  1. Too late for today but tomorrow: Fulham 1-2 Arsenal Ipswich 0-1 Bournemouth Leicester 1-2 Brighton ‘Spurs 3-1 Chelsea (reverse ‘Spursing)
  2. Always good to see a photo of the Famous of any era but especially one featuring R. C. Hamilton the outstanding goal-scoring centre forward of Elgin City and Rangers, Galactico Superstar a century before the words were invented.
  3. The mighty Rhino.

    Time wasting

Where will you find the personnel to sit on the panel? I agree with the rest except the subs.

    Time wasting

All for it. What is more tedious than the ‘keeper standing like a statue as tall as he can manage, clutching the ball shoulder height and looking about him like Queen Victoria then making a few gestures as if to throw the ball out and eventually strolling to the other side of his goal and repeating. Instead of a corner, how about an indirect free kick from the penalty spot?
  6. Unkind followers of the ‘Spurs shouting “Poste-no-clue”. How rude. A Johnny Haynes/Jimmy Hill/ Bedford Jezzard revival. I was grateful to Fulham for taking Graham Leggat away from Aberdeen. Terrific winger.
  7. Pray for Auckland.
  8. So if we can’t shop in the market we should be in, we shouldn’t shop at all. The Igamane market is being trialled. Many have been highly critical.
  9. For the third time: “I don’t suggest that Shankland is nearly as good as either but it’s the market Rangers are currently in” Rangers can’t afford a Dodds/Durie class player. When they were signed many, eg me, were underwhelmed. We were wrong.
  10. “The comparison is Billy Dodds or even Gordon Durie. Neither was greeted with acclaim but both performed pretty well. I don’t suggest that Shankland is nearly as good as either but it’s the market Rangers are currently in.”
  11. The comparison is Billy Dodds or even Gordon Durie. Neither was greeted with acclaim but both performed pretty well. I don’t suggest that Shankland is nearly as good as either but it’s the market Rangers are currently in. The alternative is to bring in the likes of Igamane. A lot of people don’t like that either. My anxiety about Shankland is that he peaked last season and having awarded himself a sabbatical this season he might find it hard to engage gear again.
  12. Decided he couldn’t hack the grief the Board gets for misplacing passes and missing easy chances.
  13. Get there early so as not to miss the pavement demo. I believe some of those attending will be dining afterwards so they’ll be wearing evening dress or maybe white tie.and tails.
  14. Aris wanting more, are they?
  15. Hammers. One way or another they don’t do dull.
  16. Fraserburgh say the same.
  17. I quite like the Broch. But not that much.
  18. Fraserburgh get a trip to Ibrox. Return of the tie a few years back. The Broch were very pleased with that one so this will be even better. An interesting match in Dundee. Interesting if you’re a Dundonian A heavy onus lies on Kilmarnock to clear the way for a more worthy potential winner. Tie of the Round is the big north east derby, Elgin City v Aberdeen. A facebook post by a misguided enthusiast: “A lot o folk were hoping for a home draw against one o the less fancied teams ....an we got it” I suspect he’s too young to remember the last SC encounter 1972 or thereby. 5-0 Aberdeen.
  19. Football should be Saturday afternoon or Wednesday night. Anything else is just weird unless maybe Sunday afternoon so long as all the league fixtures take place at the same time. Ipswich 1-2 Palace Leicester 1-2 West Ham Everton 2-0 Wolves City 3-1 Forest Newcastle 0-2 Liverpool So’ton 0-3 Chelsea Arsenal 2-3 United Villa 2-2 Brentford Fulham 2-1 BHA Bournemouth 1-3 ‘Spurs
  20. Millwall never quite make it, do they?
  21. I suppose the theory is that a rocket corner will hit somebody, friend or foe and fly into the net. As well as having no corner takers Rangers have no one to head the ball when it drops in like those above mentioned or Jimmy Millar or Willie Thornton or arriving from the back, Gough or Jackson.
  22. When he says “see you at Ibrox” he means inside not minueting about on the street.
  23. The right time may have passed for Shankland. Cameron is essential.
  24. I wonder what vacancies might be available.
