This slime could deposit £1billion into a Rangers holding account and i would still tell him to get to feck.
Let's not be hasty

Time for the Europa league away (and mostly home) tatics ala road to Manchester.
Accept what we are,and make the best of it.Being pragmatic i think its called.
That will make for some "interesting" games particularly at Ibrox where a lot of teams like to sit back and defend. Shades of West v East Germany in that World Cup game?

I was at that European final in Nuremberg. Scott Symon wouldn't allow Jim Forrest or George Mclean to play again after Berwick. Instead Symon played the two Smiths, Alex and Dave, as the inside forwards with Roger Hynd as the centre forward. We had Willie Henderson and Willie Johnson as the wingers so we did create chances against a Bayern Munich side containing Beckenbauer and Gerd Muller. Unfortunately big Roger did miss a sitter but he was a centre half! I remember his mum defending him! RIP Roger.

A good coach can elevate the current squad, so in that regard I don't think it's a total rebuild. It's certainly clear we need upgrades all over the park, but I don't think that necessarily means a complete re-build; merely better quality additions -- perhaps a few!
I think it's Merlin we need.

So depressing. Where do you start with that gang of no-hopers?

I dont want to sound controversial but Garner shouldnt even be on the team bus.
I really dont see anything in him as a player.
I disagree. Depends which way Murty wants to go but Garner up front with Dodoo could work. Garner on his own will not.

How many times does it need to be said?
We have a significantly higher budget than the teams around us. We need better management.
Giving more money to Warburton would have been like pouring petrol onto a bonfire.
Yes but who:D

No. BH knows about Scott, McMillan, Millar, Brand and Wilson. TE on the other hand knows nothing about Rangers.
Totally agree BH definitely does not think Dave King is a fit and proper person to control Rangers due to his dodgy tax dealings. however I have no doubt he is a Gers supporter which is a very broad church.

Let's face it. If Rangers lose to Dundee on Sunday the clamour for a new manager will be overwhelming.

"The problem here is that we wont be able to sign anyone before we could possibly be beaten in the early rounds as they start in June and the window doesn't open till JulyYes we are stuck with the present squad who don't look as if they could beat the minnows from "Somewherestan" at the moment

I think most fans including myself assumed that King's £30 million which he said was necessary to compete with Celtic, would be spent on players mainly and infrastructure.

We got a nice easy home tie ach well I would have liked to play hibs away
The way we're playing no tie is easy.

That was dire. Can a new manager improve that lot?

Is it not the case McLeish is being mentioned as an interim or caretaker manager til the end of the season? The same wayStuart McCall was a couple of years ago ?
FWIW I wouildn't be against McLeish returning on an interim basis but we really must look elsewhere for our next manager who must be a younger manager with contacts throughout & sourced from outside Scotland.
Marco Silva would be my choice.
I don't see McLeish taking the job until the end of the season unless he has the proviso that if Rangers finish a "strong second" he will get the job permanently. I'm sure if Rangers had got promoted then McCall would have remained as manager.

Hopefully Murty is more inspiring than Kenny McDowell was

Alec McLeish is definitely not the way forward, lets hope the board pick better than that:

No Rangers players should ever be subjected to that kind of abuse. If he does leave though, I won't be unhappy over it. As a defender he is pretty awful.
And the same goes for McParland. as a talent scout he is pretty awful.

Wasn't the reason we got Rossiter was that he was injury prone and Liverpool decided to get rid? Also European qualification begins in June so we are unlikely to have brought anyone in by then so are likely to be beaten by some mediocre outfit who will know our weaknesses

With our style of play we will not have the luxury of a goal scorer "hovering" around the six yard area so we need a bigger input of goals from the shot shy midfield.
And midfielders getting into the box to score. Holt isn't doing it anymore.

People may have forgotten that Barrie has only recently got to the form of last season. He's not as sub-standard as Tav any longer, but he's far from what he is capapble of. I was rather surprised by the contribution he's made in the RBL game, earning praise from the German commentator all game. Some cynical may say that he saw what Burke has achieved and might look for something similar himself ... and hence there has not been a signature under a new contract. I do find it a touch strange when people lay much of the "blame" at the board's doorstep when it comes to contract extensions. It always takes two (or with the agent involved three) to get this done. And I doubt Barrie ain't clever here. Miller and Hill have done admirably under the circumstances and to get them for another season would not harm us in any way or form.
It is depressing to think we will lose our best young player but keep two whose best days are behind them.

I should have read your post and saved myself 5 minutes BD
I thought ICT played a high line against us at Ibrox and we really struggled.

Our SPL opponents tend to play deep and don't give much room for him to run onto balls played over the top.
I think SPL sides are now pressing us high up the park as they can see Kiernan et al are uncomfortable (not good enough) on the ball, therefore a ball over the top to the likes of MOH will pay dividends.

I would imagine if Green gets a guilty verdict all contracts involving him will be ripped up. So lets hope that is our happy new year.
I thought Green wasn't facing charges anymore

I like the way Warburton is wanting our team to play but with the quality of player we've got it's going to be a bit up and down. I'll be happy with finishing second.

Happy Birthday Hall of Fame: Brian Laudrup

Jim Baxter was the most skilful Rangers player I have seen, but he was flawed like so many that he liked a bevvy. He went to Sunderland but did not achieve much success. He was selected to play for World Selects with Willie Henderson but Scottish football was in a better place then. Laudrup was a complete professional who was head and shoulders above the Scottish game but at European level only a good player.
