  4. https://www.thestadiumbusiness.com/2020/04/14/rangers-offer-best-class-experience-ibrox-upgrades/ on 14th April 2020 Scottish Premiership football club Rangers has announced plans to upgrade hospitality lounges at Ibrox ahead of its 150th anniversary season in 2021-22. The renovations had initially been scheduled for this summer but will now take place in 2021 amid restrictions caused by COVID-19. The upgrades will form part of the wider Project 2022 renovations, more details of which will be revealed throughout the year. Rangers hopes the renovation of Ibrox’s Blue Sky Lounge will set a “new standard for sports hospitality in Scotland”. The space will offer panoramic views of the pitch and feature additional premium seats as well as theatre-style live cooking. Bar 72 will become Club 72, while retaining its celebratory theme from Rangers’ 1972 European Cup Winners Cup victory. The lounge will provide a modern sports bar feel and offer a “contemporary casual dining experience” and state-of-the-art screens. James Bisgrove, director of commercial and marketing at Rangers, said: “In anticipation of our 150th anniversary, investment in our premium offering is core to our strategy in providing a truly world class hospitality experience at Ibrox. As the world’s most successful football club, we firmly believe in setting the standard within Scottish sport, both on and off the field. “A best-in-class guest experience will be at the centre of both Club 72 and the Blue Sky Lounge. We are proud that these significant upgrades will represent the pinnacle of sports hospitality experiences in Scotland.” The new lounges will be initially made available to existing corporate clients of Argyle House Suite and the Bar 72 season ticket holders.
  5. Irrespective, we need those playing on the surface to be a damn sight better than they were since the winter break just past!
  6. After they tell her to shove it, the next step is the courts.
  7. How does the SPFL board get put in place? Is it by appointment and if so by whom, or is it by election? If it's the latter then the clubs hold the answer if they have the courage to use it.
  8. Maybe Liewell doesn't have as much power as has been attributed to him. ?
  9. Liewell would appreciate his favourate weapon being used, eh?
  10. In that case then Celtic should vote for the II. They could even, in a magnanimous gesture to show their passion and concern for Scottish football, offer to share the cost of the II with Rangers. (It's great what an active imagination during lockdown can create.)?
  11. This guy should be done for hate speech or even under the new supposed blaspheme laws. I suppose the least offensive comment would be that he can keep his conciliatory feelings until he has corrected his own fan base's paranoid support for the ira, their complete denial of child abuse by Celtic employees already jailed and part of a paedo ring, their rape of Scottish football for their own advancement and their continued threat of injunctions on the media. When he has understood the concept of moral and sporting integrity then he can come back to us. Wait until our PR guy has got up to speed and is in top gear, then we shall see.
  12. You don't know that and neither does anyone else. Look at Rangers in 2008. Any Jap "owners' in the Juniors? This "award" is a travesty.
  13. Well done our club. Leading the way for others to follow. WATP!!
  14. Headshot for Lennon ... https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/uefa-suspends-champions-league-and-europa-league-indefinitely-as-coronavirus-pandemic-continues/ UEFA suspends Champions League and Europa League indefinitely as coronavirus pandemic continues UEFA has also suspended June international qualifying matches for the European Championship by Roger Gonzalez @rgonzalezcbs 11 hrs ago • 1 min read UEFA has suspended the 2019-20 Champions League and Europa League seasons indefinitely with the coronavirus pandemic growing throughout Europe. The Euro 2020 qualifying playoffs in June was also put on hold. The decision was formally announced on Wednesday following a video conference meeting with the general secretaries of all 55 UEFA member associations. UEFA had hoped to complete international and domestic competitions by June 30, but that has now changed. Here's what they decided: The deadlines related to all 2020/21 UEFA club competitions are postponed until further notice, in particular as regards the admission process and the registration of players. UEFA will set new deadlines in due course. All national team matches for men and women due to be played in June 2020 are postponed until further notice. This includes the playoff matches for UEFA Euro 2020 and qualifying matches for UEFA Women's Euro 2021. All other UEFA competition matches, including the centralized international friendly matches, remain postponed until further notice. No updated timetable has been offered, but suspending the competitions further clearly shows there is likely no plan for action to resume this month. Most leagues have around 100 games remaining, with domestic cups in most countries still yet to be completed. It goes without saying that all of this depends on the situation with the virus, if it is contained at some point and deemed safe by public health officials for matches to go forward. Euro 2020 has already been postponed until the summer of 2021, potentially leaving June and July to complete this current season. UEFA's president said last week the season will be lost if play doesn't resume by the end of June. If play carries into July, the start of next season could very well be delayed to allow proper time off and preparation instead of running the seasons back to back.
  15. What about wee Bud - Willie Johnston. That guy could hang a ball in the air forever and hence fooled a lot of defences.
  16. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/52086428 Harry Kane: End of June the limit for season, says Tottenham striker 7 hours ago From the sectionPremier League Harry Kane has scored 11 Premier League goals for Tottenham this season England captain Harry Kane says the Premier League season should be scrapped if it cannot be completed by the end of June. All elite football in England is suspended until at least 30 April because of the coronavirus pandemic. "I know the Premier League will do everything it can to finish the season," said Tottenham striker Kane. "There needs to be a point where enough is enough. Probably the limit for me is the end of June." 'The only certainty is the uncertainty' - what next for football? Kane echoes the thoughts of Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin, who said on Saturday "the season will probably be lost" it if cannot restart before the end of June. ...
  17. Here's how CL domestic league clubs should act. Well done ... https://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/bundesliga-clubs-contribute-euro20m/178655 Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen create €20m pot for Bundesliga clubs Football Tom Carnduff · Journalist 10:18 · March 26, 2020 · 2 min read Germany's four Champions League clubs have collectively contributed €20m to help other Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 teams during the Coronavirus pandemic. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen have joined together as part of a solidarity campaign to aid those who need financial support. The Deutsche Fussball Liga management board will decide how the funds will be distributed. The four clubs will initially forego their share of the undistributed TV rights money from the DFL for the coming season - a figure of around €12.5m. The clubs will then add an additional €7.5m to make up the final sum. Football across Europe has been suspended following the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and the DFL recently recommended that the Bundesliga postpones matches until April 30 at the earliest. On the decision, Bayern CEO Karl Heinz Rummenigge said: "Together with the three other Champions League participants, we want to send a signal of solidarity to all clubs in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 with this initiative. "In these difficult times, it’s important that the stronger shoulders support the weaker shoulders. With this, we also want to show that football is standing together right now." Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of RB Leipzig, added: "Through productive and constructive discussions with Bayern, Dortmund and Leverkusen we arrived at the conclusion that despite it being a difficult time for every club, we wanted to do our part to help those clubs that have been and will be more severely impacted by this crisis. "The Bundesliga is a world-class league and is made up of a diverse 36 clubs, who need to stick together in times of crisis. "In times like this, we all have different responsibilities. On the one hand, we need to make sure that we don't have to conduct any lay-offs while also ensuring the stability of the club. "At the same time, we also want to ensure the survival of the Bundesliga and show solidarity where possible. "We also want to meet the social responsibilities we have within the city and the region. We need to continue to support these areas, which is what we are doing." Christian Seifert, speaker of the DFL presidential board, also commented: "This decision proves that solidarity in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 is more than just talk. "On behalf of all clubs, the DFL's presidential board is extremely grateful to all four Champions League clubs."
