  1. not so sure I'd agree. Other than Lewis McLeod how many of the current young players are as good as you say do you think ? and why did Ally go for experienced players during the summer e.g Daly ?
  2. don't forget Stokes' dive for Celt*c against Dundee Hibs earlier this season from which he got a freekick & scored the winner. Ii was one of the most blatant dives of all time but as expected Vincent Lunny overlooked it. I agree Peralta may need to watch as we're not in a level playing field here nowadays
  3. regardless of how the AGM goes and who is in control after it there's no doubt they will require someone like King to invest heavily & assume a controlling interest.
  4. I suppose you're right Andy but MP really does need to start paying for itself big time by producing young players capable of challenging for a first team place long before they're 21. Like Ajax for example. If it doesn't then it should be 'streamlined' as an earlier comment suggested. It must cost an absolute fortune in running costs at a time when we will undoubtedly be looking for areas to cut in the not too distant future.
  5. unless we can sell them onto the likes of the EPL then the amounts won't be worthwhile. No point in producing players for St Mirren, Partick Thistle etc. Simply not worth it.
  6. One thing Dave King's possible arrival may do is entice other 'Rangers-minded' investors to come forward who may have had reservations about becoming involved until now. To me it's a win-win situation if King gets involved again
  7. one of the major reasons we're losing so much money IMO is MP & its running costs. Here's yet another example with this pitch. Don't forget too all the youth teams, youth coaches the expenses, the trips all over the place and you can see it's burning a massive hole in Rangers pockets. Unless MP produces players who can be sold on perhaps if not every year but every other year then it is not viable as such is it? what it musn't become is a centre producing the likes of jordan mcmillan who joined Rangers at a young age, spent many years going thro' the youth system left Rangers for free and is now plying his trade as a journeyman with Plastic Whistle. Many others like him who cost us a fortune with no return whatsoever
  8. my ideal scenario would be to have both King & Mike Ashley involved(if he gets shot off Newcastle).Ashley might not appeal to all but I think he realises he's not going to get any success with Newcastle due to the exorbitant costs of success in the EPL. Rangers is a different proposition entirely, much more appealing to him I'm sure. Getting a decent Rangers team into Europe in the near future wouldn't cost anywhere near what a successful EPL side would cost year in year out. Could King & Ashley work together ? Who knows but it would certainly cause blind panic over at the girodome if they did get together. Even just the arrival of King himself seems to have ruffled a few feathers from what I hear.
  9. must have been one hell of a temptation for them would it not ? did they or didn't they ? I know what I think happened.......................
  10. they could do but they wouldn't be that stupid would they?
  11. We'll see about once the police investigations have concluded. And the Insolvency service investigation too for that matter. Fullerton and Kane aren't Shellik men? that's a new one on me. MIM had debt of around £750m and Rangers were around 3% of that debt yet LBG seemed more pre-occupied with Rangers debt rather than the vast MIM debt. Why could that be? doesn't take a genius to take an educated guess to figure that one out
  12. and who do you think got LBG's Scottish business division to do this ? handy when you had a couple of bhoys running it I suppose. and who do you think got HMRC to chase a fictitious tax bill to make the club virtually unsellable ? wee clue - he used to be chairman over at the east end
  13. if you look at resolution 10 on the forthcoming AGM voting paper it says:- 'to enable the directors to allot shares for cash without first offering them to existing shareholders' if there were another share issue then you'd expect existing shareholders to be offered first refusal on new shares to maintain their % shareholding but this (to me) is an open invitation to a Dave King or Mike Ashley to take control by buying up new shares and pumping funds into the club. Anyone agree?
  14. To be fair those 'outraged at porkheid' haven't said anything have they? I suppose that's a bit difficult when a certain Dr Reid has been their chairman what with his previous IRA sympathies in his university days (at lease according to Galloway anyway). No they just get their placemen (and women) in the mhedia to do their work for them don't they ? they pull the levers and the usual suspects pop up to spew their usual anti-Rangers bile
  15. Have reservations about Faure. Just wonder if he's good enough for the level we want to eventually be at. Why did he leave France anyway? you need to ask that question
  16. Just the usual wishful thinking from a Celt*c supporting so-called journalist like Gibbons. Hoping we'll 'topple back into the abyss' as he puts it. Won't happen. There's no fictitious EBT tax bill this time to deter a prospective buyer even if we did 'topple back into the abyss' as Gibbons puts it. Surely even a poor journo like Gibbons realises that.
  17. they're getting desperate mate. Wonder if they'll be able to meet all their financial obligations without this sponsorship
  18. are they going to the courts then ? if so when? and will they stop the AGM going ahead?
  19. are you sure about that?
  20. they certainly reneged on a deal - if there ever was one in the first place. Were the requisitioners really that naive ?
  21. An interesting article by Tom Gallagher but I think some of his viewpoints are very much in the minority of Celt*c supporters. He is absolutely correct in that attempts were made to put us out of business altogether last year. I keep saying to fellow Bears that these people haven't gone away & will continue to do everything they can to damage Rangers. We must be vigilant regarding these people almost all of whom are Celt*c-connected in one way or another - and not just mere supporters. Gallagher seems to also give some sort of respectability to some of the most bitter Rangers-haters who make no effort to disguise that hatred that I am absolutely astonished they've escaped prosecution. Yet again maybe I shouldn't be as I have serious misgivings about the police & judicial service in scotland and some of the individuals within it. No I think things changed forever between the two clubs the minute a certain Dr John Reid became their chairman. Anyone who's read my opinions on here will know my views on who it was who got HMRC to pursue Rangers over a fictitious tax bill & who got LBG to pressurise SDM into selling to whyte. Gallagher, if anything, avoids real issues in what I was say is generally a commendable blog
  22. which part of 'no prospective sponsor would touch the SPFL with a bargepole without Rangers in its top division' doesn't Dumbcaster understand?
  23. I don't think the requisitioners are going about this the right way either. How much support do they actually have from the shareholders and was it a good idea to let the AGM go ahead as planned before this attempt to stop it?
  24. Am I the only one who doesn't believe a word of this latest SUN story ? it's now 3 days since that game. Why haven't the police arrested anyone yet? it shouldn't be too difficult should it? and how many people would actually recognise Scott Brown's mother anyway ? not many I wouldn't think. Is this the SUN trying to even things up after the ridiculous '****** dog' story a couple of weeks ago?
  25. one thing that never seems to get discussed is MP & how much it costs to run it with all these youth teams, youth coaches, all the tournaments they go to not to mention expenses incurred. If we have this type of set up it must produce players year on year who can be sold on for profit like Ajax do. As far as I can see that's not happening right now. Is it just coincidence we seemed to start making bigger losses since it opened 12 years ago?
