I can't understand why he took Morelos off when he did. And Bearger I would never have started Lundstrum and Kamara in the starting 11 nor played Tillman so deep. Left a total disconnect between the forwards and midfield and we missed Tillman's incisive runs. We were far too defensive and were never in control in the first half.

Why are you making that assumption? I am assuming the manager went with experience.

The manager is responsible for that. Totally wrong team selection and the subs should have been on at half time. Can only hope he learns from it.

I went for Tav purely on his goals. Let's hope it is a return to scoring form for him. Raskin had a fine game and is the player we have needed for some time.

We a fit Roofe or need someone like him, an instinctive and clinical goal scorer. A couple of seasons ago Tav was scoring for fun. We could be doing with more set piece goals especially from defenders. We are short of goals from all areas of the park.

That's the team I picked his morning with Jack (if fit) in place of Kamara. I wouldn't risk Hagi on that surface but definitely expect to see Cantwell later in the game.

How god is Malik Tillman? He was a joy to watch in that second half. Can Bayern Munich take him back before we buy him?

Very one-sided report on the BBC website today where Tillman, the highest rated player got 5.7 down to Morelos' 3.99. PT highest 7.26 down to 6.36. You've got to laugh except then you realise some bigoted twat is stealing a wage that we are paying for.

I think Beale called this one right for Tillman's sake. He would have been hounded for ever more otherwise. Would I be saying the same if we'd lost the game? In all honesty no.

That was quite the match! First half is best forgotten. We were completely disjointed and no-one in midfield and upfront seemed to know what they were doing. It was good to see Hagi finding so much space in and around their box but it was correct to replace him at half time. The manager has held his hand up and admitted he made too many changes today. Our ball players had absolutely no protection from a dreadful referee. Cantwell, Tillman and later Kent were kicked off the park and were barely awarded a single foul. The half time changes made all the difference and we dominated most of the second half. We were just glad to escape with a victory. Edit. Forgot to mention how bad Kamara and Tav were. We can't continue with 2 passengers in our team.

Cantwell just ahead of Malik. Agree with the others that Borna and Davies also had good games. I agree with Bill on Davies. He is improving all the time.

Great post. Sums up how I feel. I love Alfie and want to keep him but last weekend I was saying I was giving up on him. He elicits a split personality in me. I don't think he will make it at a top club and it would be a mistake for him to leave.

I thought when the manager took Sakala off he could have brought on Colak. Kamara was hardly in the game and one less defensive player might have made the difference. We aren't good enough to see out a game.

We played some excellent stuff, particularly in the first half, but struggled to create many clear cut chances with RC sitting deep. I worried about their height at set pieces and with McLaughlin flapping in the goal and no-one able to clear the ball we were lucky to only concede one. It looks like we have got 2 really good players in Cantwell and Raskin. Cantwell and Tillman were our best players. As for the ref, dreadful performance.

As Kamara's second biggest critic 😉 I take my hat off to him for an outstanding performance last night. I hope for him and us it is the start of something special under Michael Beale.

What about the pass from Cantwell out to the player on the right wing (can't remember who it was, dreadful stream)? Absolutely sublime. He took a few hefty challenges when they could get near him. Big Tam Forsyth would have paid Snodgrass back.

Great result and performance. Some excellent individual performances. How good is it to see Kamara play like that again?

From what I can tell Lawrence is still a way away. Kamara looks like he is regaining form. Let's hope Lundstram recovers and gets back to his best. Beale said a few weeks ago that he wants to give Sands a run at DM as it would be unfair to judge him when he has not been playing in his best position. I reckon 2 out of 3 from Davis, Arfield and Jack will go so right now there are uncertainties about defensive midfield. We definitely need at least 2 keepers, a centre half and a quality striker added to the potential cost of buying Sands and Tillman. We cannot possibly do all of that in one go on our budget. My main concern, apart from the financials, is the lack of height in the team in midfield and forward line coupled with our inability to deal with high balls in the penalty box. Whittaker would have been a good buy on a number of levels. We definitely need to utilise Tillman's ability in that regard much more in both boxes.
