No quality, no bottle, no Progrès - Should the manager be sacked?
SteveC replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
But that's a very big "outwith". We've got tons of Warburton duds on the books. We'd also have PC's and they presumably came to play with him and so...............a bloated squad of duds who would have no connection to any incoming manager. It's a f+cked scenario. I'd go so far as to say that it's probably a rhetorical question as unless a billionaire wants to give his fortune away to us (and none ever have) then we have no wiggle room whatsoever. -
"teeth" isn't the plural body parts that most readily springs to mind, here. We risk going into the season under as dark and ominous a cloud as you could imagine. What a freaking difference a week makes.

Berwick was actually much more shocking because we had a wonderful team then. We were a force to be reckoned with against all comers in Europe - we beat the very elite (CWC holders) that very year and came so close to winning another CWC with another "harder than any European Cup selection of fixtures". For Berwick, the team were over confident and stayed up the night before playing cards (presumably not drinking mineral water), while disparaging the upcoming game, until mid-morning according to Bud in some book or another. Even then............shocking beyond words. A minister warned against suicide in his service soon thereafter....We imploded as a club, made stupid decisions. Helped them to their 9-in-a-row. Yes it all sounds familiar but back then we were coming from a position of strength not form a club illegally demoted, robbed of all assets and hamstrung ever since. Btw, I also remember being at Ibrox as we lost to Stenhousemuir, were gubbed by St Mirren (4-1 was it? Horrible night, Colin Stein booed ferociously - and, sadly, deservedly) and then there was Chesterfield. And yet, and yet, having said all that - a team that's never won a Euro tie, hardly ever scored a goal and never two..........dear God it takes some effort to comprehend. PS I've said it before here but I'll re-iterate it, as it is important in context - the Rangers team that lost to Berwick is the finest Rangers team I can remember seeing. We've not reached those heights since if you take them vis-a-vis the rest of Europe. 92 probably comes closest. Nearly all Scots in both cases - couldn't do that in the modern world, of course. We were pretty big noises in 67 and we lost to diddies. We are now diddies and lost to even diddier diddies. It's horrific but it's nowhere near the same shock if you look beyond our name and history and see what has happened to Scottish football in general and the mismanagement and subsequent criminal attacks on us over the last decade.

I feel like I've been hit by a train. Can't take anymore. 'bye for now.
-
They should reimburse the fans first and then do the machete thing
-
Early in the season....hit the bar three times....new boys to come in....blah de blah
-
Utterly humiliating
-
Corner. Last chance.
-
This is the stuff of nightmares
-
I'm not disagreeing, I just don't think sacking him tonight is an option.
-
Then what? We've already a squad full of Warburton's unwanted......then we'd have Pedro's as well.....nightmare
-
I feel sick. God help those who went all that way by bus and are facing the journey home soon.
-
First time this mob have ever scored two in Europe. I never saw their second. I looked away.
-
Very very bad things
-
lets not waste this!
-
Yes, there are.
-
ffs so slow on the man and then.....aaaaargh
-
I know. perhaps I brought it on with my comment. i jumped up, actually, thought it was going to be a goal. Aaaaaaaargh and now the woodwork. It WAS my comment
-
We don't even look like scoring. It's not as though they've cleared off the line.. keeper made saves or near things. This is utterly soporific.

Penalty shoot outs always make me nervous. oh we're not at that bit, yet...OK.....
-
I'm beginning to fear for us getting that far
-
He is at the correct game, in that case.

RTV is working fine for me tonight, perfectly even. Which is a bit of a pity.
-
Anyone out there watching this? Still awake? OOOps, I was sitting on the wrong thread :-) Think I fell asleep.........
-
RTV working well tonight, too. Weird to watch, though: feels like a pre-season friendly that also happens to be one of the most important games of the season. I confess (is that sectarian?) that I'm spending the time reading the banners....
