Heard this. Really put me right off. Mind you, I didn't need much putting off. Absolutely disgusting - and I'm not precious. Who can defend there not being an agenda? Did anyone hear the commentator mentioning so many" ex-Celtic players" on the field. I didn't hear a reference to an "ex-Rangers player".

Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread

Beg to differ Craig. Said it a hundred times. It's the "team" and the tactics. Footballing history is littered with "lesser" names getting one over on the big boys. Where it evens itself out is the depth of quality in the squad over the course of a season. There is absolutely no reason why our present squad couldn't knock Celtic, Dundee Utd or Hertz etc out of a Cup this season. There is also absolutely no reason why Peterhead couldn't beat us on their own - or our patch. It's about a team, the spirit and the tactics. Put Man U or Barca against Rangers a couple of seasons' ago. Prediction - a humping. Yet we get tactical draws. -
There's a brave man. How much do you know about SFL3 Zappa? Fair enough .... count me in too Frankie! Can I take Annan - I had to Googlemap it to find out where it is - and I thought i knew Dumfries pretty well ........

Apart from Berwick, yes. We had some of the best players to grace a Rangers jersey. All playing for peanuts.

This is not journalism. It's opinion and ill-founded opinion at that. She fails to differentiate between the football club and the companies who have owned it. She hasn't researched the matter of football debts at all, instead relying on innuendo from other sports "journalists." The fact thar Rangers have sold more season tickets than half of the SP combined is also swept under the carpet. The other thing that is swept under the carpet is that the parties who have been most shafted - both financially and emotionally, are the Rangers fans. Bit heigh-ho Moira. Let's not let truth get in the way of your misguided opinion.

Does anyone know exactly how much the deal is worth per annum (after the SFL cut) Also how RFC are getting per annum?

I think we should wait and see. It's early doors yet. Tuesday, I thought we were really goog at times. That was against higher ranked opposition that Peterhead. Yesterday was our (and Ally's) first away match in Div 3. Also against one of the contenders for the play offs. We were fortunate to get a draw. But let's see how things go. No alarm bells yet for this Bear. -
That's your opinion, and you're perfectly entitled to it. Others may have a differing viewpoint to which they're equally entitled. However, as in all forum discussions, at the end of the day, the Club decide these matters, and we have small input.

Charles Green claims Mike Ashley will earn Rangers £10m a year
bluebear54 replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
There are two major sources of income from shirts. One is the shirt deal itself, which could quite conceivably bring in £10m over a certain period of years. The other is from the individual sales. That could be all wrapped up in one to - say - Sports Direct for a similar amount over a certain amount of years, or individual profit. -
What happened to the definitive answer on which SFL club voted against us. That's more important. We can hardly refuse away tickets for gunslinger.

Not so sure GS. Remember reading somewhere that the markup on replica shirts is astronomical. -

I understand your sentiments totally. But why is it a pity? Two wrongs never make a right. If we want to win, we must rise above and be decent. -
The coming years? What about the past years? Weekdays are great for me because I can make it, but for the majority of Bears, it's a bummer. We'll also end up with some bizarre days and times for some matches because of SKY/ESPN. For which the Club are apparently getting peanuts. Apparently it's par for the course for Div 3 teams showing 15 games per season.

Good and honest statement. Unfortunately, Longmuir had better be careful. With sentiments like that, he'll be shot down in flames by the media before too long. In this present climate it's just not au fait to say anything positive about Rangers. Just wait until Joe, Phil and the gang get him in their sights.

It was family. My grandad was Rangers daft. My wee Rangers socks were never off my feet ( remember the Royal Blue ones with red and white stripes and "Rangers" up the side anyone?) They had holes in them eventually, and I still wore them. My Mum had to buy me a pair of shoes so that people didn't see the holes in my socks. Billy Henderson, Davy Wilson, Ralph Brand, Eric Caldow, Bobby Shearer and all the greats from that era were my heroes. Later Jim Forrest and Jim Baxter as well. The rest, as they say, is history. A history, may I add, that will never be erased.

On the way back from work tonight, I tuned in to the Moscow game when it was already 3-0. Cue Jim Spence coming out with an absolute belter of Biblical proportion. "If Scottish football wants to become a top nation again, we really need to encourage some money into the game." It crossed my mind that, given that profound statement, why anyone in their right mind would want Rangers dead and buried, thus depriving Scottish football of half of its revenue. So, Jim, do you think your ongoing agenda against Rangers has helped that little initiative of yours, or what? You were strangely silent regarding solutions after your deep surgical insight. Perhaps you have some cracking ideas about how to take the Scottish game forward? Perhaps you even have some cracking ideas about how to take the Scottish game forward without Rangers? Perhaps you have even have some ill thought out, tawdry excuses as regards your anti-Rangers agenda. Perhaps, as I fear, you just enjoy bumping your gums. Empty vessels and all that, my son. One thing that is certain is that Rangers fans are, have been, and will remain to be, one of the major driving economic forces in Scottish football. So, Jim, away home and think about that one. Dream up a scenario where Celtic, Dundee United and Scottish football can be masters of the universe without the fan base that is Rangers, then let's see the back of that fag packet and we'll give it consideration. Because Jim, do you really know what? I think you're a small-minded bigot who loves jumping on the bandwagon along with the rest of the boys, and I also think you lack the foresight to understand the consequences of your ill thought out preachings. And while I'm at it Jim, you might want to know that I honestly consider you to be an intellectual bantamweight devoid of any valid thought for the future of Scottish football. Mind you, given present form, that shouldn't hold a lucrative Scottish journalistic career back. Now Jim, I'm getting on in years, but I suspect that I'll live to see the back of most of you and your ilk. And I sincerely hope that there is a more enlightened and professionally sound base of young journalists ready, willing and able to take your place. Then, finally, Scottish football might get somewhere close to the utopia that you were havering about.

Is the tide starting to turn for Charles Green?
bluebear54 replied to Anchorman's topic in Rangers Chat
Longmuir only looks great by comparison. He's just - by far - the best of a bad bunch. Scottish football needs a complete overhaul and some accountable professionals governing and running it. And no club chairmen. Not one. -
I thought last night was superb. Great performance by the team, great result, and awesome support. Take your hats off everyone. There was a fabulous sense of "Up you - we are still Rangers - always have been, always will be." Got the usual polite "how was it?" from the guys at work today, and it struck me that they were really miffed that we're not actually down in the dregs of Scottish football, and that we're not scraping an existence. I elaborated about the great football we played, and how 40,000 fans turned up on a Tuesday night, and the jealousy was only slightly concealed. Last night was great. The lesson learned? Let's pull together, let's encourage each other, and let's pack Ibrox out for every game. Then we win. They can never take the support away from us.
-
Nothing wrong with the Club Deck By a few feet, we're literally the closest to God at Ibrox (after Brian left.) We also have a rigid policy regarding equality and diversity. The chap that sits in front of me lets out the the most diverse smelling farts in the Universe. But he doesn't sing. That bit of information is just to reassure you that some of us still hum along. Was in GR4 last night, and it was liberating. I was singing and didn't feel like an eejit. Even, the Club 72ers were clapping along and taking photos of us. They looked like ordinary geezers, and I never saw one Camel Toe overcoat.

Home to Hibs and we absolutly pump Petrie's side. Please let it be.

On the bus now. That was excellent. Great flowing stuff, good goals and brilliant fans. We've also got a new anthem. Don't worry 'bout a thing!

Does it show the GCC land deal, or doesn't it go down to pence?

Well done to him for coming out of the closet and finally making a wee bitty effort to defend us. The title gave me a shock - "SDM denies cheating", which sounded a wee bit like Hitler blaming Poland for starting the Second World War. However, fair enough, he was only talking about the side letter/double contract allegations. I wonder if he's now said his piece or whether he will go the full Monty and defend us to the hilt in the coming investigation. After all - he was the Custodian. He called the shots. And he knew what shots he callled.
