  1. I think the press would only be interested in something new, mate
  2. which is McCoist at his political best - he couldn' add anything to the debate without publicly taking sides. He has clearly refused to throw his weight behind the board by not asking fans to by STs but done so in a way that doesn't leave him open to sanctions by his employer.
  3. Is it maybe the fact that, whether one agrees with him or not, he argues his case and back ups those arguements, rather than making statements of opinion dressed up as fact and wrapped in juvenile insults - is that your problem with him?
  4. There are already the usual suspects accusing him of selling out despite the fact that he doesn't ask fans to buy season tickets despite what must be enormous pressure on him to do so from the board.
  5. My thoughts exactly. I'll watch Rangers v Whitehill Welfare before I'll watch Barcelona v Real Madrid, but since 2012 I haven't watched a game of football in Scotland that didn't involve us, other than 20 mins of the SC final (out of morbid curiosity) and the Hamilton-Hibs play off (out of spite ) However, since 2012 I have started watch English football for the first time ever, and while I don't really care about any team in particular, it's enjoyable just to follow the whole competition and I now look for English results after our own. It's quite nice just to watch football for its own sake.
  6. I suspect Miller will be as valuable for his contribution off the pitch as on it. Welcome back Kenny!
  7. a tenner? get the mortgage on it mate. 0-0 written all over it;
  8. the STV website didn't mention the name 'celtic' once and referred to this lowlife as "a man". http://news.stv.tv/west-central/277292-declan-mccuish-posted-vile-racist-tweets-about-rangers-players/ makes you wonder who the editor is
  9. I think the amount of baking soda in the parcel represented a danger to cleaning Lennon's teeth.
  10. Donald Findlay caught singing the Billy Boys: Chased out the door. Anthony Stokes caught singing IRA songs : keeps his place in the starting line up. Half a dozen drunken Rangers fans sing sectarian sngs in a third division backwater and our club is on national TV apologising before the game is even over. Thousands of Celtic fans sing sectarian songs in front of a live ChampionsLeague audience and you could hear the tumbleweed from their club. I think we can see which one is the hotbed of bigotry now.
  11. You're 8 hours ahead of us - you'll already know the score before the game starts here.
  12. If you had been offered the chance of one million shares in Rangers for 1p per share, would you have refused? Yes or No.
  13. "why" is because the great bulk of the support could be persuaded to get behind the idea of McCoist resigning as manager. I for one was prepared to give him until the end of next season, but if I'm being honest with myself, I don't truly believe he can turn into the manager we need. However, if getting rid of Ally as manager is linked to some character assassination campaign, then count me out. All this stuff about how Ally should have done this or not done that and refused penny shares is just mischief making and I'm more than a little convinced that there are hoopy forces at work here.
  14. that's a separate issue - and if you want rid of him as a manager, you'd best keep them separate.
  15. We always have to remember that McCoist is and was an employee - a very valuable one, it has to be said, since he was the only one who could give Green any legitimacy and, in retrospect, he was wrong to do so. But if he was wrong about Green, so were most others. I think he has been making judgement calls between a bad situation and a worse situation ever since he took the job and if he makes a bad call it's done with the best of intentions and in his mind will always be the choice of who he would trust to do a better job of it than himself, were he to resign.
  16. and there's the nub of this whole thing. You and others seem to be convinced that McCoist endorsed Green as a quid pro quo for getting the penny shares - but you have no evidence of that other than speculation and conjecture. You are overlooking the uncertainty around the whole club at the time, so it's easy now to say that Ally shouldn't have called on fans to buy STs- it wasn't so clear then. Failing a mea culpa from the man himself, I don't and won't believe that McCoist would have sold himself to the board or said or done something that he knew to be to the detriment of Rangers just to make a bit more money.
  17. He should have refused a golden opportunity to a) secure his family's future b) ensure that at least some of the shares went into the hands of a real Rangers man and c) show some faith in the club? And what would have been gained by refusing these shares and allowing even more of them to go into Green's hands?
  18. you're asking and answering your own question, not the one I am putting to you. I'll try one last time. Would you have bought shares in Rangers for 1p if you had had the chance to do so?
  19. Your refusal to answer the question is disappointing. If you're going to condemn McCoist for doing something then either be clear that you would not have taken the million shares if they had been offered or stop criticising him for something you would have done yourself.
  20. ok, we'll take it from your refusal to answer that you would have done exactly what McCoist did - as would everyone else who is criticising him for doing so. Of course, anyone who wants can stand up before us all and say that they wouldn't have.
  21. I didn't ask about your sole, I asked whether you would have turned down a million shares in Rangers at a penny a time? Would you?
  22. that doesn't answer the question of why anyone would pay more for something than they had to. Would you have turned down a million shares in Rangers at a penny a time?
  23. two questions a) what was the full price when McCoist was offered the shares b) why in the name of good would anyone pay more for something than they have to? Would you?
