  1. Watching the youtube reel.....not overly impressed & not convinced his style would suit the SPFL.... He appears to have a bit of pace, and favours an "over the top" pass which he can run onto & into some space. However, as we all know in the SPFL, teams like to sit deep, therefore there isn't generally a lot of room for players to run onto "over the top" passes or threaded through balls. He also appears to be rather ungainly, with not the cleanest 1st touch - relying on his pace to get it back under control & away from the opposing players. If we can't get other teams to advance beyond their 18yd box, then he looks like he would be completely ineffective. We need someone who can battle & scrap in & around the box, in tight spaces. Someone that can win headers & bring other players into the action - coz that's the reality of Scottish football (against us).
  2. Yup tried all that....displays the same across all browsers - Chrome, IE & Edge. not tried Firefox yet...[Update: Firefox is the same]
  3. Does the transfermarkt site display like this for anyone else??? Makes if VERY difficult to use....
  4. How about: Age: 22 Apps/Goals: 130/70 Price: £1m Not bad stats....and costs a helluva lot less than £60m!!! Fortunately we already have him (Morelos), but it goes to show that you don't need to spend £60m+ to get a player that matches the required stats.....it just takes careful & meticulous scouting. There are players out that with good stats & if we're looking to bring in strikers/forwards/target men, I for one, want them to be able to score goals - I don't want another Kenny Miller who will run his heart out for 90 mins, but not really contribute that much overall. We need defenders that can defend, midfielders who can dictate & distribute, and forwards that can score.
  5. based on Busters numbers....that's not very encouraging for a forward/attacking player - we get more goals than that from our right-back!!!! We should be bringing in someone (ideally) that is scoring in about 50% of games played on average. Someone that is at least getting into double figures for a season.
  6. If it's a scheduled scan, it's either nothing much to worry about, or we're getting REALLY good at predicting injuries. Given that there are only a few days left in Spain, it probably wouldn't be worthwhile flying him back out.
  7. I think the views highlight a general inconsistency. I sometimes got the feeling that he's try too hard to be amazing, whereas Candeias would just do what needed to be done ie. run at defence & put balls into the box. Windass woure more often try to cut in & manufacture something - which more often than not failed. For the record, I like Windass...I think he did bring a lot to the team, but needs to even out the peaks & troughs a wee bit.
  8. 3 at the back, with Alves running the show from the central position - let the "young guns" do more of the running out wide. That could work quite well. The adjust the wide men according to requirement - more attacking for some of the "smaller" teams, more defensive for bigger ones. On the flip side of that....Tav & Candeias had a very good understanding together last season - if that could be consistently replicated on the left, then it would REALLY open up attack options. The John/Windass pairing just wasn't as consistent or as effective as Tav/Candeias.
  9. short term (1 season), with option for 2 or 3yr extension, depending on performance.
  10. HE just wrote about Rangers, but changed the name to Shkupi
  11. My thinking...If you have a full compliment of players that can perform for the starting 11, then the decision to rotate players is much easier as you'r not dropping your No.1 option for an inferior replacement.
  12. I'm pretty sure that's what we all thought last year....Imagine IF they beat us again....
  13. Can you see that changing much if he is signed as a "squad player"??? I can't. We shouldn't be signing players as Squad players, to simply fill the ranks. We need every single one of our 1st team squad to be able to offer a positive contribution to the team when they are required. That is the only way to encourage healthy competition for places.
  14. I'll say one thing...the Gaffer looks as fit, if not fitter than some of the players - and he retired 18 moths ago!!!
  15. Definitely the best option for the player....couldn't see him being any more that a rare bit-part player next season. I think that unless he has an absolutely outstanding season @ Fleetwood, he won't be back in a Rangers jersey.
  16. I very much doubt it. It's training gear, why should it matter whether it is off the shelf or bespoke. I would suggest that VERY few clubs wear 100% bespoke training gear....whats the point??? Most punters want to buy the team strip, not the training top, therefore very little commercial return. Even the Team tops will all be very similar. You tend to find that manufacturers come up with a design for the season, and that basic design is applied to all teams. I would suggest that Ceptic's strip does not vary from other teams playing in hooped shirts....
  17. I'd say the 2 go hand in hand....If you are starting to feel tired physically, that will have a massive effect mentally. I've posted before about the Military physical training....they push soldiers beyond their physical breaking points in order to condition them mentally for the challenges that they may face in the future. While the mind is strong, the body will follow.
  18. Is he not at the World Cup with Portugal???
  19. From memory, it was always the penalties that were being contested (officially)....or was that on the wee case???
  20. Holt could be useful, but I doubt he would get utilised very often....better for all to move on.
  21. quickly followed by Wonder what part, the Yahoos will pick up on???
