  1. really can't see Skirtel being high on the wanted list now that Goldson & Katic have been brought in....especially since we already have Alves, Cardoso plus any potential youngsters.
  2. Holt is worth keeping, but at the same time it's only fair to let him know if he's gonna get any decent game time. If not, he may feel its time to move on.
  3. Best sponsor for the Stadium surely has to Apple....iPad, iPhone, iBrox
  4. Hopefully a good move for Dodoo...IF he gets game time. Either comes back to us a more 1st-team ready player, or boosts his profile down south to be sold.
  5. RANGERS Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old Croatian defender Nikola Katić from Slaven Belupo on a four-year deal. The 6ft 4in former Under-21 internationalist is highly rated in his homeland and was capped for the first time by Croatia’s senior side in a friendly against Mexico in May 2017. A towering centre-half born in Ljubuški, Katić started his football career at HNK Stolac in Bosnia and Herzegovina before moving to Neretvanac in Opuzen, Croatia, in 2014. In February 2016 he joined Slaven Belupo in the northern city of Koprivnica, a club that finished seventh in the Croatian First Football League in 2017/18. Katić made 34 appearances last season and for several games took on the responsibility of being captain in the absence of the experienced Vedrun Purić. After signing his four-year contract at Ibrox today Nikola becomes the fourth Croatian to play for Rangers, following in the footsteps of Dado Pršo, Nikica Jelavić and Niko Kranjčar. https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/rangers-sign-nikola-katic/

  7. Ant Middleton is himself ex-SAS & likes a bit of adventure. Did a challenge following Captain Blight & the Mutiny on the Bounty a couple of years back - good watch.
  8. If Miller gets the Livi Managers job, he can then behave in the dressing room however he likes
  9. Is it just std grass or is it more of a hybrid-type pitch???
  10. Hit the nail on the head.... Really is a sad/terrible state of affairs. Ryan Jack is the perfect example....1 red card @ Aberdeen compared to 4 at Rangers!!!
  11. From the details that are available, this is my understanding: - Wallace & Miller breached club/company disciplinary rules which was formally reported. - Both players suspended on full pay, pending investigation - A thorough investigation was carried & found that the players did indeed breach club rules to varying degrees - Disciplinary action was taken in accordance with club regulation, which resulted in a fine for both players - Both players disagree & are appealing the matter Based solely on the evidence available, there is nothing to indicate that the club have done wrong. IF the players are appealing the decision then the investigation will come under scrutiny. This may highlight fault within the investigation & result is either the fine being overturned, or lessened. OR it may find that the the investigation was full, thorough & without prejudice & therefore the punishment stands. With regard getting rid of Miller, his contract has expired....all they had to do was simply not renew it & from what we know, there was no intention to renew. With Wallace, it different...he still have a year left on his contract. If there was no future for him....why go through a length & time consuming disciplinary process just to get him out the door??? His decision to appeal the outcome has now essentially put him on a collision course with the club, which he will not win. Yes, he may win the appeal but he will not kick another ball until his contract has expired & he may well find his playing career effectively over. I really can't believe that folk are unhappy with the club over this matter, or questioning the clubs motives - 2 players over stepped the mark, regardless of who they are, they should be dealt with.
  12. Exactly...we already have plenty "shirt fillers"...no need to bring more in. Any new players should be of a Starting 11 level and an improvement on the current squad players.
  13. Exactly...by putting it out to the media, it gives less opportunity for SFA/SPFL to gloss over or ignore it.
  14. We shouldn't be buying players "to have on the bench"....I would like every player that we have to be of "starting 11" quality. It's then down to the individual players to battle it out for a starting sport. There has to be a confidence throughout the squad that any player can step into the starting 11 & perform for a full 90mins.
  15. Carlos Pena, arrives for Pre-Season training
  16. It's about finding the right balance....you plan for the long term with signings like Morelos & Rossiter, and bringing through players like McCrory, Barjonas & Beerman. The shorter term is taken care of by signings like Alves, Dorrans & Krancjar. The middle term is taken care of by players like Bates or other such players that can come in & improve, but will likely not last very long before being moved on.
  17. You can't simply ignore the facts right now, based on what has gone on over 30 years. Fact is, the natural order (in recent years) has changed. We have no right to be the best or 2nd best - those are accolades that are earned by league performance & our league position has as as 3rd best. Of course we will improve, and that improvement was expected last season....but didn't materialise for various reasons. Will we reclaim top spot, 2nd spot, 3rd spot next season - we will find out next may.
  18. Based on the last 2 seasons final standings....that "natural place" is above us!!!! While the main thrust of the focus is challenging Ceptic, we simply can't just brush the other teams aside. We SHOULD be beating them comfortably, but we haven't done it consistently enough.
  19. If Pena wants out, then he can leave with sod all.....he is contracted to Rangers for another 2 years, why should we payout cash to someone who doesn't want to play for the club. Make it clear to him....if he sorts himself out & works hard on his performance then there is a place for him in Glasgow. If that's not what he wants then the club will rip up his contract with immediate effect with no payout.
  20. Yet there was hardly a queue round the block to replace Pedro or Murty..... Officially/technically, Murty wasn't sacked - he has always remained a club employee. He was removed of his temporary duties as 1st team manager. The agreement was only until the end of the season. He has simply resumed his previous position.
  21. IF....(and it's a big if), he can get himself sorted & get his head back in the game, he could be a very good player for us. However, that all depends on him (& the folk round about him). Any moves to terminate contracts etc, should come from the player IMHO....it puts the club in a stronger bargaining position if the player wants to finish it. From a Rangers point of view, they should present a helpful & supportive front to the player (& agent) - make it clear that they will support whatever treatment he requires (absolute minimum financial support though). If the player doesn't want to return to Glasgow, he can resign/quit & therefore negate any compensation payoff.
  22. You would like to think that with the current questions being asked of the SFA/SPFL, that Hughes' replacement will be scrutinised to the nth degree & be totally beyond reproach....what are the chances???
  23. There is absolutely no reason why we can't win the league - Last season finished with a 12 point difference (9 of a difference to Aberdeen)...that's not a massive difference to overcome. Essentially that equates to the 4 OF games ONLY!!! If SG can bring in more consistency & shore up the defense, as a result we should be dropping less points. We scored a lot of goals last season, but we HAD to due to the number we were letting in. Ceptic's consistency level last season dropped considerably....I don't believe that the gap (on the pitch) is as big as folk make out. Ceptic could go out & spend £M's on new players, but I doubt they will. They will most likely make only subtle changes & additions. Our focus next season must be on the rest of the league - the OF games will look after themselves. We need to completely dominate teams from the 1st whistle to the last. If we do that, you never know what might happen....
