  1. (Tom) Miller: " I'm not encouraging physical assault on players but we need an enforcer in the middle to cement players".
  2. Oh no, Tom Miller just reminded me of that 1971 game. I had forgotten that. What a shitty end to the league season that was. 0-0 with Morton, drew with Clyde, lost to Dundee and St Johnstone. *** shudder ***
  3. Aye, exactly, = he's a hateful monster.
  4. We may have got a shock when they scored but we can thank our lucky stars you are not in Italy. One game there was postponed due to a ferocious downpour. Another was stopped for an earthquake (!) but has since resumed.
  5. He makes John MacDonald look like someone who stays on his feet. He's also rather naughty with digs off the ball but its his serial diving to which I was referring. He's a bit like a Black but he can play football and so has less reason to be a diving ned..........
  6. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that was so close. Great try Windass
  7. Garner is great in the air - he defends corners against us as well as scoring them at the other end. pity about some of his other "attributes" but thank f@ck for that goal
  8. Hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Aye, aye - ya bassa
  10. Dear oh dear. So much for me being happy with Hodson. FFS
  11. oh to have these three fit and playing!
  12. I'm pleased for Hodson as I think he deserved to retain his place. Mind you,I thought the same re Gilks.
  13. I see it's Tom Miller on comms for RTV again. That'll be me with the sound down for much of it, then. There was a guy called Rob on a couple of games ago. I'm not sure where he was from and I don't know his second name but he was good and therefore, comparatively, almost indescribably excellent. They should give the gig to him or someone like him.
  14. I'm not far off double you, pal, so I have seen many better than BF. All before his time though and so I'm in agreement with you vis-a vis your years
  15. Same from me - all the very best to you & your family!
  16. They are even mentioning it now in reports of the wee boy being bottled.
  17. There's photos now and they are disgraceful. Lifted from FF: http://tinyurl.com/z7ahohu From the record: http://i.imgur.com/93RIeNE.png
  18. That's because we don't agree about the money. I don't understand where your figures come from, nor your confidence about us reaching the group stages to gain whatever it is there. (I'm sure it is not 10 million). Full houses are hardly guaranteed either. it would surely depend on the opposition and ticket pricing. Look, I want us to be back in Europe, I love travelling to European games and I love European nights at Ibrox. I also think it's important for our standing as a club to be heard as a name in Europe again, even in the diddy cup. However, I just don't believe that the Europa league generates the income - far less the net income - that you seem to believe it does and nor do I think we as a club are anywhere near being able to play more - and more difficult games - than we are currently unable to cope with. I also would not be confident of qualifying but that'd be down to luck of the draw and is obviously not impossible, although I do think it unlikely. I hope that you are right and it tuns out how you envisage but it just seems far-fetched. and based on fanciful figures, to me, sorry.
  19. re #245 = thanks Craig. Sorry, I should have done that myself but I am on to my mum re the game and so it is hard to concentrate/think/breathe. It's been a looooooooooooong call - and still ongoing.
  20. We wouldn't make any money unless we progressed and then not enough to compensate for having no chance in the league. We are far from challenging on one front. Opening up another would mean even more league points dropped. What kind of money are we talking about for a qualifier in Gibraltar and another in Kazaghsthan or whatever the early July jaunts would take us? We'd probably be out of pocket!
  21. Another young bear bottled: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/rangers-fan-11-rushed-hospital-9110391? EDIT by craig: Am posting the narrative so people don't need to give the Record hits.... 21 shares AN 11-year-old was rushed to hospital before the Old Firm match after he was struck on the head with a bottle outside Hampden. The young Rangers fan is believed to have been walking along Aikenhead Road with his dad when he was he was injured, around 15 minutes before the League Cup semi-final kicked off. He was treated by a police medic at the scene and had his head bandaged. The boy was then taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 1400 hours on Sunday, October 23, an 11-year-old boy sustained a head injury after being hit by a bottle whilst walking along Aitkenhead Road, Mount Florida. “He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. “Details of the seriousness of any injury is not know at this time but it is not thought to be serious. “Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.” Read More Rangers 0 Celtic 1 as Moussa Dembele hits late winner to send Hoops into Betfred Cup Final – 3 things we learned An eyewitness said police riot vans and mounted officers responded when the alarm was raised. The area is traditionally used by Celtic fans to enter and exit the national stadium. In February 2015 schoolboy Kieran Duffy was bottled by a thug as he travelled to Hampden in a minibus. The Rangers fan lost two teeth and was lucky not to be blinded when the vehicle was attacked. They rocked the vehicle and forced open an emergency door before one thug launched a bottle inside. It missed Declan by inches and bounced off dad Robert’s elbow before hitting Kieran’s face. Six weeks ago ugly scenes marred the first Scottish Premiership clash between the Glasgow giants for four years . The game, which Celtic won 5-1 at their home ground, made headlines for all the wrong reasons after Hoops supporters hanged sex doll effigies of Rangers fans and displayed an offensive banner during the game. And after the match fans in the away end of the ground caused thousands of pounds worth of damage by trashing the toilets at Parkhead. Offensive sectarian chants from both sets of fans included IRA songs and The Billy Boys.
  22. I wanted it to be shouted, not whispered.....
  23. Europa league is the last thing we need. We'd start with qualifiers not long after the season ends and if we got through them (which I very much doubt that we would) we'd have Thursday night games holding us back next season. Afaiac, we have to stop them winning the league asap. This would screw up pre-season and then potentially the season itself.
  24. I think so, too And Gilks for keeper?
  25. He is a putrid ref, no question but the better team won today*. We will have to defeat referees, compliance officers as well as other teams if we are to win the league again. There will be huge injustices to come, I've no doubt but I can't complain re today's result, gutted though I am. * Out of two poor teams. Take the crowd and the history away from today and it'd be unwatchable pish.
