  1. I'd agree to be honest, it gauls me that all these Ex Directors come out saying stuff after fact especially last year. They are all guilty of it: Paul Murray Alistair Johnson Martin Bain Dave King Everyone of them has said something along the lines of I knew this would happen but essentially did hee haw about it when they could.
  2. I remember 3 things from Hateleys time at Rangers The double against Aberdeen especially that header His volley against Leeds at Elland Road And his moment with Stewart Kerr. But what a player he was the rest of the time.......
  3. Anytime i've seen Bell play he's always played well enough. I think he's a good signing.
  4. I wouldn't blame HMRC either. I would say a number of people knew what was going on or had suspicions at the time and I think more could've been done. But like other posts have already said most of it what happened was preplanned by Whyte.
  5. I'm sure I read on here a few months back that the SFA knew as far back as October. Which also around the time Greig and McLelland walked. Ken Olverman apparently also flagged his concerns to his regulatory body who told him to leave it to CW to handle......
  6. He's a good enough goalie and to be truthful at one point I would've had him as first choice ahead of McGregor but if he's really on 13k a week then he has to go unless he'll take at least a 50% cut in wages. As we can't afford anymore than that.....
  7. Agree to a degree. But on our first season back in the top league I don't expect us to win the league. I expect us to compete and to qualify for Europe at which point we can build upon that success. But just now we should not be spending big bucks signing players nor should we be spending money on inflated wages. (If they don't want to sign for us at the going rate then I wouldn't want them). We should continue blooding our young players mixed with a bit of experience.
  8. Sounds like Legatt is critiscizing Malcolm Murray for doing his job. As for budget cutting, we should be managing our finances better. We don't need to have the second highest wage bill in Scotland to win DIV 3, DIV 2 , DIV1 and we certainly don't need a £10m warchest to do it either.
  9. Agree we have to get back to playing good football. Although we have had success. We haven't played good football for a long time. We have a chance to instill that now in our youngsters and by doing that we can get the fans truly excited about going to games again....
  10. Everyone was a victim of circumstance in this. The whole situation was very poorly handled by all sides in my opinion
  11. All 3 have nothing to offer so sorry it's a no from me. I remember in the 90's my Dad telling me when Rangers resigned Trevor Steven that it never works second time round and he was right and in most cases it doesn't work out, bar the odd exception.
  12. I really hope half these players the media are linking us with don't get anywhere near Ibrox. McCoist should be getting reports on every young player about to be released by the major clubs. Not nobodies who will offer nothing to the club
  13. Green left Rangers in a better position than when he found us. Could others have done better? Yes for def but by the same token others could've done a helluva lot worse. I do think he was out to line his pockets because in my opinion this whole situation with him, Ahmad and Whyte seems orchestrated almost preplanned. Anyway back to McCoist - I don't care that we weren't winning every game 6-0. I am not even that bothered that we've struggled and even lost to lessers sides than ours. But I do care that we are absolutely woeful to watch. When I have seen us play at home and away this season we have been terrible. Our fitness levels, playing mentality and overall team spirit needs to be sorted as soon as possible. If McCoist can't do this then he should step aside.......
  14. I think SDM just wanted rid of us and he would have sold it to anyone who looked likely to take us, that and LBG saw a great chance to get their money back. I don't think anyone was duped. I think they chose to ignore the signs.......
  15. Agreed. We are becoming a complete laughing stock as this drags on.
  16. For def. The more that comes out about this it sounds more and more and like an episode of Cowboy Builders. Every time Charles Green speaks just now he digs a deeper hole for himself, he would be better keeping quiet and letting lawyers or Jim Traynor deal with it. He is fast making his position untenable if it isn't already
  17. He has made a number of misleading statements to the press. Perhaps the time has come for him to stop giving interviews we have a communications officer for that. Charles Green clearly speaks without thinking.........
  18. I think Green knows that turmoil or not we should've been much better than what we have been or at least showing the signs that we were getting better.
  19. What has Di Canio done to deserve a job in top league in English Football? Sunderland may well get relgated on the back of this decision.......
  20. Our scouting system hasn't been the best for a while. We struggle to get value for money or to get any great deals. Not sure how long Murray has been there but our signings over the last few years have been pretty shit. He should probably be asked to move on just on that basis....
  21. Don't feel sorry for him at all. He was in breach of contract by discussing anything like he did. Rangers pay him a lot of money to do his job! I would however ask how "Tommy" seems to be able to keep getting a hold of these numbers for people associated with Rangers.......
  22. I agree Ajax are an exceptional example and I'm not sure what lead them to play so many young players. But ultimately we are in the same position and if our young players get proper development, game time and the right mix of seasoned pros around them. Then we could dominate Scottish Football for years to come and make a consistent impact in Europe.
  23. The Ajax team that beat Milan in 95 the average age of the team that started was 25. They had 2 old heads in the team in Blind and Rijkaard and that was it. After Rijkaard and Blind the age gap for the next youngest was 8 years. I'm not saying Rangers could have as good a team as Ajax (but why not?) But what I will say is that they should have the same philosophy and the same set up. With 2 maybe 3 old heads but have a significant gap between them and the next youngest. Something like this…. 1. Alexander 2. New Right back 3. Wallace 4. Bocanegra 5. new centre back 6. McLeod 7. Templeton 8. new centre mid 9. Hemmings 10. Little 11. McKay I would like to see Danny Wilson come back if he would. As for the central mid or right back i'm not sure. I would keep McCulloch but use him as a sub to help us see out games. In the background you can still have Aird , Crawford and Naismith etc. I would sell Perry, Black, Sandaza and Shiels if anybody would take them. Doing it this way would allow the team to grow slowly but surely and I think we would end up with a helluva team
  24. How many of the Green Brigade were involved in this "protest" original reports stated around 80 now we are up to 300!!!
  25. A bit off topic. I think Ally sets his team up similar to the way Rangers played when he was there with Mark Hateley up front. I also think he's tried to replicate that with McCulloch and Shiels eg. ball into McCulloch lays off for Shiels etc... The only problem with that is that football has moved on so much since then it doesn't work anymore.
