? Why feel the need to hide your face, when your not doing anything wrong??? On thing that did make me smile though "Our City, Our club"....but suggest we're actually Scottish & you get called all sorts!!!!
  15. Ceptic have a big squad, but as the weekend showed it doesn't mean they are all world beaters. What is important is have a good TEAM. As we've seen (all be it mainly in friendlies), we are developing a team that can be interchanged without impacting the style & quality of play too much. A possibly problem with Ceptic is that they have individuals playing more for themselves, than the greater good of the team.
  16. Why does it need to be "Ultras" who march??? Why not use something like that to Celebrate the club, it's fans & it's diversity???
  17. He has been injured recently, hence Flanagan(a RB) starting. He is still worth considerably more than £800k.
  18. John is/was a 1st team regular, with several years left on his contract. He's 23 & a Wales international....£800k is embarrassing!!!!
  19. Nothing wrong with a wee march to the stadium....but it should be a fun, family friendly thing. The last UB March was anything but that & showed the club in a very bad light.
  20. No it's not....he should be getting substantially more than that. Players in their last year of contract with notably less game time are going for 3x that fee.....
  21. Seemed that way at times last season, due to the number of goals lost
  22. I always took Weegie to be an abbreviation of Glaswegian - denoting a person from Glasgow.
  23. Was it not 3 for Jack last season, then this one???
  24. Is that at least 4 Red cards now either reduced or rescinded completely, over the course of a season & 1 game. A thorough analysis needs to be done of cards received/challenged by us compared to other premiership teams, along with other refereeing "mistakes". Then, present those findings to the SFA/SPFL - for closed door discussion. The details shouldn't be put out to the public (initially) - LEt the fans know it's happening, but keep the details quiet until decision is reached. These kind of decisions are costing the club points. It's all well & good to say, the "punishment" has been reduced, but we lost an important player, in an equally important match. Reducing the card afterwards doesn't alter the result & while there's no guarantee, we wouldn't have lost the goal....it is less likely if we had a full compliment of players on the pitch.
  25. There was nothing wrong with out attack or ability to score goals....it was the inability to stop the opposition scoring that caused us problems.
