There are obvious concerns about today’s performance but I do think Killie’s new plastic pitch needs to be taken into account. If anything this one looks worse than the previous one. Seems to slow the game down.

Tav looks nowhere near as effective going forward without Candeias.

What’s important today is that the CB’s don’t dwell on the ball on this pitch. Just get it into their half & keep it there. No chance of playing nice,neat football on this plastic pitch

I strongly believe we’re better defensively when Katic plays. Genuinely wonder about Helmand. The fee seemed inexplicably low for a current Swedish international CB

I didn’t think our performance tonight was that bad but we really must start converting much more of the chances created. We had 3 or 4 easy chances in the last 20 minutes but couldn’t take any of them. We won’t get away with that sort of extravagance against better sides

Why shouldn’t we expect to qualify for the EL group stages? We managed it last season. And we’re a team which has improved since then

So do £35m CB’s not have a mistake in them ? On the face of it this looks a very good signing indeed. A current Swedish internationalist CB for £3.5m from SerieA. The yahoos have signed a CB from a lower french ligue1 side for£7m (or so we’re told) I’d suggest on paper anyway we’ve got a better deal

Me too. It should only be used for something the referee had missed such as an offside or a handball. It seems to be getting used where the referee has clearly seen an incident but not given a decision. To me that is clearly open to abuse.

I don’t like the idea of playing without a recognised striker. Remains to be seen what Stewart can do. Not convinced he’s good enough for us.
