The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals
Darthter replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Totally agree....How can SG effectively know what/who he needs to bring in, before he's had a chance to really see what he's dealing with already. I'd imagine he'll want to chat to the players as a group & individually and also run several training sessions to get a good idea of who's staying & who's going. -

Tims allocation cut for next season -official

I found if very amusing when they were talking about other clubs reducing our ticket allowance following the decision....from my understanding, at the moment, every other club except Ceptic ONLY get the corner area. Therefore, no other clubs allowance will be affected.... This was something not discussed AT ALL..... -

The fact that the club have said they have had 40k renewals, before opening up for public sale, would indicate that things are going well -

Clyde SSB going into meltdown, about how terrible a decision it is for Scottish football & how it will have massive effects through all clubs & grounds. What they miss is that it will only directly effect 2 league games per season. Since Rangers have no control over Ceptics ticketing policy - what they choose to do is up to them. Every other visiting teams supporters get the same ticket allowance & it's never been an issue....but now it's Armageddon pt2. Good on the club for putting its fans 1st.... -

I'm not a fan of the Orange connections/connotations....but it does make for a great looking strip regardless. -

Fake or not...it's still a good looking strip!!! -
Club should be pushing for immediate dismissal & review of matters, involving us, that he has been involved in. He is supposed to be in an impartial position...

ZINEDINE ZIDANE has backed Steven Gerrard to be a success at Rangers
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
All managers (& players) are a risk.....said that all along. However, we do have a (recent) track record of poor manager appointments - with the benefit of hindsight of course. Some were dubious candidates from the off though. SG has zero managerial experience at a senior level, and only very limited experience at under-20 level. When you put those 2 facts together, the appointment of SG is even more of a risk - many believe to be an "outright foolish appointment". Therefore SBS's comments are 100% accurate, as are your comments about appointments being a gamble. However, as has been discussed previously, SG brings with him a wealth of playing knowledge, and a massive media presence & respect across the globe. SBS's point was that the Scottish media are seemingly not wanting to acknowledge the latter, but are focusing on the former, more negative angle. The probably don't like folk like Zidane passing comment, coz they are high profile & offering praise & support for our new manager. -
I know...but why??
-
Why would it get questioned/raised @ Holyrood??? Hopefully, the SFA will boot his backside right oot the place.

...but not a single word of SBS's comment is untrue....it is simply the way the media are viewing it. -
Former Celtic Boys Club chief appears in court charged...

I would reckon that Ceptic lawyers would be stating the case that while he was employed by them, he was also employed by other clubs during the time in question therefore it is wrong to single out one particular club. We just need to get our legal people to act in a similar manner. -
I don't think that will happen....he's too comfortable where he is...he's winning trophies & the fans love him. I think he'll be staying put unless it all goes pear-shaped. The same goes for Broonaldo....everyone is constantly told what an amazing player, yet when was the last time ANY interest was shown in him, from ANY team???

Remember, we still require squad players of a decent enough standard to step in IF required. Out of the list there, I think it's safe to say MOH, Dodoo, Wallace, & Probably Wes will be offski. If Hodson can't get a game when 2 left backs are out, then I'd expect him to be looking else where. I don't see Cardoso or Holt being moved on (just yet). I think Halliday, Herrera & Pena, may hang about until SG determines if they have a future at the club....that may be the same for Dodoo. -

He has no connection with Rangers now and hasn't had for several years - who cares about anything Whittaker says or does??? Maybe he should withdraw from playing against us in the future, coz he once played for us.... All this guff about Whittaker.....yet no issues with Mo Johnson or latterly a certain Mr Miller, who not only played for them, but I believe scored against us.... -

Jamie Murphy joins permanently on three year deal
Darthter replied to Darthter's topic in Rangers Chat
Better players around, may encourage extra training sessions, which then leads to better output on the pitch. Also, a higher level of player may be more able to adjust their positioning better for an incoming cross, than others. Therefore resulting in better completion stats etc. -
You certainly pick up on Ceptics ever increasing arrogance this season. I think that has also shown in their results & general play - no where near the level it was last season. I think they will see a much more galvanised & solid Gers team next season, which can hopefully throw the cat right in amongst Brenda pigeons!!!!

We should be doing that with more of our loanees....let them help other Premiership teams against everyone else, but don't allow them to play against us - Ceptic have been doing it for years. (and if possible, include a clause stipulating a certain amount of 1st team action...). -
Did Walter Smith underachieve at Ibrox first time around?
Darthter replied to 917's topic in Rangers Chat
I think it's difficult to say that WS under achieved...his team(s) still brought in a fair number of trophies. Campare that to the likes or Arsene Wenger - there is a much better case for saying he under achieved...only won the league 3 times in 22 years. True, they were up against some of the worlds best opponents, but they are were able to compete in the transfer market with all of them. As others have said, back in WS's days, there was considerably less money flying around, so you'd get more "bang for yer buck" with players. The thought if a £4m player in Scotland was blowing folks minds....players or £1-2m were common place & the quality was far better compared to recently. Ultimately, WS did what he did...under/over achieved, it really makes no difference - he still put out a team that was more often than not, better than everyone else. -
Wonder how Nir Bitton feels about those types of banners - I believe he's from Israel. As for the open top bus....let the have their fun, but remember it's allowance set a new precedence.
-
I think Alnwick is a very capable keeper....but out of the 3, I'd rather have McGregor. Possibly Jak in place of Wes, but there isn't really much difference tbh. Since signing Wes has been a decent keeper - a combination of outstanding at times, mixed with complete howlers.

Couldn't care less what Mo'H does in his spare time...none of my business. However, I'd say in this case it is certainly a serious error of judgement. I'm sure he'll get his knuckles rapped by the club for being an eejit, but I would suggest it ain't exactly a disciplinary action. -
Always provide just less than the customers require.....that ends up creating demand. I would much rather see a sold out, smaller stadium than a larger one with big gaps in the crowd....or even have to close off large sections of the stadium due to lack of demand.
